On the topic of Limbus Sinners, do you ever find it weird too that Gregor's claw hand in his Base EGO has Malkuth, Gebura, Chesed, Binah and Hokma's symbols on it? Was there ever a connection between him and the Librarians aside from having similar Jewish origins? Or was there ever an explanation why Yesod, Hod, Netzach, Tiphereth and Kether's symbols weren't?

I refuse to believe that PM just stuck on only those specific symbols for aesthetics on Gregor's arm considering how much attention is paid to the details in their world. There has to be a reason but I'm pulling out my hair asking what it all means. Please send help. Or if you can't, send headcanons instead please. I just need a bone to gnaw on in this mystery.

Well, that's just one of the many mysteries with PM's storytelling, eh? The way they leave us pulling out our teeth and hair, hehe...

Now, I can't claim to be a Limbus expert; I don't seek out every inkling of lore as I did with LC and LoR, although based on my experience with PM's previous works, if we are to apply Occam's razor, then the reason behind the emblems being there is...reused art assets. Yup, believe it or not, I think that this could be one of the main reasons they're there, but at the same time, you have a point, Anon; it would be quite odd if they left reused assets on such an important sprite...

In which case, perhaps it's a call-back? A reference of sorts? I cannot find a link between these particular Sephirahs; Binah and Hokma, I can link them to the Smoke War, which formed an important part of Gregor's life. But Gebura, Malkuth, and Chesed...? What would they have to do with anything? It's a bit convoluted, I must admit, so I cannot say that I have an answer, but either it is something that will be so brilliant when PM eventually reveals what it is, ooooooooooooor...it'll just be another plot hole that PM will leave for us to fill one day, hehehe.

If it's alright with you, may I ask for some fluff and angst headcanons/imagines about the LC Traffic Light OT3 that is Ayin, Benjamin, and Carmen? They have a lot of good potential for both fluff and angst that are rarely explored together.

Thank you in advance if you do! The LC fandom appreciates all of the numerous and interesting imagines and headcanons you create, especially the sheer volume you have that it necesittes seperating the thoughts into seperate masterlists.

Ayin, Benjamin and Carmen headcanons

•okay, im like 90% sure that majority of newcomers to this universe only played LoR as LC is mostly overlooked due to the gameplay, and likely see Ayin as a terrible, irredimable guy

•he was not like that when his head was alright. Ayin was an introverted, silent guy of the 3, even if he was very smart

•Carmen is the "too much energy" extrovert friend that just does not shut up. But while some may see her as an evil woman, her pity for the people living in the city was real. Living there aint the best thing you know?

•Benjamin was a 3rd wheel, but funny enough, a mix of Ayin and Carmen's personalities. He is shy, but can be vocal about his ideas and opinion on what do these guys do

•Carmen is oblivious, Ayin loves Carmen, Benjamin loves Ayin, there, i said it. You can leave xd

•okay, but their relationship didnt start on the first sight. There were months and years even of these 3 being together

•Carmen was the one to invite majority of the Sephirahs into LC (including Benjamin) and encouraged Ayin to get to know them better. And Ayin, being an introvert, did so after some nudges from Carmen

•turns out he also liked their company alot

•Enoch and Lisa (Tiphereths) were unofficially adopted by Ayin and Carmen when they rescued the kids

•these 3 were living fine lives in Lobotomy Corporation before it all went downhill ....

•this is were you should stop scrolling cus it will be bad

-ok u good? Good? Ok-

•yeah, people die during accidents, and, trust me, they were upset when it happened

•but experiments failed and caused people to die, including some dear friends like Elijah, Enoch. Garion raided their facility, killed whoever she spotted.... You know how the Sephirahs died by now, dont you?

