Writing fanfics

I'm probably talking in the void but I have a question for fanfics writers and/or readers.

Do you guys have a specific word count where you decide to separate your work in multiples chapters or you prefer to just publish one big one shot? (and as a reader which one do you prefer)

Like I know for me a one shot bigger than 15k I'll probably Mark it for later (and will probably never read it) but when I'm writing I have the urge to make chapters for something with 7k more when it works.

So I'm wondering what you guys think.

I'm also slowly going back into writing fanfics and I'm just looking for some advices on what readers prefer. (I'm aware it's not that serious but I'm still curious).
