Last night I was chatting with a friend and I was suddenly struck with the inspiration to write a goofy little blurb about windbombing or whatever for my fic Shattered Body.

A circular, glowing blue, bomb rests in an area of freshly cut grass, slowly wobbling back and forth. Its glowing, square, counterpart is balanced on top, wobbling even more than the circle bomb. Balanced on top of both of them, their arms out wide and a grin on their face, is Link, dressed in casual Sheikah clothes.

Off to the side, a safe enough distance away, Paya looks out past a mossy boulder. She's clasping a hand in front of her face, the look in her eyes equal parts concerned and incredulous.

"Are you sure?"

"Mmhm!"

"Okay, Link."

They flash her a thumbs up, then quickly rebalance themself.

"Three."

They brace their legs.

"Two."

Paya gently thumbs the button on the slate, her pointer already holding the trigger down.

"One."

They grin, wild and unhylian.

"Go," says Paya, pressing the button down as the word leaves her mouth.

The sound of a Sheikah tech bomb exploding will never not be weird to Paya, with how different it is to a bomb arrow's blast. No hiss of fuse and fire, just the hum of that blue magic and the wall of force blasting outwards. Wind rushes through her loose hair as the circle bomb explodes, sending the square bomb, and subsequently, Link, rocketing into the air at speed.

"No fucking way," murmurs Paya, an involuntary smile plastered on her face. "It WORKED!"

She drops the slate to the ground to shield her eyes from the sun and scans the sky for the hero, standing as she does. After a moment of searching, she spots Link floating back down on their paraglider, seemingly after being thrown relatively high into the air. Their distant laugh catches on her ears and can't stop from flapping her hands, a happy laugh pealing off her lips as well.

If you're gonna hold signs, make them BIG like you're actually trying to do something. Have them in multiple languages.

Make other signs that say clever or cutting things that will make him rage for days. "DOESN'T OLD TRUMP LOOK TIRED?" or "PUPPET PRESIDENT" or "EVERYONE IS FACT-CHECKING THIS SPEECH TRUMP DIDN'T WRITE" or "THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES" or his current tanking approval rating next to a laughing emoji.

Make a stink every day in congress, throw as many bills as you can on the floor even if they go nowhere, look like you're trying.

Have someone, idk maybe someone you actually want to boost for President in 3 gd years, be your voice of opposition in the media, loudly complaining and telling the facts, every single day. Let the people know you're there!

How hard is this? There's probably better suggestions than mine if they actually hired seasoned protestors or behaviorists/psychologists or even the biggest teenage troll they can find on a messageboard.

Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.

The International Criminal Court warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu is a major development towards real consequences for Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people, but it's still too early to say what will result from it. While the United States tries to obstruct international law, we can't lose sight of the most important thing in this conflict: The ongoing need to help the people who are still trapped in Gaza.

The situation on the ground right now is dire. The "alleged" war crimes are very much real, and very much affecting real people who have been deprived of shelter and basic necessities throughout the horrors of this genocide.

Ahed Alanqar is one of those people, having to provide for his three daughters in the midst of war crimes. To be clear, that is absolutely heroic. Surviving in these conditions by itself is hard enough, managing to scrape by enough to take care of three kids, ages 1, 6 and 9? That's already difficult without the war crimes!

Everything in Gaza is expensive and hard to find. Everything. There is no source of income, and Ahed and his family are reliant on donations to survive. This is something we can help with. Okay so that AU with Link and Dark Link being companions. I did a little thinking.

Timeline wise, it's set after Twilight Princess and before Four Sword Adventure, if only for thematic freedom.

Link starts their journey as a farmhand at a small family run orchard (their family) and knows some swordplay & whatnot because they help shoo away low level monsters. Has minor magical knowledge because they occasionally help their mother put cushioning or preservation charms on the more fragile fruits.

The orchard is about half a day's walk from the nearest village (Ordon, but a couple hundred years older than TP.) Between them, there's a shrine where the first plot hook is.

