the thing that sucks is that people love saying sleep early is good etc etc and yeah it is. I've seen some benefits before. but I think it sucks to ignore that late night is the only time with any freedom. I think it sucks to not acknowledge the dread in waking up and it's a work day again

Israel has deployed auto-firing quadcopters that emit the sounds of crying babies.

There is no possible reality where this is in any way capable of being passed off as self-defense. It was never self-defense. It is, and always has been, a genocide.
Crying babies. Crying babies. This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, meant to draw out and kill civilians while also making it far more difficult to locate and aid children who are trapped or alone.
If you have money to spare, please consider donating to some of the fundraisers on Operation Olive Branch to help people escape this genocide.
End the occupation. Free Palestine.

it's so wild that the best lyric in pop music history ("tell your boyfriend / if he says he's got beef / that I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fuckin scared of him") and the worst lyric in history ("do the hellen keller and talk with yo hips") are both from the same song ("DONTTRUSTME" by 3OH!3). just. crazy how that works

Oh wow that actually makes sense! I know a lot of times when developing characters their roles are sometimes switched around or given to different characters to better fit the story or plot. I do get the sense that maybe Hector was intended to have more screentime but was cut to focus more on the overarching plot of uniting the sundrop and moonstone, which is too bad because I feel like expanding his lore would add to the impact and influence of the moonstone and Dark Kingdom/brotherhood.
Oh absolutely, I loved getting to see Adira show off her impressive skill set, especially cause she caused friction with Cass 😆 also her duel with Hector was so cool and intense, I’m probably gonna go rewatch that scene on YouTube after this lol
I think one benefit to not having shown how Adira acquired her many talents is that it leaves the door open for fanfic writers and fans in general to come up with their own headcanons! I consider your interpretations of Adira/Hector in Incarnate to be canon 👍😊👍 you understand their characters so well!!
Yesss Adira hunting down magic artifacts would be perfect for a sort of monster of the week style show where she has to hunt down a different magic item and defeat monsters every episode, there’s so much potential for some really cool lore there.
OMG and here I thought you couldn’t get any cooler!!! That is so awesome that you’ve been trained in martial arts! I know Adira would think its cool too, though she’d probably want to spar with you to assess your skills lol
I so badly want to learn, my grandpa was a triple black belt in karate so it’s something I’ve always loved but sadly haven’t gotten the chance to do. One day I will though and I’ll make Adira proud! 😆
Ha ha yes I’d give anything to see that conversation go down! “What do you mean you want a rhino? Where do you even get a-oh you have one”
I bet Hector found and rescued the rhino and he bonded with him and refuses to leave Hector’s side. Kind of hard to say no to that! Rhinos are also these intimidating creatures of great power and strength but that also have a great capacity for compassion and loyalty which is very reminiscent of Hector himself so it’s very fitting for him.
Ofc! I must share your amazing work with the world, i enjoy the heck out of it and I know other TTS and brotherhood fans will too!
I definitely feel more of a connection with buff female characters as well, especially in animated shows. Also I’m bi and I just adore strong women lol 🥰
Yup I love that detail, it’s a great way of showing that Adira is fiercely loyal and dedicated without outright having to say it. I love when character designs inform an essential part of the characters personality and values, it’s always a sign that a lot of thought was put into creating them.
Ahh yes exactly!! I know many cultures, specifically indigenous ones, have face paint and face tattoo designs that have different meanings attached to them, so it would’ve been really cool to draw inspiration from these amazing cultures and apply them to Hector and Adira’s designs.
Also I wanted to say I’m having so much fun discussing TTS stuff on here!
Alright, Time for My Reaction to Show Bible Brotherhood: Part 1
Tumblr media
Excellent summary of what we got in the show, but sadly lacking in deeper character development. Given how mysterious and controversial she was set up to be, Adira deserves WAY more backstory and character details. - Why not give her more opportunities to drop extravagant bits of lore about all of her adventures? Like a running gag where she's in the middle of a story, and we only get to hear two or three sentences that make us go "Wait, what?" before she gets cut off? For that matter why couldn't we get more snippets of her adventures in the DK/before it fell?? - Most or all of her "eccentric" traits from the show come across as very neurodivergent/invisible disability-coded, and I've been saying she's canonically autistic for a couple years now. I'll take this as extra confirmation of that, I guess?

