Finished V3 recently and that certainly was an experience. Not as fulfilling and satisfying as the other games, but interesting in its own way. I didn't like the ending, it was awful for Danganronpa as a franchise, BUT I liked the message they delivered with that ending and if you take only THIS game into consideration... It's still not very good, but it has some charm to it. So I respect it and appreciate the game for what it's done well, cause there are definitely some very good choices made. The characters are nice (even though a half of them were pretty blank for me, the other half was very nice and memorable, gifting us with some of the most interesting Dr characters ever), the cases are harder than ever (even though some of the aspects are.. questionable) and we've got a very nice main heroes, who grow and evolve throughout the game in a very satisfying way (which is rare for a Dr character). This trio steals your heart immediately, as for the first time each one of them has an interesting dynamic with the other and it's so easy to get involved in whatever they have going on.
So, this game is far from perfect, but still has a lot to appreciate it for.
I was not expecting my post about changes in Kaito and Kokichi's interactions to garner so many comments along the lines of, "huh, that's weird, I've only ever heard of JP Kaito's TEN BILLION homophobic transphobic misogynistic lines being removed by the localization team, you're telling me he was sometimes nicer in the original Japanese?" When 1. what they're really referring to is a single line of dialogue and 2. yeah guys, isn't it crazy what you find when you actually analyze the text instead of blindly believing fandom rumors? Anyway everyone go read this thread and remember that if Kaito is a raging homophobe, chances are you have a favorite anime character who has used the exact same language he did but their fandom chose to ignore it completely.
