Update of an old assignment from the storyboard mentorship program. I changed it up to make it more personal, instead of using the characters and vehicles in the Star Wars script meant for the assignment. The characters are inspired by Anna Akana, Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Mad Max (Tom Hardy) ⭐️

Been indulging in my obsession with Arcane. It was supposed to be just an animatic study, but it became an animation halfway through 😅 this is specifically Vi parkouring down to Zaun. it went from 6s and 8s, to 1s and 2s.

Very rough animatic for my storyboard mentorship. The assignment was to board from a script from the Clone Wars series, and it was critiqued by the very guy who worked on the series. It was a huge honor 🙌 Definitely will be incorporating both my mentors' feedback in my next pass 💪

Drew some sumo wrestlers with friends as our gesture drawing subjects. These were mainly 1 minute each. The last page were 5 minutes. At the end of it, my stage on Storyboard Pro was just filled with a whole bunch of baby wrestlers.

Back to basics again with friends from university. Most of these are 1 minute poses, and probably four 2 minute poses. 2 of them are 5 minute poses. That cello made it a little harder to finish in 1 to 2 minutes, but it made this exercise more fun.

Finally done with my Dungeons and Dragons character, Tabby. Short for Tabitha Mbatha. She's a fast Tabaxi rogue, good at stealing stuff, stealthy and agile. Deals a lot of damage too, as long as the target doesn't notice her. She can swim pretty fast and is also a good climber because of her claws. She grew up in a nomadic Tabaxi tribe that lives in the mountains, and is good at hunting and fishing 🐱 I went through different stages with this, in order to figure out what I really want.

More 1 minute gesture drawings last night with some juniors frm university. It was a fun session recalling our experiences from school, and talking about where we're at now in our careers.

WIP of my Tabaxi rogue from Dungeons and Dragons. Hard to use in combat, because I rolled really badly for her stats. Did some studies on Brick Mansion today. This is just the start of the action scene. I'll work on finishing this scene whenever I find the time to. It's a parkour movie I saw, and just wanted to use it as a study for my own story idea. Been trying to design the main character to a story idea I had frm 3 years ago. This is Yan, in Chinese, which means “sparrow”. She’s free-spirited and a daredevil. These ones are getting somewhere but still not exactly how I want her to be. The purpose of this idea is to be able to storyboard a lot of action involving parkour. I was introduced to DnD (Dungeons and Dragons. Not dinner and dance 😓) by my colleagues. So here’s a sketch of my rogue elf, Kaeda 🗡 She's had a rough life, after her mother was kidnapped and made to serve in a brothel. Kaeda was therefore born in a brothel when her mother was impregnated by a client, witnessed her mother's murder by her master, killed the master, escaped the only place she knew growing up, and started dedicating her life to freeing all girls and women to be masters of their own lives ✊ Started on it last month, but it was put aside for animal crossing and work. Hard to tear myself away from that, now that we have to work from home, and work is just sitting right there in front of me 😳

Something I've worked on for a month, after coming home from work everyday. This is just one-third of a book, for an ex-colleague's birthday. It was a fun project, I got to replay these adventures in my mind for these stories. There were just too many moments and I didn't have time to do them all before her birthday.
