I LOVE TONY HALE SO MUCH AND He is a GENIUS in this role.  No one does subtle and not so subtle physical comedy like him. No-one does weird excessive devotion like him either.

Thank you, Tony Hale, for making Gary Walsh the bag man that fans loved and Selina Meyer needed. 

You deserve all the praise you’ve gotten for this role and so much more.

FanFic renaissance

Suddenly, now CXG is over, and all the Nathaniel hate has waned, my fanfic ( mainly Nathaniel’s backstory) is getting kudos.  I always wrote it for myself, to explore why I liked him so much.  Not just as an endgame for Rebecca, but as an exploration of orthorexia, an exploration of apathy and trying to humanise someone I could see was hurting. I don’t put as much time into my fic as I would like to, but I like to explore how I think he might have felt as a way of processing my own issues.  I hope you enjoy them. https://archiveofourown.org/users/CriticalCXGShipped/works

I call canon

this was supposed to be for the 3.08 timehop, but i’ve sat on it long enough now that it’s gonna be post-canon headcanons:

about a month into his new life, nathaniel starts to feel the pangs of homesickness

he briefly considers calling his father, but he dismisses the thought on the grounds that it’d probably only make him feel worse

so he checks the mountaintop facebook page, looking for tidbits on how things are going there without actually having to contact any of the weirdos and alert them to the fact that he kinda misses them

when that doesn’t work, nathaniel’s mind wanders to rebecca

he supposes there’s no harm in reaching out to see how the cases at the county jail are going – he is genuinely interested, after all – but every text he composes feels too demanding. the wounds are too fresh and the situation too complicated

which is what leads him to sitting down and writing out a letter - the formality of it feels safer somehow

it doesn’t hurt that imagining rebecca’s excitement over having a pen pal makes him smile
