my favorite pet theory is how barty crouch jr also technically gathers all of these ingredients over the course of GOF

bone of the father -> barty famously & iconically murders his father by turning him into a bone, while under disguise (“I transfigured my father… He became a bone.”)

flesh of the servant -> in order to free barty from azkaban, his mother swapped bodies with him using polyjuice and died in his place, quite literally sacrificing her flesh

blood of the enemy -> there are a number of people to whom this could apply but most obviously it’s alastor moody during his imprisonment in the trunk.

very impactful considering how barty’s entire character is built around the forcible and nonconsensual alienation from his body and selfhood. he’s a deconstruction of bodily autonomy bc we’ve only ever seen his body repurposed for someone else’s will: he’s an abused child (literally lacking his own name), then incarcerated, then polyjuiced to be his mother, then kept under imperius & invisibility cloak for twelve years, then polyjuiced to be moody. his body is maimed and disfigured in a metaphorical sense.

i like the idea that, narratively speaking, the husk of barty we are left with following the dementors kiss is in fact the “true and whole bodily form” he had been unknowingly building up to. he has always been treated as an empty shell - now he is that in actuality

Sirius’s first instinct after a fight with Remus is to pack a bag and leave. Not because he wants to, but because deep down he still believes love doesn’t survive anger. He grew up learning that love is conditional, that anger means abandonment. So he panics.

But Remus always catches him at the door. Every single time.

“I can be angry with you and still love you. I can need space and still choose you. Love doesn’t vanish just because things get hard.”

And that messes Sirius up more than anything.

2. about how gansey and noah reflect each other, with gansey’s escape from death setting them apart, and the way this sentiment is similar to noah’s thoughts about gansey in his pov chapter right before he slips out of time

3. about the significance of that “afraid of him, or for him” and how the demon took over noah first and adam later, so noah knew what it could do, and how adam could have failed to overcome the demon and wrest back control of his hands and eyes (afraid of him) but instead it was a horrifying struggle adam only just came out on the top of (afraid for him)

I personally wanna see less 'you are not a burden/it's not work to love you' and more 'you are worth the work it takes to love you.' I KNOW I'm a burden sometimes. that isn't such a terrible thing! humans are strong. we can carry burdens. and it is work for me to be there for my friends, but it's work I'm willing to do.

we need to acknowledge this because pretending love isn't work will never make people like me feel less guilty for accepting love. we need to talk about it so people don't feel bad for having boundaries and not always being up to do the work. we need to accept it so we can properly appreciate what others do for us and what we're doing for them.

yes it does take work to love you. but guess what? you still deserve love, and you deserve people who are willing to do the work to love you. it doesn't make you bad. all love take work. and everyone is worth it.

Lyall is also included occasionally, and Regulus only found out when he knocked on the door for unrelated business and was met with his scary father-in-law wearing a feathery robe the color of his wife's eyes

Hope likes to get up when the movie they're watching includes a song and take someone dancing, Regulus almost cried the first time it was his turn and Remus, along with Lyall, had the most adoring, starstruck expression
