After I watched the last Bungou Stray Dogs episode, I wanted to post my thoughts about Chuuya not being a vampire.

I wouldn't have been against him actually being one, but in all honesty I like this choice more because, as a Chuuya fan, I was mad when we first saw him as a vampire.

In Storm Bringer he struggled so much in finding humanity in him; he basically had an identity crisis after N showed him the lab and wanted to convince him he was an artificial homuncolus, and him being forced to shoot the person he trusts the most under Fydor's influence, being used to kill Dazai as a monster and not as a human?

It would have broken him.

That's why I'm glad it was all part of their weird shenanigans.

I don't know if Dazai knew from the very start Chuuya wasn't under Fydor's control, but he obviously realized it after he stopped the elevator with his gravity manipulation.

Anyway, that's my personal thought on this wonderful episode, I can't wait for Asagiri to catch up with the anime (It feels so weird saying it 😅) because I need to know what happens next.

I wanted to write a little appreciation post for my two favourite characters in Fruits Basket: Kisa and Ayame Sohma.

They’re polar opposites, I know; but the most interesting aspect to me is exactly how different their personalities are and how they react to trauma. Fruits Basket is such a complex show filled with raw emotions; the author was so skilled into showing a wide range of reactions from the whole cast in different prospectives. Victims and not.

Starting with Kisa, I’ve immediately felt pulled to her character, as someone who in the past experienced something similar to what happened to her, I could relate a lot with her character. Keeping all her emotions to herself, refusing to speak and isolate herself in her own suffering. I’m not justifying not victimize her behaviour, nor the one of her teachers; however, I found myself agreeing with Hatsuharu’s statement. Her attachment to Tohru is also related to that; she felt safe with her because she could understand her emotions, didn’t judge her nor pressure her and -little by little- encouraged her to face her emotions.

Ayame, on the other hand, uses his flamboyant and extravagant persona to face the majorities his problems, joking around, flirting with everyone who has two legs and breaths basically. But, in my opinion, this chaotic exuberance is used to mask and hide all the difficulties he faced in the Sohma estate. Something similar to what Kagura felt -at first- for Kyo _ befriending him out of pity because she was cursed as well but “thankfully” she wasn’t affected by the Cat’s one. Ayame’s behaviour with Yuki is very similar, avoiding him, feigning as if he wasn’t even there; he’s the Snake, but at least not the Rat, and his mother’s behaviour didn’t help at all. The scene when Yuki tries to reach for him and Ayame breaks away from his grasp is so painful and evidently still haunts him to these days. They were seen as tools and he’s trying to fix that problem using extravagant and exuberant methods (for example the scene at the lake trip, even if he failed miserably) but, in my personal opinion, not extroverted. We see it in his interactions with Mine; she’s the one reprimanding him over his actions with Yuki and Tohru (same as Hatori), being the chaotic partner in crime in his Atelier but also the shoulder he can lean to in moments of need.

This is, obviously, only my personal take.

I just like their characterization so much and they’re equally my favourite characters in this beautiful show.

I finally watched “Bungou Stray Dogs: BEAST” and it destroyed me emotionally! Rui Tabuchi and Masashi Taniguchi made me cry three times during the movie; especially during the scene at Lupin’s. I read the novel two years ago but seeing those scenes in action was devastating. The action moments between Atsushi and Akutagawa were great, maybe the Rashomon felt a bit off in some parts but I enyojed them nonetheless. Kyouka and Atsushi’s interactions were adorable; all sugar and honey while Akutagawa was bleeding on the floor ... poor boy- Last, but not least, Chuuya’s reaction at Dazai’s “ending” during the post credit scene felt like a punch in my stomach, Keisuke Ueda did it wonderfully. I was a sobbing mess at the end of this film, but it was worth it.

In future One Piece chapters, I need a scene where Vivi and Robin are fighting together having each other's backs, while the rest of the Straw Hats are just sweating in distress for their interactions.

Something like Nami and Hatchan's reunion in Sabaody Archipelago.

I really think it will be funny and interesting to see them being friends 😅
