What you Tweet is in fact what you're thinking, according to a new study released by Nielsen and Twitter. The study shows there is a strong correlation between Twitter TV engagement and engagement with programming among the general viewing audience.
What does this mean? It means anything from Twitter - sentiment, spikes in chatter, or even general trends, are indicative of larger conversation. It's not just a bunch of social media stars word-vomiting into the Twitterverse.

Monday Morning dose of Appsurd. I'm so thrilled this new city I call home is such a mecca of life-changing invention.
Airpnp is the latest in appsurdity and one of my favorite play-on-words names for an app.
And no, it's not JUST another public toilet finder (it does that too). It uses the sharing economy to allow strangers to charge you to use their clean bathroom.

Here's a genius partnership. Brands have tried desperately to work with Tinder but it's felt forced. Gillette took a new approach.
Gillette worked with Tinder to conduct research into the "match" rate of clean-shaven men vs. those that are more hirsute.
According to the video above, 74% of positive swipes on Tinder went to neatly groomed date seekers. Clean-shaven individuals, it seems, receive an average of 37% more matches than their bushier counterparts.
Personally, I'm still rocking the 2-day scruff look. Mostly out of laziness.

Is the internet as we know it on it's way out!? Eric Schmidt said last week during a panel at "The Future of the Digital Economy" that "the Internet will disappear."
This is not some sort of Walking Dead scenario. What he means is that in the future, typing what you want to look for into a "search box" is going to feel as antiquated as having a travel agent book airfare for you.
With the rise of predictive search, Internet of Things, and many other advancements, almost everything will be automated.
I can't wait for my grill to pre-heat when I walk home and my fridge to crack open a beer.

It's no surprise that the Internet of Things has been the number one trend of CES so far. My favorite new product? Sleep Number's SleepIQ bed for kids with a built-in "Monster Detector"
Convincing parents to spend a lot of money on a bed that tracks their kid's sleep cycle is a tough sell. It has benefits, but it's a big purchase. However, get the kid to beg their parents and... we all know how that goes.
Will be interesting to see what other IoT products are geared towards kids.

Fidelity has mocked up a way to use Oculus for more than gaming. In Fidelity’s prototype virtual environment—which it says is the first financial services app written for Oculus—stocks are represented as office towers and lumped together in sector “neighborhoods.” The buildings’ footprints are shaped by trading volume and their rooftops are red or green depending on changes in price.
Not sure how useful this is quite yet, but who cares? Smart to see financial institutions embracing uncharted territory to hopefully be a first-mover and attract younger investors. People probably thought mobile check deposit was ridiculous when it first came out as well.

What does the future hold for the cluttered marketing landscape? (a.k.a. LUMA Partners' LUMAscape?)
This AdExchanger article from Christophe Camborde may be the best perspective I've seen yet. Click to read how agencies and smaller publishers may one day join forces to rival the likes of Google.

Xaxis, Disqus partner to launch programmatic native platform for Sponsored Comments. Is this the same thing as the spammers who write things like "I make $800 a week working from home"?
In all seriousness, this is an interesting idea because it's an untapped resource. It's a new platform for reaching consumers and there's big potential for semantic targeting.
Disqus in the comments and maybe you'll get me some ad revenue.
