Taking a break from my lil guys to do a date everything design for my sona-

She's based on my stick bag! (Wanted to do something I had in my room and there's a whole corner dedicated to my percussion stuff for school).

Gonna clean up some design choices and then do a piece in the game style!

do fairies in your story have wings? is there any other unique qualities to your new york fairies?

They can!

The basic concept of the world is that fairies (we've been calling them nature spirits) are more powerful the more nature thrives. So you'd be able to find normal fairies (wings and flower dresses and plant-growing magic, the whole package) in places that are fairly untouched (national parks, lush forests, etc). The spirits in New York have less distinct magic and look less otherworldly because the place they live is less natural.

My best example is Park ( @p0proxart 's guy) and Pip (owned by @theodd8ball ).

Pip is from Central Park and so she's a little more magic-looking (she kind of floats when she walks and has dandelion fluff in her hair), while Park lives in an abandoned theatre where he collects human relics (so he looks a lot more human, even though he's technically not).

Otherwise I like leaving the designs open! It's fun to have freedom in design so for the most part there's nothing super strict. Think of it like a scale from borrower to fairy based on location :)

I stopped posting my art for a really long time because of the way social media changed and I'm SO EXCITED to be getting back into it here- the community here is so wonderful and supportive and fun (it helped to realize that g/t was a community too and not just a weird trope preference lol)

Anyways I'm super fixated on my friends and my little guys so definitely expect more of them 🤭🤭

Dragging my friends into my little guy obsession

Ref sheet for a ferngully/epic/tinkerbell/idk man they're basically just fairies in new york - esque story. Thus guy is notably not a little guy and will be going through a crisis.

Mother Nature creates fairies to help fight back against the damage humanity has caused the earth, but they're only as powerful as the nature around them. Fairy tale pixies fly around lush forests promoting growth and well-being, but the fairies in New York City are much closer to humanity. They have to learn to adapt just like the ecosystem of the city has, all while staying safe and secret in their lives alongside ours.

People seemed interested in this story concept (yay), and especially seemed to love my ref sheet for Ross (just a normal guy about to have his world rocked). I don't have much art to share beyond what's posted quite yet, and most of the story is collaborative, but I'd be happy to answer any questions (with art too 🤭) about the concept, characters, or other things.

It's coming to my attention that people are much more interested in my friends' and my little 'fairies in New York' story than I expected.

Would anyone be interested in a q/a with some drawings? It's hard for me to share comic work as a strictly trad artist but I think that could be fun.

- Britney for making fun of her when she had her breakdown

- Monica Lewinski for judging her when she was a 22year old temp sexually assaulted by the most powerful man in the world

- Ke$ha for ever thinking she was trashy when all she wanted to do was make party music

- Kristen Stewart for ever thinking she was dumb when she’s actually one of the coolest people ever

- Megan Fox for ever thinking she was just a slut when actually she was an actress being harassed by her employer. 

- Hating all the women who made a career out of having a hot body. Being is shape is hard, beauty is a weapon and auto promotion is hard work. 

- All the Mary-Sues, who exist because young girls everywhere want to be part of a story they love so much

- All the female characters I ever snobbed because they got in the way of my ship.

- Hating the color pink during my teenage years, when it’s actually a lovely color and what I resented was society’s pressure to perform femininity.