This is a really cool analysis of the brotherhood and neurodiversity! I definitely agree with your take that some of the brotherhood experience symptoms of or have PTSD, given everything they’ve gone through and what’s been implied in their pasts.
I also find it fascinating to headcanon them as having PTSD or trauma related symptoms because they all deal with it/react to it very differently. Quirin hides and avoids anything to do with his trauma, and it sounds like Edmunds brain sort of rewired itself to cope with his past experiences and made him a different person.
I’m really glad you brought up thought broadcasting, I didn’t know there was a word for it! I’ve done it my whole life, I always just referred to it as “thinking out loud” which is still technically accurate lol but it’s not something I really have control over, similar to Edmund. I find it difficult to process or do certain things if I’m not saying what I’m thinking or talking myself through the process.
I struggle with lying too! I hate doing it and avoid lying at all costs, it takes way more energy for me to lie and I’m not very good at it, my first instinct is always to be honest, even if it’s to my detriment. Whenever I lie, my brain tells me that whoever I’m lying to can tell I’m not being honest just by looking at me. Plus I’m not good at it so that is sometimes the case 😅 I tend to stumble over my words and use too much detail when I’m trying to lie which tends to be a giveaway lol
If all the brotherhood is neurodivergent, what disorders do you think Quirin and Edmund have?
Thank you for asking @nerdasaurus1200! Quirin is actually the only member of the Brotherhood that I see being neurotypical, unless PTSD is considered a form of neurodivergence. I've heard that some people consider it to be, but based on my research most forms of neurodiversity seem to be a result of someone's brain being wired a certain way based on their genetics. PTSD, on the other hand, is a disorder that results from intense trauma, so I'm not completely sure I'd classify it as a form of neurodiversity. (I'd have to do some more research on the current definitions and classification system to be more confident.) Based on Quirin's intense avoidance of anything to do with the black rocks, the Dark Kingdom, and his past in general, I'd say he definitely struggles with some degree of PTSD. Edmund probably does as well, especially after losing an arm and isolating himself in the Dark Kingdom for 25 years. (I'll admit PTSD is also kind of cheating when it comes to the Brotherhood, because they all undoubtedly have it.) Edmund's most obvious symptom of mental disorder would be his habit of saying everything he thinks out loud, and not being able to distinguish whether he's saying his thoughts out loud or thinking them silently to himself. He also exhibited (what I'd consider) very mild delusion in "The Return of the King" during his conversation with Eugene about dueling for his pocket-pudding. I tried researching his saying-everything-he-thinks symptom, and sadly the closest thing that I got from skimming some medical/health articles on Google was "thought broadcasting". Thought Broadcasting is actually the exact opposite of what Edmund deals with; it describes a condition where someone believes or fears that their personal thoughts aren't private, and that everyone around them knows or can hear their personal thoughts. (With interesting varieties such as believing you should be able to telepathically communicate with somebody if you try hard enough, because you believe your private thoughts are accessible by everyone around you.) Thought Broadcasting and delusions are symptoms of psychosis, which includes conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. (Schizophrenia actually does have certain genetic risk factors as well as environmental risk factors.) Edmund I think probably has some form of psychosis due to trauma, but there's not enough canon info about him for me to decide if he had any kind of genetic leaning towards developing psychosis. Quirin's canon evidence definitely leans toward PTSD. But again, all that evidence points to it being caused solely by the trauma he experienced. If I were going to firmly categorize their trauma-based disorders as also being forms of neurodiversity (the way I believe Adira and Hector are canonically autistic and/or adhd respectively), I'd have to do a lot more in-depth research into how neurodiversity is officially defined and classified. (And I know there's still a lot of research and categorizing being done by today's doctors and scientists, so I may not find a cut-and-dried answer.)

I can totally see Hector as a Special Forces operator! He’s clearly an accomplished fighter with an extremely special and specific skill set and he’d still get to have his animal companions in battle! My dad was actually in the special forces for a good while so I’ve gotten a pretty good sense for the kind of archetype that fits that sort of career, Hector would absolutely excel in the field. I imagine he might rub some people the wrong way but they’d absolutely trust him to have their back in a fight and respect him for his cunning and fighting prowess. Plus the military and special forces are basically a brotherhood themselves. You form deep trauma bonds lol
As for Adira, it makes total sense that she’d have a ton of different hobbies/careers and travel around. I could honestly see her as influencer as well, she reminds me of some of the travel/adventure social media people I follow. (I also adore Jeremy Wade lol)
Her being a philanthropist is so fitting too, she’s all about helping people. Plus I think she’d be very aware of the privilege of her platform and want to use it to benefit others as well as herself. All her travels would definitely make her more aware of world issues and what kind of help actually makes a difference.
Also I’m just imagining a scene where she shows up to an expedition in the rain forest with some other scientists and conservationists and she’s got hand crafted weapons and tools and does practically all the heavy lifting and is constantly telling the most unbelievable but true stories about her adventures and accomplishments 😆 everyone would be like “who did we just invite on our expedition??”
Thanks so much for answering this! It’s so fun to think about favourite characters in different universes 😊
If Hector and Adira were in the modern world, what jobs do you think they’d have?
I can definitely see Hector working with animals in one way or another. Given his combat skills and the fact that he works in an elite military group from the Dark Kingdom, I think his modern day job could easily be a soldier in the Special Operations Forces. Specifically who trains/works with CADs (Combat Assault Dogs), like belgian malinois:
youtube
Adira I can see being a social media influencer. WAIT - HEAR ME OUT: She may be full of herself, but she's not an entitled, annoying brat, like many of today's influencers are stereotyped as. She does gig-work as a world class chef. She's the one-woman-mashup of the Gator Boys and Jeremy Wade(River Monsters). She's a professional martial artist and nature conservationist, who crafts her own weapons for fun and makes regular trips into endangered rainforests (both for academic research and raising awareness). She has countless posts on every social media platform about her various jobs and hobbies. She live-streams on a regular basis. She's one of the most prolific philanthropists of the influencer world, regularly donating to charities of any kind.
And when her 'brother in arms' from the Green Berets calls her about a job that he and his CADs needs help with, well... She's happy to temporarily come out of retirement once in a while. 😏

