What is life

I can’t be sure, to be honest. Because it keeps changing. I wanted to be a zookeeper at seven. Keep puppies and kittens. Not wear dresses. Eat loads of chocolate. At eleven, I wanted to be a lawyer. Because all the adults said that it earned big money. A nice house. A nice car. You’ll be happy. Now, I’m in an existential crisis. I’m not sure what I want, maybe from hearing too many opinions over the years. I’m not sure what the future holds, I see unemployed college graduates. I’m not sure. I feel lost. And it feels ridiculous and very real at the same time. I’m a student. Just study, the path is made for you already. Don’t complain, your life is better than those before you. You should be happy. But I see the opportunities out there. But I’m afraid they’re just dreams. Illusions. A dreamer can’t get far. So I’m a little lost. I’ll meander along the beaten path. But maybe, just maybe, if opportunity flies by, I’ll catch onto its wings- too romantic. Everyone needs to face reality. Can’t get my head stuck in the clouds, so what IS life?
