Portchester Castle (England)

The medieval Portchester Castle is set inside the dividers of a third century Roman stronghold, the most totally saved illustration north of the Alps. It stands imposingly on a low lying tongue of land that tasks out into the regular harbor of Portsmouth.

It was the sound of stallion's hooves running on cement. Obviously, there were not a single stallion in sight outside of the château.

Numerous local people and sightseers have guaranteed to have seen the apparition of The White Lady, thought to be Charlotte White. Amid the Victorian time, Charlotte is said to have suffocated in the channel encompassing Portchester Castle trying to spare her infant who had fallen in. From that point onward, Charlotte's soul has meandered the stronghold's grounds searching for requital. Sightings of her apparition have regularly been accounted for close by emotions that a vindictive soul is available. At times her phantom has been seen slinking the towers before tossing herself from the Keep.

Living in a haunted castle

Living in a haunted castle can be scary It's not for the weak of heart...you'll see Very evil things happen in this castle nightly It's something that reeks of the macabre Now as the chains are on my feet here Going crazy being stuck in this haunted place Insane indeed...for it's Halloween night tonight Now one by one all the evil spirits are chanting A howling wind and this witch of a maiden's flying Have you any idea of how this castle appears evil? All my nightmares are accented and living large Understanding my fear doesn't help me tonight Now as the ghosts are surrounding and taunting To me there's no bigger fear but knowing this Evidence points to what a Poe or Hitchcock could write Driven almost over the edge and waiting for my demise Casting myself in fear and looking for one way out All the fears are cascaded and choking me to death Something that seems to be a reoccurring nightmare To the naked eye...it appears to be a figment of my imagination Let me plead my case...it's real..even if it's Halloween night Even if it happens tomorrow...I'm doomed...living in a haunted castle

Ghostly Controversy

Everyone has their own thoughts on ghosts and since It’s almost impossible to prove that something invisible, is actually there, this’ll never be settled. But while on this subject, take a look at this two websites:  Controversy over ghost stories, here Jakarta posted mostly quotes, but it is interesting.  Lauren Wilcox stated in  The Haunted: The debate that John Warfield thinks that the search for proof is continuous for this, but that’s all that is needed to convince the majority.

Theories on ghosts

Well, I have no theory of my own and since I’ve never encountered one I can’t even say they exist, but come on, ghosts is one of the most interesting topics when it comes to debatable supernatural events! I mean, what if?? What if ghosts do exist? Does it mean their living among us? How exciting I’d say!

We know barely nothing about creatures that’s keeping an eye on us, so, if they really do exist, how did it come to that? I found a site that I think was interesting enough on this topic to share, take a look : haunting-theories

“Everything we said about Penumbra also applies to Amnesia (the two games were made by the same developer). There’s just one key difference: you can’t fight. At all. When monsters show up your only option is to run away in fear, hide in the shadows, and pray they don’t find you.

Story wise, you play as an amnesiac (bet you didn’t see that coming) who’s woken up in a dark castle. All you remember is that you’re being chased by something; it’s up to the player to explore the castle and figure out what’s going on. It sounds simple enough, at least until you discover that the castle is one of the scariest game environments ever created. Every dark corner and closed door might have a monster lurking behind it, and that’s a terrifying prospect for a player that has no means of defending themselves. Oh, and did we mention that your character is going insane?”
