Personally I think it was very forward thinking of the Sonic anime to give Rouge a butch human girlfriend and for everyone to just collectively go "yeah that tracks"

I love making mech pilots who have something fundamentally wrong with them. Pilots who stare at you for too long without blinking because they forget they aren't hidden behind layers of metal. Pilots that twitch and flinch at any sound outside of the cockpit. Pilots who refuse to talk to anyone apart from their beloved Handler. Pilots who instinctively curl their hands as if touching controls that aren't there. Pilots who will do anything to get back into their mech - their real body.

Pilots who will never be anything other than a pilot because the bond with their mech and their constant exposure to combat has shattered their mind.

Sorry I forgot who I had sent oc lore too. Dirk, Kinkade, and Stilleto are all mine and exist in my own setting thats more battletech than it is armored core in that theres a galaxy at war and they always need more pilots. There also arent the staples of combat drugs and handlers as I dont really have any interest in those areas. Anyway!

Stilleto has full memory of the times they get to surface and take control its just that they don’t really get to come out unless there’s a Fight. And it has to be a Fight because Dirk and Kinkade can handle a lot of regular fights by themselves. Stilleto loves a Fight though, pitting themself against another and coming out on top gives them a very visceral feeling of being truly alive.

Dirk and Kinkade both remember what happens while Stilleto is at the surface but its… Muted. Muffled.

For Dirk he can remember how things looked to Stilleto but he can’t really separate that from the memory of just what his organic eyes saw.

For Kinkade the difference is more how he feels about the memories, or rather how he doesn’t. Emotions are complicated with him but not for Stilleto, when he’s remembering the times they have control he can remember how Stilleto felt at the time but he doesn’t have a sense of how he felt about it.

Dirk and Kinkade are stationed on a distant ice ball in my setting, there are only three pilots assigned to the entire planet and so far they havent met but all have their own shit going on. One of my other pilots suffers from a lack of personality while his mech has an excess and the last pilot is caught between a rock and a hard place because she can’t come into her own until I progress the story a bit and Im not writing any of this down so she’s just stuck.

That's so cool! Feel free to keep telling me about it if you want, mech stuff has so much potential and it's always refreshing to see someone do something unique with it.
