Tumblr media
The creator doesn’t get to rest.
Work. Help. Lead. Repeat.
There’s not much more to it.
Works wordlessly on papers, and reports from each nation, and it continuous prosperity. Works about resolving issues with the growing activity amongst the monsters of the land.
Help the creations, they can’t seem to do anything on their on when your around. They want you to make the crops grow, and stop the rain from falling, but don’t they need rain for the crops to grow?
Lead meetings about meaningless acts, and harmless threats. No one is in danger, they just have a small cut, nothing a few bandages and medicine can’t fix. You tell them that too, yet they insist that only you can stop the problem at its root.
Then you repeat it all again the next day. For days on end, you can’t seem to get a break. You tell yourself that you love these creations that you made, you try to convince yourself that you do. Yet every time you get close, they come back with another issue.
No peace, no breaks.
Meaningless work with a title on a throne, thats all it is.
At some point they'll learn, at some point they’ll understand.
They have to. Otherwise, how will these creations survive?
Now as you sit on your throne, several documents done, several people helped, and several meetings led, done and over with, all you can do is wait.
There’s no point in asking for rest at this point. Every time you get just a bit of relaxation, someone comes in complaining about something.
“The crops aren’t growing fast enough”
“Monster activity is on the rise”
“Its raining too much”
“Our crops need more water”
“The soil is now too moist, could you make it rain less”
it drives you crazy. They ask for the answer to one problem, then can’t figure out the answer to the next. You give them hints, suggestions, anything to at least keep their needs at bay. Yet somehow they always come back for more.
Things started to get worse the more they asked for things…
“Your Grace, please, we need your help. Liyue is having a shortage of Mora!” As you think about it, that doesn’t even make since. How does the Nation, that is home to Morax, the Archon who made Mora, having a shortage of Mora? Of all things. It could’ve been anything else, but Mora? How is that even possible?
“Your Grace, the air in Monstadt is becoming polluted! Can you please fix this?” The air, in Monstadt, the Nation of wind, and freedom, is polluted? What does that even mean, how is that possible? The air there is supposed to be the freshest, and most kind of all! How did the air start to pollute anyway?
“Your Grace, the water levels in Fontaine are lowering by the day, and less and less fish and carbs are appearing in the water!” The Nation, is quite literally surrounded by water! What did they do for the creatures that are native to that region to suddenly disappear! It just doesn’t make sense!
It seems like the more they ask, the more needy they become. You wish that you can just send them away, make them figure it out on their own.
But you can’t.
You’d be abandoning your duty as the creator, and your responsibilities of helping and protecting Teyvat. It’s the Creators job, to work endlessly for power hungry, greedy, creations.
What breaks do you get, when you’re the Creator. Even the most powerful dont get breaks. The claim to love you, yet want so much, and give nothing in return.
Theres a reason the creator gets no breaks…

Character ;; Scaramouche/Wanderer Warnings ;; Mentions of death Word count ;; 1.5k An|requested by:@rovakiap I really hope you like it<3 Part 1
Tumblr media
Becoming a Harbinger, wasn’t easy on you. Not just because it was physically painful, and exhausting, but because you felt like you were taking the place of someone you loved.
The trials, and battles were nothing compared to the change in the way you slept at night. The fact that you now slept alone, and cold. Or the way everyone just brushed over the fact that the man you loved had just died. No one really cared. And they expected you not to care either.
His subordinates were happy that he was finally away, and they could now “breathe freely”.
The other Harbingers acted as if he hadn’t lived at all.
And the Tsaritsa? She had not a word to say.
Everyone’s indifference towards this mans death, honestly didn’t surprise you. He wasn’t kind, actually he was quite the opposite. He was authoritative, and cared little about other people’s personal lives or their opinions.
However, what people fail to realize, and what you’ve come to learn, is that Scaramouche, does care. Though, he would never admit it, even after death, he held some level of concern about them. He always gave his subordinates missions that he knew they could handle. He fought for them on several occasions, in truth.
You remembered time when he’d come to bed tired after specifically planning everyone’s job for the next few months. He had “associates” amongst the Harbingers, though you knew they were really his friends. After Signoria died, it hurt him. Like everything else though, he’d never admit that. To anyone.
Scaramouche, was the most stubborn person you’d ever met, even to this day. Even after his death. But that was one of the many things that you loved about him. After you had heard that he passed, you were devastated. Left heartbroken, alone…confused.
You were able to power through, however. You were able to gain power, because of your lover’s death. Which was how you got to where you stand now, as the new 6th fatui Harbinger. Looking back, you’d never imagined being here. You always thought Scaramouche would continue to rule until your untimely death.
You couldn’t ever think about him dying. You never thought it was possible. Staring at your reflection, you see just how much you’ve changed. You now stand with authority, walk with power and confidence. As you looked at every detail on your body, now you have so many scars. It was expected after all the fights you had to endure to get to the top.