•in the end when Carmen took her own life... Ayin broke down. He didnt care if people died. He promised Carmen to finish what they had started... Regardless of how much more sinful acts he must commit. Going as far as to make that dreadful perfect scenario that didn't help his mental health

•a part of him tried to make himself feel better by making Angela, but that too, failed. But now Ayin didnt even have a slight motivation to either deactivate Angela or to let her live how she wanted. So, she just became another tool for the scenario to do

•it got so bad that Benjamin/Hokma had to erase Ayin's memories, calling him X. And politely asked Angela to watch over Ayin in case he starts going insane again

•Ayin, now X, is pretty oblivious to the relationships he had before now. Not that he minds it

•.... He still feels lonely in his room, X does not know what is he missing to feel like that

God I have so many I put them under the cut since I wrote way more than I thought I would LMFAO

Enoch and Lisa weren't the only ones who had different hair colours before death, Gabriel, Daniel, and Giovanni all had different hair before death. Gabriel's hair was a dark brown that was almost black, Giovanni's was a lighter shade of brown, and Daniel's was a brown ginger

Ayin had the best handwriting out of everyone, a simple print that looked almost mechanical, while Binah's, while a ridiculously fancy cursive, was nearly illegible. Carmen's handwriting was the definition of chicken scratch

When he went to the library, Argalia briefly got his pen back. He found it laying on the ground of the Kether floor

Chesed is scared of birds. Just in general. He loves them from afar and tends to admire them, but if the smallest parakeet gets near him he shuts down. Something to do with a facility breach

Roland is canonically the best cook, and I think Angela would be a close second since he tries his best to teach her as a way to enjoy food despite not being able to eat :) Malkuth and Hod are amazing at making pastries, and Tiphereth loves decorating whatever sweets they make

Netzach grew to have a bit of a crush on Angela after everything with the library happened and they all got sent to the outskirts. He thinks she's funny and loves talking to her. Constantly tries to find excuses to spend time with her and Roland

Angela is a trans man :)

Gebura, despite her massive mane of a hair, tends to be the one who helps everyone with haircuts. Gebura is the only one allowed to touch Tiphereth's hair since she is good at making braids. Netzach is also good with hair though, so whenever Gebura is busy, he's there to help in her place

Tiphereth also eventually warmed up a little more to Roland, and, on occasion, lets him braid her hair as well. Though it's nice, Roland does feel immensely upset when he does that, since it reminds him of a future he never got to have.

Daniel and Gabriel used to date, once Chesed and Yesod remembered their pasts, the two grew flustered when it came to being around each other

Angela, Yesod, and Binah tend to play mind games together, Roland gets dragged into their shenanigans sometimes. He never wins

Gebura started to drink tea with Binah to spite Chesed. He still refuses to give up on making her like coffee

Roland is good at singing! Chesed and Hod as well

Malkuth always signs her messages off with kaomojis

Malkuth and Yesod are best friends

Emma and Noah were married

Chesed, Yesod, Binah, and Malkuth are all brazilian or half brazilian

Moirai is genderless. Moirai doesn't use pronouns or anything like that, Moirai just exists

Philip, before everything went to shit, wrote poetry as a hobby. Coincidentally, most had religious undertones

Jae-heon was interested in theology, he enjoys it when Pluto talks about it, and lets Eileen talk about the Church of Gears

Before they started dating, Merry always showed up at Tommy's flower shop. He caught feelings for her at first sight, and started gifting her flowers with little cards that had the meaning of said flower on them

Pierre's first kill were her parents, she made a little lemonade stand-esque shop in front of her house to sell what she made, and a chef in District 23 took her in due to her potential

Binah is a cat person, they love cats, but never really bring it up

Angela still has occasional emotional outbursts, the same with Roland, due to remembering their pasts. The two are always there to comfort the other though, and are sure to never leave each other's side unless the other needs some alone time to breathe

Hokma is good at painting, he loves impressionism, however, when it comes to his own works, he always takes a approach that could be classified as tenebrism, since he enjoys painting abnormalities. He does occasionally paint the other sephirah, as well as Ayin, often.