Ooh this is a perfect answer!
I remember watching What the Hair for the first time and being very intrigued by the concept of Rapunzel’s hair magically growing back and what possible connection the black rocks had to her hair/powers
Plus I really like the different dynamics Rapunzel has with both Cass and Eugene. While it’s very clear she cares about them both, the way she interacts with them and the nature of the relationship is very different! I think this difference really helps to expand all their personalities.
Ofc! I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that! I’ll do my best to interact with your posts 😊💜
If you had to pick one scene from TTS to convince someone who’s never seen it before to watch it, what scene would you choose?
Probably the very last scene from S1E1: What the Hair?, when Raps starts telling Eugene about the night that she and Cass snuck out. Rapunzel and Eugene are both characters we already know and love. The presence of her long blonde hair definitely creates intrigue about how in the world it came back. And those who haven't seen the show before get an intriguing introduction to Cass and her relationships with both Rapunzel and Eugene based on the conversation they have. And then, of course, the black rocks themselves (which Rapunzel states might be the reason for her blonde hair coming back) make an appearance right after Rapunzel claims they "stopped growing." And then everything goes black. (Also thank you so much for sending me asks and interacting with my posts while I'm shadowbanned! 🥰🫂)

Adira is such a cool and interesting character, it really is unfortunate how little info we get about her seeing as she plays a very pivotal role in the story. It’s constantly implied that she has had many adventures throughout her years that turned her into the incredibly confident and capable fighter we see in the show, yet we barely get a glimpse into her past. It’s like that rule, show don’t tell. It’s much more impactful to SEE what she’s accomplished rather than just saying “oh she did a bunch of cool stuff.”
I totally agree with your analysis of her being autistic coded. I’m autistic myself and after getting back into the show after a few years it’s very apparent that she displays some autistic/neurodivergent traits. Even if it isn’t canon or wasn’t intended it’s still nice to to see such a strong, capable warrior character with some of the same quirks as me! It’s inspiring to see myself in a character I adore.
I’d give anything for an Adira/brotherhood of the dark kingdom spinoff where we get to see her backstory and adventures as well as the origin story of the brotherhood and everything they’ve accomplished over the years. Luckily I’m reading an amazing fanfic by the lovely @th3p0rtalmaker about just that! I highly recommend it, it’s a dark canon divergence story about what would have happened if Hector took the moonstone. It delves into Adira and Hector’s relationship as well as expanding the lore of the brotherhood. You can read it here:
Adira’s design alone makes her a standout character to me, you can clearly tell she’s not from Corona and that she has an intriguing past. Her armour and face paint indicate a dedication to her role as warrior, she never takes either off (that I can remember lol) which only further contrasts her from our main cast of characters. Plus I’m always a sucker for buff women characters 😆 we really don’t get enough lol

Pinned Post: Incarnate Fanfic Link
Summary:
Hector took an oath to protect the world; he couldn't allow anyone the chance to take the Moonstone for themselves. Rapunzel had a destiny to fulfill and a kingdom to save; she couldn't sit back and do nothing, like her father. When both of them ultimately fail, the Moonstone is free to make its will known for the first time in millenia.
Forced to carry the power he fears and loathes above all else, Hector is desperate for redemption - desperate enough to give Adira's treasonous plan a try. Rapunzel's worldview begins to crumble as she learns to discern her own flawed humanity from the magical essence she was fused with before her birth.
(Been meaning to put this up for a while)

I don’t wanna sound ungrateful cause I’m so appreciative of the amazing response I’ve gotten from posting my art on here but since I’ve started advertising commissions, I’ve exclusively been contacted by scammers for commissions 😭😭😭 it’s so disheartening tbh
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, do you have any recommendations for mitigating the amount of scammers? Any advice is welcome lol
I’ve been saving all the nice comments and tags I’ve gotten on my art though as a nice lil reminder of the wonderful and welcoming community on here, y’all are the best 🥰🥰🥰
