Vekari is a world I've crafted and worked on for the past couple years that started as a homebrew D&D campaign. It has since grown into a whole thing of its own, and it's about time I posted it here!

First, there is Vekari: Remote Bypass, which is a text-based web ARG. It's a website acting as a portal into Faktoria, Haloran, hundreds, even thousands of years into the future. You can roam the city, solve puzzles, interact with characters, complete quests, play minigames, and more! you can play it for free here:

As of today and going forward, there is the Vekari TTRPG! This is a lightweight, customizable, and super creative-focused TTRPG system paired with the world of Vekari and all its quirks. Build a class from the ground up from randomly offered abilities, build strong cyber weapons, explore two planes of existence, and, in the full version, enjoy two premade adventures you can run with your group! The core rules and the world itself are licensed under Creative Commons so you can make whatever you'd like with them. The TTRPG will have both a zine version and a PDF version releasing this month, so look out for them! The zines should be up on itch by the 10th. There are 8 sheets to use containing full condensed core rules, and a one-shot! The PDF should be up by July and will include more in depth rules, the one-shot, and a longer campaign to run :)

I've been making video games, and you should go play them! They're free!

This is Poltersprite! It's an arcade-style ghost investigation game for the original Game Boy (DMG!) 👻

Featuring 7 ghost types, 5 evidence types, 2 completely original and hand-drawn maps with 5 and 8 rooms respectively, a final score system, and looking at cat photos as a sanity mechanic 🐈‍⬛

It was made in roughly 12 days for GitHub Game Off 2024, and was just recently (May 5th) expanded on with a huge update including a new haunted carnival map, new ghost types and equipment, a complete rework of the inventory and journal, and some added accessibility features!

The game is entirely free to play and download, including a Game Boy ROM, a 3DS .cia, and a printable 1-page foldable instruction manual! The game's source code and project files are also available on GitHub for modding or tinkering, feel free to make use of it!

I am hoping to make physical cartridges by this summer, you can help make it happen by supporting the game! Leave a comment, review, and if you can, a tip to help me fund the first batch!

The term you are looking for is "Bitch"

The part of me that twitches when people don't address elders of a higher generation or strangers as Sir/Ma'am despairs that English doesn't have a polite term of address for elders of the same generation. Big Brother/Big Sister as a term of address sounds STUPID in English, but there just isn't a term like a number of other languages have that conveys respect but also a sense of familiarity.

Can we invent one? Please? I want a term to call older friends without the distance that comes with Sir/Ma'am _(:3 」∠)_

Keeping reptiles is very different from keeping cats or dogs. They don't wag their tails, they don't bark or purr, and the less you handle them the better off they are.

However that's not to say you can't form a bond with your reptile pet. For an animal that is scared of movement and large creatures, getting a little turtle to trust you enough to eat directly from your hand might seem like nothing short of a miracle.

Mikey, my red-eared slider, has been with me for just short of 2 weeks. He has gone from retreating to his shell and hiding in corners anytime I moved to waking me up with splashes, letting me take him for walks in the backyard, and, as pictured, eating directly from my hand.

I love this little dude and the bond we've formed, and I thought what better way to share that with everyone than to paint it?

I provide this guy food. Rocks. A plant pot to hide in. A nice toasty basking area. He has his own fan to keep his temperatures in check. His platform is next to the tv so he can even watch if he feels lazy.

And all he wants to do

Is scavenge everything that is not sand out of his sand.

"Sand substrate is hard to clean" Not for me, he cleans it for me. Much to my dismay.
