My characters Norlle (playing guitar) and Mora. These two kids have my heart.
(same world as Alexandria)
also working on animating this illustration into a loop and it is taking all my brainpower!!! I have made so many mistakes and I don't even know if I fixed all of them. I may have been a little too ambitious.

Switching between checking my email on my computer and animating on my iPad every five minutes because animating is the only thing I want to do at the moment but I simultaneously don't want to do anything that's actually somewhat difficult

Unpleasant realization: my very enviable nose is about a centimeter too small for my face, and that's why I can never draw it correctly.

Ah! Just read Aces Wild by Amanda DeWitt. Really fun! I haven't enjoyed a book as thoroughly as this one in a while. I may enjoy reading about villainy a little too much, but the end sets up Jack for a much healthier life, the kind I like to have for myself.
A good, fun, enjoyable read. It felt so good to relate to a character about crushes/romance/etc. for once?? Even if not completely my thoughts and feelings, it felt like the characters were written from my perspective and I totally didn't realize I needed to see that. I just needed a story where ace-ness isn't the plot and doesn't exclude romance, but where ace-ness isn't minimized either. Jokes didn't go over my head for once, and it was great.

Just thinking about that fog-of-fear cathedral scene when Bea fights her way through the possessed crowd to reach Ava and then when Ava asks her if she's alright, she says "my leg's seized up, I may need your help to walk"

Warrior Nun Appreciation Post
I nearly didn't watch Warrior Nun because in the first few episodes it seemed very much like a cut-and-dried religion vs. science story. But then it became so much more complex at the end of the first season, and the changing appearances (that continued throughout the second season as well) are a key aspect in what make the story so so good!
So I'm just here to appreciate Warrior Nun's increasingly interesting story.

Beatrice Appreciation Post
One thing that's very cool about Beatrice is how much faith she has in her God at the start of the show. S1 E4 she says "You make known to me the path of life" as she is about to enter a fight alone against many. The line is from Psalm 16:11. (She also makes a nice crack about "Why would I doubt [that you would shoot]? ... Faith is my business.") At any rate, I love how much faith she has. It's incredible, and it's genuine.
Okay so then it's very clear as the show gets on that her faith is badly shaken after Adriel shows up. S2 E7 Mother Superion suggests they pray for those they've lost and Beatrice is like that's going to do nothing: "Adriel is literally sucking our prayers out of the air." And then she says, "I mean, who are we even praying to?" which is the line that tells me just how bad her crisis of faith is at this point.
So in my head Beatrice's third season is about dealing with and healing from her imploded world of faith. Maybe she would find faith again, maybe grieve its loss, but she's going to have to deal with it because having such strong faith so badly shaken must feel like someone severed you in two.
In conclusion I appreciate Beatrice's faith and crisis of faith, and I would love to see how her faith arc continues after the show, and I appreciate how her faithfulness is respected and is genuine and is shown positively in a show that is probably not aimed at very religious audience.
