Godzilla Monster Picture Book (2000)

This is a neat children’s book where you flip specially-cut pages to create an effect where Godzilla is fighting the other monsters. There are also Mothra and Gamera books in this same style!

So I realized I went all this time without sharing this tattoo!

Godzilland tattoo, technically the beginning of a kaiju sleeve. After healing, there’s a few spots that need touching up. I know the green colors aren’t exact for where they should be, though I felt having the fins the darker green instead would work better for a tattoo!

I also designed the tattoo myself!

Godzilla X Hamtaro

From the best of my understanding, in 2003 Toho had a movie double bill with Tokyo SOS and an animated Hamtaro film. Along with that came some mini figures of Hamtaro dressed as various Toho monsters! I know at least some (maybe all) of these were perks for advance ticket purchases. Pics not mine - grabbed from Google search results.

The Greatest Manga of All Time

These scans are from a manga called The Great Battle III and it’s based on the 1993 Super Famicom beat ‘em up of the same name.

The game is part of The Compati Hero Series: a decades-long video game franchise with Gundam, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider! But it gets better…

Godzilla and his pals appear in two Compati Hero games: Battle Baseball and Battle Dodgeball. This manga opens with a game of baseball… featuring the Toho monsters!

As far as I know, this is the only manga adaption of a game from the Compati Hero series, and the only licensed manga to have characters from Godzilla, Gunam, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider!

(Another fun fact: The biggest character on the manga cover is Fighter Roar, an original character by Banpresto. His mask is the Banpresto logo!)

These hit Japan in 1985 and stand about 2 inches tall each. Shown here are the Bride, the Cheerleader, the Playboy Bunny Waitress, and Girl with Plaid Dress. Missing are a Train Ticket Taker and Girl in Polka Dot Dress.
