Staying with the fish theme, I’ve carved another fish from lino and have printed them together. I’ve then taken a copy of the print into Adobe Illustrator and considered what a large print may look like if I created a repeat pattern. Inspired by the shimmering sholes of fish, the large print, if printed to scale of 1m square, would feature 84 prints swarming together in a great sphere.

Trying something different, I decided to create a lino print carved freehand in lino of a fish. Another first for me, I’ve tried printing on fabric. The fabric added an extra texture, where the weave enhanced the scales in the fish.

Inspired by the blue and white China and porcelain at the V&A, London, I created a print featuring a blue and white plate, and upon the plate is a bee and some flowers.
