This is really good. I might just try it.
So... I found this and now it keeps coming to mind. You hear about "life-changing writing advice" all the time and usually its really not鈥攂ut honestly this is it man.
I'm going to try it.

When you're trying to re-edit a book and it's absolutely the shittiest thing you've ever read, then remembers that you wrote it.

Stay.
"Why do you have to run away when I'm here? I'm here. I'm right HERE. With you."
"But I'm not." Her eyes fall downcast, lips trembling. "I'm right HERE," she says pressing a finger to the side of her head. "And I'm stuck."

What leads to a negative self-image?
"When we don't make ourselves a priority, we start to neglect who we are or and our needs," says licenced mental health counselor Stephen Moir. "This can impact how others see us, treat us, and ultimately lead to a negative self image."

"All of the ways you cope---including the toxic ones---are serving a purpose. Often these strategies that people see as toxic are survival strategies developed in response to trauma that were really good at protecting us at one point or have stopped working or are less effective now."

Yes!
I hate when readers criticize books they don't like and blame it on the fact that the author is young. I would just like to point out that firstly鈥攖hey had enough talent to get their book out there, to write tens of thousands of words, to get it queried and published, or, maybe even they did the work all themselves. And secondly, books can be bad. Anything can. But attacking a writer's life work because they are young makes no sense at all. I've read dozens of books written by young authors who write beautifully. And even more crappy books by old ones. It's not age that makes the writing, not at all. When you read a book and you tell people that the reason you disliked it so much was because the author needed more experience, needed more time, you're putting off generations of young writers who want to improve. If you dislike a book, fine. But don't blame it on the author's age. It's discouraging for people who look up to them and admire them鈥攂ut more so, discouraging for the author, who has worked hard to be where they are.