Tiphereth is really good at sowing dresses, she uses Roland as a mannequin for them

Kali was heads over heels for Carmen, Carmen brought out her kindness she thought she lost when she became a colour fixer

Aside from Roland himself, there is nothing that Angelica loved more than Roland's cooking

Angelica is taller than Roland by quite a bit, being the same height as Argalia. It makes Roland melt every time she stands next to him

Iori and Ayin knew each other

Tanya and Greta are really close. At first Tanya found Greta too loud and a bit annoying, but she is now fond of her somewhat. Greta thinks she is really cool and has a bit of a crush on her

Elena and Angelica are exes

When Hod first saw Greta, while disliking her, she also had to tell herself not to let her awaken anything in her

Chesed constantly invites Yesod over for coffee, and the two tend to ramble about their mutual interests in science often

Chesed is actually very good with technology, and likes to make little gadgets and trinkets with the stuff he finds on Yesod's floor

Benjamin and Ayin are teenage year friends, they became inseparable from the moment they met. Benjamin kissed his cheek to say bye once before heading out, and Ayin went quiet for the rest of that full day

Ayin originally considered becoming a fixer. Before the corporation grew to be the head of the district, he worked part time as one. He was a fairly high grade, but nothing too insane.

Gebura treats Nothing There like her pet dog

Ayin, Benjamin, and Carmen all lived together. They all slept on the same bed, and they almost had to kick Carmen out of the bed since she would roll around in her sleep a lot. (They didn't, they are nowhere near that mean)

Most of the librarians are polyam, save for Hokma (obviously talking about the adults here Tiph is like 12)

Also they are all trans

Hey Ahmed! Don't worry about the response time, I'd much prefer a delayed thoughtful response than a rushed one, after all! For my first question: The outskirts are known for having all sorts of dangerous creatures, especially since they likely had to be kicked out from the City. More interesting to me, are the Outreaches, where presumably the K Corp singularity / Whatever the Pallid Whale is afraid of resides. Do you have any interest in exploring the monsters of the Outskirts/reaches, or are you more going to stay more city focused (Sweepers and the like)? For my second question, Assuming Angela and crew are even able to restore Carmen, what would they do with her? I know everyone would likely focus on city problems and all that. But we both know the more interesting thing: Resolution and angst, baby! How would Carmen try to resolve issues with Tiphereth, (Also makes me wonder about Ayin... So excited for Epilogue 2!) Ayin, and Angela?

Hello once more! As always, it's a pleasure to see your asks within my inbox, and once more, I see that you have quite the interesting asks! Although I know you don't mind the delays, allow me to apologise for nevertheless taking so much time to get to your ask, I hope the answer is worth the wait!

For your first question, it's an interesting one. I am quite fascinated by the monsters of the Outreaches/Outskirts and all of the lore implications they have. I think that eventually, PM will explore the Outskirts somehow, as they did mention wanting an Outskirts exploration game in their post-LoR interview (2020 or 2021, I think?), so I believe we will eventually get a glimpse as to what lies there, but as for what I believe lies there, it's difficult to tell. I think that, if K-Corp's singularity is but a child and yet possesses this much strength, it is certainly worrying to say the least to wonder what stronger, more powerful and more unhinged monsters lie there.

While I think it would be fun to explore such a setting, the lack of details makes coming up with anything but short stories a little difficult, and I admit that my favourite parts of LC/LoR are the Sephirahs and the main cast in general. I don't think I'll focus on the Sweepers again for a while, though, so if I do find myself returning to write about an Outskirts/Outreaches setting in the future, I will attempt to explore them a little more thoroughly, even if I don't think I'll be able to do too much due to the lack of information surrounding them. So the short answer is that it'll depend on the setting of the next story I write that takes place in the Outskirts/Outreaches, really.

For your second question, that's a question I've thought about for a long, long time! It would be such a delightfully angsty dynamic that I've thought about it for a while for any potential AiP sequel of sorts (if something of that nature ever comes to fruition), as the characterisation of Carmen within it would be pivotal to the whole story; Carmen, if she manages to overcome her own Distortion, would still have to battle endlessly with her mind's worries and anxieties. After all, we know for a fact that her heart's fragility is what even led her down the dark path of self-harm and what kickstarted the foundation of the Lobotomy Corporation and, by extension, the creation of the Library. And while I don't doubt that she'd have recognised the overarching and painful effects of her hasty decision, whoever said that her sheer guilt would ever leave her? After all, if she felt enough guilt for Enoch's death that she was willing to to end it all, imagine how she'd feel knowing that she either directly or indirectly responsible for countless deaths thanks to the Distortions, the Ensemble, the people she whispered to as the Distortion, etc...

