Jackson wrote a song about a bad day and this is him singing it with my daughter Darcy randomly playing an EDM track I am working on in the background and coming over and singing a song of her own as well. The story behind the song at the end is a little heartbreaking.

Jackson created a new story today about plants vs ice monsters. It has a happy ending where the plants throw the head ice monster into a lava pit and he melts into water which seeps into the roots of the plants that defeated him and they become The Giving Tree. Here’s his drawing of the story. I recorded a whole 5 minutes of him talking about it which I will upload later.

He wants to make it a chapter book and also a movie.

Collaborative drawing of Mushroom King characters that Jackson and I spent about 45 minutes on tonight. I was drawing in red and he was drawing in black. The large central character is the mushroom King himself. I should have recorded what Jackson was saying while he was drawing. It was quite the narrative.

This is a recording that Jackson and I made shortly before our move to Dallas. It’s been sitting on my Zoom H4N waiting for me to harvest it. I just managed to do that this weekend, and had a few minutes between meetings where I could actually upload this long overdue story idea: The Mushroom King.