You, surprisingly, don’t remember getting half of the scars that litter your body now. For the most part, your outfit covered them, but you knew they were there. You didn’t feel anything when you looked at them, but they brought back so many memories. Ones you’d rather not relive.
You closed your eyes, no longer wanting to look at the person you've become, and walked towards the door. As you walked the cold halls of the Snezhnayan castle, all you could hear was you footsteps.
Whenever someone saw you approaching, they immediately cleared the way for you to pass by smoothly. They straightened their backs, and looked ahead, never looking anywhere else until you were out of sight. Walking out of the castle, and to the docks, two of your subordinates followed close behind.
“What are the items that the Tsaritsa need from Sumeru?” You asked not looking back, continuing to move forward. The woman, a cicin mage, on your right responded quickly, and you could hear the fear in her voice.
“Her majesty has requested 36 Nilotpala Lotus, 90 Rukkhashava Mushrooms, and 64 mourning flowers, my lord.” You didn’t say anything, only nodding away. You then boarded your ship, and set off towards Sumeru.
~~
Upon arriving, you dismissed your fatui subordinates, and set each of them to find something different, while you wondered around. As you walked, no one really spared you glance, much to your advantage. You’d rather get in, and get out as soon as you could. Being in this forested place, full of green and knowledge brought back wonderful memories of the dead. Someone you don’t need to be thinking about right now.
Sure, it had been months since he died, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt you all the same. Thinking about it was you walked, a sudden realization came to you, everyone acted like he didn’t even exist. It confused and frustrated you, but you never would admit that. You’ve become a lot like him over your time as the new Harbinger.
Now, people dislike you, as much as they disliked him.
Not that you cared, you had no reason to. Who cares if you adopted his mean glare, and cocky smirk. That you now would stomp over anyone who didn’t do what you asked. Not you, you didn’t cared how much it hurt. How much you had changed..
You sighed heavily, shaking your head. You have a mission to do, and thinking about someone who’s long gone, can’t do you any good.
A soft breeze lazily gazed over you, it was soft and relaxing. Then you saw something, that looked awfully familiar. So much so, that it made you stop in your tracks. That was when you saw him.
He stood out in a group of people, and looked so familiar. yet so different. His expression was soft, and he didn’t look made by any means, no, infant he looked quite content. Something you’d never seen on your lovers face before, not openly at least. He was holding a create full of vegetables, and was looking down at a young, and small girl in green and white.
Her big, green eyes caught sight of yours, and for a second too long, you made eye-contact. Then you realized who that little girl was, she’s the Dendro archon. How you came to that conclusion, you don’t know.
However you knew that you were right.
Like it was fact, quickly, you turned away before anything could transpire. You were here on a mission.
Just gather information on Sumerus whereabouts, then you can leave.
You thought to yourself, trying to remember what it was that your subordinate told you;
36 Nilotpala Lotus….How is the new archon ruling,
90 Rukkhashava Mushrooms….What about Sumeru has changed,
and 64 mourning flowers….and is the traveler still in Sumeru
This should be easy, just get a bit of information, then leave, it’s not hard. Pretending to not have seen the small girl, and familiar male, you walked a different way. Until you heard his voice, and a warm hand was placed on your shoulder.
“Umm, excuse me?” His voice was clear, just as you remember it. So many thoughts ran around in your head, and your knees buckled. Shaking it off you said nothing, only facing forward trying to regain your composure. “Are you lost?”
Slowly you turned around, you didn’t know what to expect. You were hoping that it would be some random person, someone who only sounded like him. Your hopes quickly died however, and you were face to face with a dead man walking.
You tried your best to keep your composure, crossing your arms, because suddenly you felt cold. As he looked at you expectingly, you found an answer as quickly as you could think.
“Yes, actually, could you show me around? It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and I’m honestly just traveling through. So I’ll be staying here for the next few days.” You caught his eye twitch, but said nothing of it. He then looked behind him, then rolled his eyes and looked back to you.
He mumbled under his breath, then responded;
“Sure, i can show you around.”
And just like that, you met a dead man. But now he goes by ‘Wanderer’ and says that he knows nothing of his past. He doesn’t know where he’s from, all he does know, is that he’s trying to figure it out. Or so he told you, you felt as if there was something more behind those words, but you didn’t want to lose him again, so you kept quiet.
You hated this.
Yes, you missed him. But he doesn’t remember you. You know so much about him, and yet he knows nothing of you. Not to mention that you’re not even the same person that you used to be. While he was gone, you became the next him. It was strange.
Now, anytime you look at him, you feel like you’re living a lie. This just doesn’t feel real to you, yet you love it all the same. Sure, you’ve cried so many tears, and really can’t explain your emotions, but you know for a fact that you’ve missed him.
And it was then, at that very moment, when he started walking away for a few steps then when he realized that you weren’t following, he turned around and said to you;
“Aren’t you coming?”
That you decided. You would restart. This time, the roles are reversed, but thats ok. This time, you’ll protect him, rather he realizes it, or not.