Now, of course, it's true that she likely had no real control over herself at that point in time, but I believe she would still blame herself for the pain she caused back then, and as such, it's very plausible she would enter a depression spiral as she finds herself surrounded by people who care for her and want the best for her now.

People who, in her eyes at least, she failed.

Surrounded by the Librarians again, Ayin, Angela and Tiphy, I think Carmen would go through an experience similar to the one narrated in Kali's page in LoR; she'd have rapid mood switches between laughing, crying, and just standing motionless. While I said that she would recognise that self-harm is never the answer, perhaps, in her bleakest and darkest moments, she feels that it would be best for everyone involved if she were the one to truly fade away forever this time around. I also think that she would almost resemble Hod, in a way, attempting to atone for her sins towards those she knew she hurt most, such as Tiphereth and Angela, and I think it would create an even more complicated dynamic with Tiphy, as both sides would feel as if they hurt the other, and with Carmen's rapid mood shifts, it'd not difficult to imagine a scenario where Carmen is attempting to initiate small talk with Tiphy, having the chat veer into the past's events, and then having Carmen wrap her arms around Tiphy while she fights back tears and apologises endlessly, leaving a confused and scared Tiphy who just returns to hug until Ayin or Angela come over.

Ah, delicious, nutritious angst~

I think Ayin and Angela would act as her caretakers, in a way. They'd be the ones to understand the shifts in attitude she underwent while understanding the trauma she has to face; they'd faced similar ones, after all. They'd try to get her used to normal life again while making sure she'd not faking he recovery just to make them happy as part of the atonement she so desperately craves.

Of course, that's not mentioning the dynamic with Ayin and her finally resolving the endless romantic tension between the two of them, Tiphy and Angela attempting to form a sort of familial cohesive unit with her...there's plenty of entertaining and fun dynamic, but as I always say: All good things come after mountains and mountains of angst~

Does your X have cognitive filter on his eyes? Does he still have it after lobotomy corp?

Does he look at the world in those lens?

…Does Distorted X also have a cognitive filter too? That specializes on keeping his dreams afloat and ignoring or destroying the thing capable of breaking of his dreams?

You know, this is actually an interesting question because I think it varies based on when exactly you ask it. During the events of LC, I'd assume that X does have the cognition filter turned on, seeing how he really has no choice to turn it off.

If I had to guess how he'd feel about it, I suppose saying it makes the world, to him, sanitised is the best way I could put it. It feels quite 'safe', with no shocking elements considering they are all seen through the cutesy lens of the filter, and while he doesn't necessarily hate it, he knows that the real world is unlike what he sees, and thus he has a lingering fear in the back of his mind to just how bad things can really be if some Abnormalities and scenes in LC (Tiphereth's replacement, for example) can make him shiver.

However, without the Corporation intact to actually maintain the system, I believe he loses the filter once LoR starts. Although like without the cognition filter is quite shocking, his presence (in A Tale of A Library) in a secluded and relatively secure area means that he can get used to the unease and novelty of seeing things for how they truly are. I don't think he'd lose his mind or anything, since the Sephirahs and Angela, for example, aren't too different appearance-wise, and although the Abnormalities are a lot more disturbing, I believe his mind can eventually cope with their existence and, alas, get used to the excessive levels of violence he sees on a daily basis in the City...if with greater difficulty than someone who never used the filter, and mostly thanks to the 'safe' environment he's in at the start of LoR...well, in my own take on X, in any case.

However, when it comes to Distorted!X... Yeah, he'd definitely have a filter active in order to not doubt the path he chose. It wouldn't be anything too major, or otherwise he might also doubt it, but it will likely portray worried or otherwise averse expressions on the kids' faces as happier ones to avoid him worrying or feeling as if they don't like his Distorted form, and the filter might even expand to cover auditory filters where he'd be unable to hear pleas for him to go back or that his daughters didn't want him to Distort. Basically, any passive element that could make him reconsider his decisions, although an active confrontation by Roland and Ayin would definitely get through it to prevent them from doing something like re-aging the Librarians, for example.