Their family's orchard primarily grows Apples, Peaches, and Plums (in order of yield)

I have some outfit notes for Link as well, but they get to be below the cut because this is long enough as is <3

Clothes & Gear:

The classic green tunic, of course (short sleeved)

Short sleeved chain mail and gambeson underneath

Long-sleeved shirt underneath (sleeves are almost always rolled up though)

Dorky waxed canvas half-cloak <3 (Subtle embroidery along the edges)

The oh-so-classic cone hat (very crumpled and adorned with a crown of yellow flowers)

Baggy pants

More than enough belts & straps to attach things to (two around the waist, one across their chest that connects to one of the waist ones and one on their mid-thigh.

Almost impractically tall boots (full calf) that they wear for style and style alone

Leather bracers

Hair notes:

Long hair that's usually pulled up into a (very messy) bun either hidden up under their hat or low enough to be visible under the hem of the hat.

The Legend sideburns. You know the ones.

Lightly desaturated blonde with shock-silver streaks (from the stress of a soul split.) Most noticeable in the roots.

Other:

Link has slightly glowy white freckles

Tanned skin from working on a farm

Muscles!

Bluish green eyes

Thinner build

Dark Link notes:

Basically, he's the same as Link, just with a different color scheme.

Greens to deep dark blues (tunic, half-cloak, hat)

Yellows to purples (the flowers!)

Blonde to a deep purple-black & shock-silver to a silvery lavender! (hair)

Browns to dark reds (pants, long sleeve shirt) and blacks (boots, belts)

Dark Link has black freckles that still glow, just even more dimly

Purplish red eyes

Pale skin, no matter how much they try to get a tan

Golly I totally forgot to post anything about this little fic idea I had a bit ago (yes it's Zelda again because i'm just so creative)

So, Wild. Breath of the Wild Link. TotK too, I suppose.

We all know the whole story with the calamity, riiiiight? Link gets very violently almost killed or killed or whatever by guardians at Blatchery Plain and then taken to the Shrine of Resurrection and spends a hundred years getting brought back.

I've got this sweet spot for those fics where link is super scarred and oh-so-fucked-up. And I also have sweet spot for Fullmetal Alchemist.

so why don't we do a bit of slap-chop here and there and- oh sorry about your shield arm Link wait whoops sorry for misplacing the lower half of your calf- (i'm sure he's fine)

Long explanation short, Link wakes up the the Shrine of Resurrection missing:

his shield arm (his left arm) from just below the shoulder

his right leg from mid-calf down (the only one of these not caused by a guardian beam)

most of his left ear

a handful of ribs

and also covered in various scars, mostly from malice and guardian beams.

Of course, over the past hundred years Purah has been trying to design some Sheikah tech prosthetics (and being very unhealthy about pouring herself into this work, may I add.) So once Link makes his way to Hateno she outfits him with a better prosthetic foot than the one in the chests in the Shrine and a functioning arm that's linked (heh) with the slate.

the arm can navigate through items in the slate with gestures, allowing link to pull some giant fuck off sword out of thin air

thumb and index finger for moving right, pinky and ring for moving left.

twitch wrist up or down to nav up and down in the slate

twist wrist to nav the quick access menus

various hand signs to confirm, relax the hand to cancel.

i think the funniest part of this au might be that in totk he loses his right arm as well and gets very grumpy about it even though Raru gives him a new one

im genuinely convinced that they used ai for the monthly thing on spotify wrapped. what do you mean may was my "coastal grandmother ukulele oldies" phase. august was "pink pilates princess strut pop??" no one would say that september was my "sweater weather permanent wave indie" moment. no way we waited so long for this. multiple people and i also noticed that it took a few seconds longer than usual to load, maybe im just impatient but i wouldnt be surprised if that was ai preparing like all of it as i clicked through. spotify has been using a lot of ai lately with the playlist making, dj, playlist cover designer and now whatever this ai podcast thing is.
