So hey, I guess we’re back to violently hating women again on the internets.

Something that stands out to me is that Depp’s court documents’ primary focus is defamation and the alleged destruction of Depp’s career (as if), something abusers and their apologists are always primarily concerned with when this comes out, although it is a defamation lawsuit - but something that especially stands out to me is the claim that Amber Heard “violently abused her former partner” (mentioned at #3 and #6.)

To be blunt, that’s a crock of fucking manipulative, overblown shit, because here’s what actually happened:

Authorities at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington state confirmed to USA TODAY that Heard was arrested by Port of Seattle Police on September 14, 2009, according to Sea-Tac spokesman Perry Cooper.

Heard and her then-girlfriend, artist/photographer Tasya van Ree, got into a fracas at the airport after Heard allegedly grabbed and struck van Ree’s arm.

Heard ended up being nicked for misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree/domestic violence, Cooper said.

However, in November of 2011, the police received a request to delete the arrest information on the case and as allowed under Washington state law, it was then deleted from the system, Cooper said.

But not from all systems.

After Heard was arrested and her mug shot taken, her case was assigned a number and she appeared in King County District Court in Seattle the next day, on Sept. 15, 2009. There she learned that prosecutors declined to press charges against her, the district court clerk’s office confirmed to USA TODAY.

Van Ree, however, says Heard was “wrongfully” accused and the incident was blown out of proportion. In a statement issued by Heard’s publicist Wednesday, van Ree said two cops “misinterpreted and over-sensationalized” the incident.

“I (recall) hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which later appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just ‘friends,’ ” the statement said. “It’s disheartening that Amber’s integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together and remain close to this day.”

This is an enormous red flag for my trust in this document. If this sounds like “violently abusing a partner” to you, you’re just a misogynistic idiot who will take the word of your fave actor who actually has a violent history so you don’t feel ~*problematic*~ (although you still should considering all the racist roles he’s taken on!)

Considering Depp is a rich man able to easily pay his supposed witnesses off to fix his supposedly “damaged” reputation, the only thing that’ll change my mind on this is the alleged video evidence that he has actually being released or leaked instead of kept under wraps like it is now. Otherwise this seems like the classic tactic of an abuser making counter-claims to save face. Don’t think the disturbingly misogynistic and abuse-apologist attitudes (”Women are so good at playing victim!” “Women make abuse allegations to bolster their reputation!” “Video-taping your abuser being violent is intentional provocation!”) people are taking about this makes this any better for Depp.

Defenders of Depp get blocked unless you somehow have some of that video evidence of Heard being The Real Abuser. Kisses!

Betsy Dobson died on a Tuesday morning. Andrew was still asleep when his phone rang. Neil answered, because Neil was always up early. Even though they’d both retired, he never missed a morning run.

It was Wymack. Neil shook Andrew awake and handed him the phone with a look that immediately had him on alert. He was still not prepared.

Bee had a heart attack. Her second one, but this one she did not recover from. She was too old now. Her body too frail. It took its toll and left her empty. The doctors said it was quick and it was painless.

For who? Andrew wondered.

Now he stood under an awning set up to keep the sun out. Neil by his side, a retinue of his past behind him. His old teammates were here, Wymack was here, his brother was here. Nicky couldn’t make the trip from Germany, but he was devastated to Andrew’s satisfaction. Because the world had lost something wonderful and pure and bright and the fact that there were people who did not know this.

Who did not know  her.

Made Andrew want to scream. But he didn’t. He stood next to Neil and let him rub soothing circles into his back. He listened to a person he did not know and Bee did not know say things about her he could not have possibly known. He watched as her casket was lowered into the ground. He stayed when everyone else but Neil walked away. Until finally his husband pulled him toward the car. Toward the wake.

At least so you can get some food. You need to eat something.

Andrew did not eat anything.
