The strife of kingship was one Nikomachos did not take to naturally. His logic was sparse, and his reasoning often failed to identify overt solutions, yet Eurynome, his curious betrothed, why she had an eye for politics. Her life among court, although as a mere entertainer, had wrought her many appearances in the kingly chamber, as her gymnastics enthralled the men she kept a keen ear on their jabbering. From trade, to war, to personal grievances, the woman learnt how to navigate the politics of the Aegean without even having stepped on the oratory stage. She begged Nikomachos to divulge every Ekklesia meeting and every Ephorate debacle as she met their drama with succinct and mature management, but unfortunately her little bird was not one to actually rule or care for his region, instead, to live off its precedented wealth and assumption of obliviousness. His foolishness was a burden that only Eurynome could supersede, for as a bird of a paradise she could dance and dance to his song so that her own lyrics could overcome his own in a ventriloquist concerto.

Regency Era Accessories Part 6: Charlotte Bonnets

Hi, Happy New Year! I made these bonnets back in April but have had issues but as of recently, I've fixed most of them. They're hat hairs, and I converted them from maya40 who was kind enough to send me some meshes she didn't release. I did change the mesh to make a few variants and changed textures aside from swatch 31 which was the original swatch.

You get 9 Charlotte Bonnet Hat Hairs for your married regency ladies of the upper crust. The plain version without roses or bows could work for the middle class and slightly below! These can even be worn by your old early Victorian widows who can't let the fashion of their youth go! Appropriate for the 1800s-1830s, but do as you please! There are 3 different types of bonnets, each with 3 different hairs. The hairs are just these ones, I believe I took the roses from this set? I'm not sure, I made these in April of 24'.

Found in the Hat category, 31 swatches, I think you need growing together for them to work, but I could be wrong because I did embed all external resources in s4s so it may vary.

These are all VERY HIGH POLY, ranging from 16k-28k. The ones with roses and bows have the most poly, so download them with caution. No, they can't be decimated more in blender without looking like a mess, I've tried.

KNOWN ISSUES: I unfortunately could not close the holes on the side of some versions of these, which is weird because I used the same base. The vertex paint is green in blender on all of the hats, so I'm unsure what went wrong, but I'll show you what I mean. It's not a noticeable issue. I also have upgraded to dx11 and batch fixed my cc, so if the texture looks weird for you in your game, you should update to dx11. I've already batch-fixed these with s4s. Don't forget to download the hair color file, it's needed or else you won't have any hair with your bonnets!

Here, you can see the small pieces of hair poking out from the bonnets. It's not that noticeable when playing your game.

Another thing, if you want these to look the same color in my game you need to get a lighting mod. This doesn't make your game lag, you need this if you don't want the bonnet to look a bluish gray color. I use bright base dark rooms. I also use gentle cas lighting, no this won't make your game lag either. It just helps with the weird blue color that EA naturally has for some reason. Without a lighting mod, the cap will look like this

His betrothed, Eurynome, held quite the reputation of his own father’s company, for she was but a dancer, and a racer, who’s salacious acrobatics in festival processions earned her the attention of the spellbound heir. He was entirely enamoured, or rather “cuntstruck” as the priapic rhetoric of his men would suggest. She had the young king so tightly wrapped around her finger that his fits of wine-induced delirium found Himeros’ dragging the two into a cacophony of lustful desperation where each word she whispered dripped into his mind like warm honey and murex dye. And, despite near every Ephor in the Ekklesia warning Nikomachos against the transgression that was this dizzying woman, herald Aphrodite cursed the boy as he demanded the depraved dancer to be his wife.

Oh dear, young, idiotic King Nikomachos II, son of Demosthenes of Mycenae. Or, rather some smaller provincial kingdom of north-western Lakonia, to rather generalise, from which his great Eurypontid house needed to expel him; with a reign that proves as just as trivial and hedonistic as he. Powdered in rouge as an effeminate leukochrōs, Nikomachos, deformed and ill-bred, possibly a bastard of helot whisper and beheld among five elder sisters, the boy’s kingship was a jest among all the Peloponnese behind closed doors. Yet, in his Kastro Koiláda Chalkou, the scrutiny of the Ekkelisa could not reach him and his whore-bride to be, Eurynome, for the luxury and the splendour of Dionysos and Demeter’s sweet ecstasy were irresistibly intoxicating. For who has time for leading trade routes and waring territory when the pig has only just been carved?

so, what is this? i actually am not sure yet, will it be gameplay, will it be story? we will find out at some point, but i just desperately wanted to play with the late bronze age because as an ancient history and linguistics major, it is my duty. i have always been deeply in love with my hellenistic greco-roman history and thought it would be quite fun to delve into a period i am not as familiar with with the Mycenaeans, to see what i can learn. also considering the beautifully accurate amount of cc clothing for this era, particularly by @clepysdra which i feel the classical age is lacking in among historical cc compared to the bronze age. BUT in speaking of accuracy, those that noticed i referenced the Eurypontid house of the diarchic Spartans, the Ekkelisa and the names of my sims themselves, for the sake of my own enjoyment, i WILL be snatching names for funsies with no relation to their historical origin, but i do want to try my best to make this accurate to Mycenaean culture/dress/relgion, etc. but i am still learning about this fascinating time. i also want to give the BIGGEST praise and thank you to @kyriat-sims for her absolutely beautiful early civilisation save that she’s created, as well as the build featured in this post (which you can find HERE and HERE) as although i tweaked the interior to my manic over-cluttered taste, the castle shell itself is done by her and it’s so brilliant <3

Love and Other Liaisons: Four Trio Poses

I saw this beautiful painting by Jack Vettriano and was inspired to make a set of poses based of off it. And, of course, who better to model it than our resident alleged love triangle? (Who could probably benefit from letting go of that jealousy a little that’s all I’m saying…)

You will need:

Pose Player

Teleport Any Sim

Musae’s right hand cigarette accessory

To use:

Place three teleporters in the middle of a dining chair. I recommend the one from Cozy Bistro Kit, which I used for this pose and will cause the least amount of clipping.

I also recommend The Countess Dress here, as the middle sim’s pose was made for it. But the hand placements should work on most dresses.

These poses were made using my own sims, and although they were tested on the default rigs, there is always the chance for floating or clipping depending on the sim.

Elio recalled his nervousness on the day he asked Vittoria's father for his blessing for her hand in marriage, so certain that the older man would turn him down. After all, Vittoria was his only daughter and Elio was so young and boyish still, surely he'd think he wasn't worthy or mature enough to be a married man.

Much to his surprise, the exact opposite had happened.

Vittoria's father had considered his proposal, thought it over for a moment, and his reply was something that Elio knew he'd take to heart for the rest of his life --

"Il mio ragazzo, I may be old but I'm not a fool. I've watched you court my daughter all these years, I've seen the way she lights up whenever you enter the room, the way she laughs when you jest with her. Tell me, who am I to deny her a lifetime of that and more?"
