I haven't watched the new season of Resident Alien yet, but I just saw a screenshot of Gary Farmer, one of the two actors I started the show for, the other being Alan Tudyk.

But anywhosit, Gary lost a significant amount of weight, and it concerned me, and I checked to see if it was on purpose, good for him or cancer, oh no...

Usually when I've had loved ones lose that much weight, that fast, they're sick.

So I googled, and it says it's all hard work and healthy eating. He did a lot working on himself and watching his food intake. I was relieved, but then the very last sentence is he is also battling cancer. Which, the announcement was made this month, so I don't know if the two things correlate.

But I'm hoping Gary beats this.

I already reblogged it to say this, but I'll say it again.

Thank you, James Gunn, I've waited for this accurate of a portrayal for years. Superman is kind, hopeful, and human (even if not biologically).

For those complaining, it wasn't serious enough, or it was too cartoony... It's a COMIC BOOK story.... cartoons on paper... and Superman isn't supposed to be dark and brooding. That's a consistent problem with Superman live actions until now. He was too busy posing to save people, he didn't radiate kindness, he caused terror. That isn't Superman.

"Oh, his underwear on the outside is soon stupid looking -" it's supposed to be. He's the being of seemingly god-like power that would be terrifying, but then he's in bright primary colors and his underwear with a big S on the chest. Children would think he's fun, and adults would find it silly, but those powers cancel it out. Instead of fearing him, seeing him brings joy.

When he would save someone and then you'd see him, you weren't thinking, what a silly suit, you were thinking, there's Superman.

It was spectacular, atleast to me.

I grew up reading Superman comics, and this is the guy I read about. And, finally, since Smallville Kara is portrayed correctly, too.

Kara isn't like the CWs current or most recent portrayal, I have no idea if that's still going.

Kara has some shit going on, trauma. She watched her world blow up, but was given a job, but then she was launched into the Phantom Zone, finally free she's younger than the baby it was her life mission to protect, atleast physically and mentally.

So she's depressed and goes to red sun planets to party, get drunk get high, cope with the destruction of her world and purpose.

On Earth, Clark treats her like a kid, but he was this baby that it was her job to protect, raise, educate. Now he's trying to educate her. She's frazzled, and gets "rebellious" towards Clark, Parties, blah blah blah... but no one every portrays that Kara in film. They see it as a bad example or too messy, or not sexy, over looking the cause. And why are you wanting the Traumatized teen to be sexy???

Kara El is a party girl, but it's to cope with her depression and trauma.

She needs her cat, and Clark needs to confiscate and train Krypto

Hawk Girl, perfection as well. Yes in the comics she is a killer, she kills. Everyone complaining watched the justice show but didn't read. Go read.

Lex, Nicholas Embodied him. I had doubts and they were smudged. Great job, sociopath, hateful guy, love it.

Mr Terrific. To I have to explain. Finally, someone didn't portray him as inhuman or robotic in personality. I've always pictured as Autistic and the smartest guy in the room type of thing.

Jimmy, yeah, that's comic, Jimmy. Nerd guy, wouldn't be surprised if Clark adopted some of his behaviors. Gets ladies left and right, might get Kara one day, who knows.

Lois☆, It's rare someone doesn't right her as a bitch because of her insecurities. And James, I again, thank you. Lois loves Clark, she's a good person, and she has her own trauma and attachment issues because of said trauma. Fear. She is a fearful woman with a proud appearance. She isn't being spiteful or trying to make things difficult. Like all people, she has some flaws, she learns to trust, and she will continue to do so. Without skydiving. I loved this portrayal of Lois.

Guy was perfect. Asshole in the comics, asshole in the movie, but that's brain damage. So he gets a pass😭

Nathan was actually really good casting. Even if it was just James hiring one of his besties again. Nathan and Guy have the same face shape, body type, and everything. Great.

I left the theater joyful, hopeful, and thoughtful. I hope this brings empathy to people, especially young people. I know it's outing those who lack it.

I'd like to say

I am so very happy with James Gunn, I trusted that man with Clark, and he delivered. Like he actually read the comics and understood Superman before writing this film.

Superman is kindness and humanity and just yes. I am so happy.

And I love how Paw and Maw were done. They are just your average Joe and Mary, or John and Martha. They weren't assuming, and they were so very human.

And they loved their baby boy.

And we don't usually see a John whose just as loving if not softer than Martha. Movies usually portray John as overly stoic when he's still a loving father. He just doesn't always have the right words or he has words that Clark just won't understand yet.

The movie was perfect, it was a bright hope in a dark time. I loved it so much.

One of the funniest things to me about SuperBat fics is how they always think Kansas is like the epitome of Southern Hospitality and like idk morality?

It's not even Southern, and like I'm not sure, a single fic writer has met a Kansian.

Clark wouldn't out right hit on someone? He's from Kansas, and Kansians would never.

Kansians fuck, the only place you can hangout apart from parking lots is eachothers garages. What do you think happens?

Clark Kent is so Kansas that he opens the door for everyone.

If you hold the door for a Kansian, they'll look at you like you kicked their puppy and quoted their SSI to them.

He speaks so formally and polite, it's that Kansas nurturing.

If you say, "Yes ma'am/sir/indeed/my liege/etc" the person may cry then ask what foreign land you're from.

Ma Kent and Pa Kent just decided to raise a good person. They taught him his hospitality and manners. Why do you think Clark was bullied? Because no one acts like him, like the way they portray his bullies growing up is honestly the average Kansian.

I know a lot of polite Kansians, believe me. I'm not saying Kansians are evil incarnate, but the majority are not chill.

This state was still segregated in the 80s illegally. I've met many people unhappy that it was finally inforced that they have to share a side walk with people of color. I've heard many a horror story from Black and Indigenous ppl here.

A town near me was founded by the KKK and is actively lived in by White Supremacists and proclaimed run away Nazis.

There are so many white people here who think it's okay to say racial slurs, and there are so many white people that people of color can't safely stand up for themselves.

Kansas isn't the perfect mannered place people writing fics, and even the comics think it is.

Finally, it's a fun original story with beautiful animation and really interesting settings. And it feels like a message about growing up divergent. It's really good.

Jonathan Joss comedian and actor has been murdered

You've probably already heard.

He's most known for his King of The Hill character John Redcorn. Sadly most comments I've heard from people were, "Now we have to recast Louanne and John"

Which is fucking disrespectful.

Texan news outlets report he was in a fight with a neighbor while visiting his property, which had burned down in a freak fire.

His husband has corrected these claims.

He and Jonathan had been threatened repeatedly while living together there. It was Jonathan's life long childhood home.

They neighbors threatened to burn the house down, before it had burned. And their two dogs burned inside. While getting mail yesterday and when they arrived they found their dogs skull and collar on display as a threat to them. They began crying and grieving. That's when a neighbor began cursing at them and calling them homophobic slurs, and they asked the man to leave them alone as they grieved, and the man without warning lifted a gun from his lap and began firing. Jonathan pushed his husband out of the way and was shot. He saved his husband's life.

His husband wants everyone to know it was NOT a fight and that he and Jonathan were minding their business when there was a deadly homophobic attack
