scenes where he lets his abusers comfort him are so heartbreaking, for me they were the worst part (also the best) of the entire show. Also, that scene where his dad says he was brought up in catholic church, just the sheer amount of pain in that statement, god.

I totally recommend this show and I don't recommend it at all at the same time.

Just thinking about the way Tom religiously puts Dickie's stuff in hotels like he's building some sort of altar to the person he wants to be and the way Marge's apartment is filled with Dickie's paintings and Dickie's photos. Like, his absence is basically an omnipresence and not only because of the investigation and identity theft.

I absolutely love people, who try to make their own language. Like, this is my silly little idea, these are my silly little sounds. Let me play god.

Let me describe everything with numbers, let me make sense out of the world, let me show you hope, let me correct what's wrong with natural languages. Totally hilarious, utterly mad, i'm absolutely in love.

sometimes the idea of not knowing literally keeps me up at night. But not oh-poor-me-I-dont-know-the-secrets-of-the-universe (ok, that too), but like, there are so many books that are handmade just for me, and I might never read them, there are so many songs that I will never listen to, there are so many poems that could resonate with me, but might be written in a language I don't understand. Like, there were so many great writers in my country and I just know that there are as many in others, but their work is not translated or maybe it is, I just never happened to stumble upon it - and it is so frustrating, that I'll never know. There is someone out there, whose work would be life-changing for me, and I'll never know.

Sometimes I see a poem/song/whatever in my language, that's not translated, and I'm like, if I was born somewhere else, I wouldn't know it, but then i remember, I am born somewhere else, we are all born somewhere else and I just wanna scream into the void, but the void is also not here.
