Hey, not to be rude but I have a family member who has DID and a while back I did an essay for school about it and I saw your post from a little while ago when you were answering an ask about your system and I want to just ask how your system is possible without trauma, because DID and OSDD (Other Specified Dissociative Disorder) are trauma based disorders and you cannot form a system without DID or OSDD, according to the Theory of Structural Dissociation (ToSD) which states that every single person is born with multiple ego states (sort of like the movie inside out) but these ego states eventually merge into a full identity at around 6-10, but when a child experiences repeated trauma or one major traumatic event, and usually has a predisposition to dissociative coping mechanisms, these ego states cannot fuse together (this trauma usually tends to happen before the age of 9) and as a result of the ego states to being able to merge together, they can form their own solid identities, which is what causes a system. So I'm fairly confused as to how you can form a system with a lack of either of these conditions, but at the end of the day I don't know you, and I don't know your life and once again this is not intended to be rude, sorry if I come off that way, I have autism.

i'll try to answer your questions as best as I can, but be aware that neither myself nor anyone in our system is an expert.

yes, DID and OSDD are both trauma based disorders, and yes, if you have this you are, by definition, a system or multiple, but, as I said in my last post, you do not have to have DID to be a system. the definition of DID (according to my.clevelandclinic.org) is "a mental health condition where you have two or more separate identities. the identities are usually caused by living through trauma". so, yes, that's a system.

but I, as the host of my system and the "original" person living in this body, have not, to my knowledge, gone through any massive traumas in my life that cause my systemhood, nor was it due to extreme loneliness or other origins, and I have never been diagnosed with DID. we also do not experience memory loss or dissociation when switching. In our head, the way my head mates came to me was because their bodies (whether they existed in this universe or not) were no longer in a proper state for them to live in, and their souls needed somewhere to go. now, I realize this is not the most scientific reason for our system to be a thing, but here we are. this is the way my system sees it.

in our mind, the only criteria to be a system is to have head mates. this could be due to a disorder like DID or OSDD, diagnosed or not, this could be due to extreme stress or lonliness and your brain needing a way to cope with that, or you could be like me, and not know where the hell your head mates came from, or if they are brainmade or not, or if they ever had their own bodies. they remember this stuff, they told me about it, and I believe them.

i'm sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for. I have explained my systemhood in the best way possible, and I hope this is okay. thank you for being willing to be educated.
