hihi, just curious. when u started up on etsy, did you advertise alot? what did you find worked best? or did it just get traction from etsy alone :>

Hiya! Honestly I didn't advertise a lot back then, I mainly relied on Etsy traction and did pretty ok :o I didn't have a lot of audience on my social medias so it ends up working great, especially for small niche fandom merch! Working on search terms and tags on your listings will help bring more eyes to your shop, and having clear product photos should entice potential buyers. Etsy ads are usually not worth it for niche fandoms I find, but it can be good for non-fandom original items if you keep in mind the additional costs.

Honestly it's mostly something I do for fun on the side so I don't focus on optimizing it as much as I should, but I think that's why Etsy is good option to start your shop. The fees are pretty high (and you need to price your items with it in mind), but it's usually a fee per sale rather than an upfront subscription cost. Plus, there's already a large market that shops on the platform so you don't have to plan out advertising campaign and drive traffic on your own. They have been noticeably more restrictive when opening shop compared to when I started, I'd recommend looking it up if you are able!

Do you ever plan on restocking some of the hello charlotte merch that is out of stock? For example the scarlett keychain or the charlotte and q84 stickers

Hi there, tldr I do plan to restock more HC merch (hopefully sooner than later, but I don't have a specific time yet)!

For the vessels keychains and stickers I plan to restock them once I get updated photos for these, it's been sitting around in storage because I don't have time to update them 😔

Also, I'll also be putting up some B-grade hc keychains as well on my standalone shop for the upcoming lny sale, specifically the dried flower Charlotte/Frei and the trio (Bennett/Felix/Florence).

Hai just checking to see if you’re considering restocking the Binah/Angela plushies

Hi there! I'll consider restocking them in the far future with enough interest or if there's a large event I'll be attending, but currently I don't plan to restock these yet. The dolls do take a lot of space and a lot of money upfront to stock, and I want to cycle through different ideas first ^^; In the future I hope to create something like a restock interest (for limited items) where people can put in a small amount of money into a fund, once it hits a certain amount I'll place the restock order (and people who deposited some money get a discount!)

For now, I have a few straggling Binah left I'm putting on my shop if you'd like!

hi!! a few questions about your merch stuff.. would you ever consider turning the little running sephirah standees into stickers? i love them quite a lot, but i do not have the space for standees very often... i would be very interested if you decided to! second, theoretically, what would be the process for commissioning one of the dolls? like, price range and such? simply out of curiosity.. ty for your time, and adore your work! :)

Hiya! For your first q, yes I do! I want to make them into small stationery stickers sheets or packs alongside the ALEPH designs, I'm still playing with the layout that fits everyone <<; I'll try to get it done and put them up with a phone charm version for them..eventually

For the doll commission (and other types of merch comm), I generally charge the commission rate for the artwork (for dolls or simple chibi its 60 USD) plus the manufacturing cost (~100 USD for one offs, actual rates can vary depending on size and accessories). If I find the design fitting to sell on my store and we're in a mutual agreement, I can give a discount or waive the manufacturing cost. Once it's done and I've received it, I'll charge the shipping cost from me to you (rates dependent on items and locations). You can contact me through my shop email, directly through shopify (i think), on Etsy or on any soc med I'm actively on!

Hi there! I had two questions I'd like to ask you! Are there any plans to restock your Roland sandwich charm by any chance? Also I was wondering if you signed up for Anime North's artist alley for next year?

Hi hi, thanks for asking! I do want to restock the Roland sandwich charm in the future, but I have to work out a few kinks on the product quality first :o The first batch has some issues with the acrylic snapping, so I want to make the piece a lot sturdier this time around. I also wanna try and make other designs as well, if everything aligns >>

Also, I did sign up for Anime North this year! They're pulling artist names right now, so I'll know within the week if I can certainly table or not 🫡 Even if I don't make it, I'll hang around AN as attendee, it was a really fun experience last year!

1. New Standalone Shop

The new site (hopefully more permanent) for my shop is chikos-workshop.com! I've changed the shop hosting site to shopify for a few reasons, if you still have the .bigcartel link bookmarked please use this instead 🥹

Pro: You can Finally browse by both merch type and fandom now! Honestly this is mostly for me, but I love the ability to filter both ways.

I'm also playing with ways to update people on upcoming stuff! Currently using the listing feature, but looking forward to using either blog or email to send out shop updates!

Con: There isn't a goood way for Shopify to automatically apply the normal returning customer coupon, so you will have to type it out. I'll be working to at least make it easier for ppl shopping on Shopify to get the same discounts, but it'll not come out for a while. Also, for customers coming from Etsy, you can use the same code to get 10% off even if you haven't ordered from the standalone shop. Unsure if Etsy actually shows the name of the code though, to be looked into,,,