You’ll keep him away from your Fatui business, and keep him by your side. It won’t be easy, actually, it’ll be really compacted, but you’ll be ready to deal with that. Right now, as you nod your head, and follow him around Sumeru, not looking at the things he points at, but instead at him, you feel momentary ecstasy.
And right now, thats all you need.

Characters ;; Xiao Warnings ;; Angst, slight comfort, then more angst, abandonment(technically??) Words count ;; 1.8k An| Inspired by "One last time" from Hamiliton
Tumblr media
As you stood looking at your rightfully beautiful lands, the sun set off in the distance. A peaceful smile made a home on your face. The soft breeze touched your face, and the sun kept you warm. Everything around you was perfect, and rightfully so at that. As you stood watching the sun set, in your silk garments, and flowing clothing, you looked majestic.
When you heard a knock on the door leading into the room in which you resided in, you didn’t need to ask to know who it was.
“Come in.” Your words flowed off your lips and was carried by the wind. As softly as you spoke, your words stood tall and elegantly firm. With a soft click the door opened, revealing a young looking male with teal and green hair, and a purple diamond on his forehead; a gift from you.
“Yes, your grace? I was informed that you wanted to speak with me?” you could hear the shake in his voice, mixed with confusion. You had yet to look at him, but you were sure that if you did, you’d see him standing stiff and still, almost like a statue.
Softly, you huffed out a breath of air, and spotted an anemo crystalfly fluttering around. You raised your hand, putting out a finger for it to land on. When it did, you finally glanced back at him. Looking over your shoulder, you noticed how far away he was from you, as if terrified to get any closer.
Your warm smile had yet to leave your face, and you waved him to walk closer to you.
“Please, have a drink, relax.” You motioned over to the cart not far from you with various kinds of drinks, as per your request. You also took note how he refused to look at your face. He seemed to look everywhere else however. You returned your gaze back to the orange sky, and pink clouds. “I need a favor.” A soft tune sounded in your voice, which made you sound angelic.
“Yes, whatever you say, your grace.” His voice sounded determined, and confident. With your free hand, you grabbed with hand, and lifted, bringing the crystalfly closer to him. His breath hitched when you touched him, and you gently placed the small animal his hand. The crystalfly, glowed when it touched him, then flew around him before flying away.
“I need you to draft an address.” Confusion showed on his features, and you understood why. Before he could ask any questions, you continued; “So the people will hear from me one last time.”
You looked away from him, enjoying the long sunset in the horizon. Alarmed he stepped closer to you, confusion, and concern clear in his voice.
“Your Grace, what do you mean?” Without looking at him, you grabbed his hand, and walked closer to the edge of your open balcony. Carefully, you climbed onto the railing, standing tall on it. “Your Grace!” Xiao yelled, frightened as he still stood on the ground. You looked back at him, smiling brightly.
“Join me, Xiao. Let’s take a walk together.” Just as you finished, a bridge made of vines and floral plants formed from the plants that grew on the side of the castle. Wordlessly, he took your hand, not knowing what to expect, but having full trust in you. As you spoke, he listened to you intently.
"One last time~ The people will hear from me, one last time~" there was a soft tune in your voice, almost as if you were singing. You drew out your words as you talked and sounded almost too relaxed for your own good.
With each step that you took, more and more flowers flourished. softly the wind blew past the two of you. While you stayed relaxed, and calm, Xiao was having something like a crisis. So many thoughts ran through his mind, he wondered what was going on more than everything.
Why did you want to leave? And why did you choose to tell him, of all people?
"Your Grace, why?" Seemed to be the only thing that he could get past his teeth. His thoughts ran too fast for him to have been able to understand. Under him, he could feel his legs stop. The male looked down, to ashamed to look anywhere else. His world felt like it was crashing down all around him.
When you felt him stop walking, you stopped as well. Upon seeing the state that you'd put the teal haired male, you didn't know how to feel, but you knew what to do. Without letting go of his hand, you took your free hand and placed it on his cheek, lifting his head to look at you.
"Relax, take a walk with me, one last time." Your smile had yet to leave your face, or faulter, and as you looked at him you refused to let it do so. Gently, with your thumb, you whipped the tears that began to flood his eyes. Then after a second, you began your walk once again, never letting go of his hand.
So many confusing thoughts ran through his head, yet the comfort that you brought him eased his mind. Somehow, you always possessed that ability to radiate that comforting, and powerful aura. It was so welcoming and comforting that it was impossible to resist. Maybe that was a perk of being the creator.
"I wanna talk about what I have made. The hard won wisdom I have gained." Though, in the distance ahead, the sun was setting, it somehow was still bright enough to see. With your hand, you gestured to the groups of crystsalflies that flew around.
The small crystalflies, softly glowed in the incoming dark, illuminating the area around beautifully. Water in the lakes below flowed steadily, washing against the rocks and grass.
"As far as the people are concerned, you have to lead! You could continue to lead." he sounded desperate, imploring you to not leave, to just stay a bit longer. Now, unlike before, he never took his eyes off you. As if scared that if he did, you'd disappear before he could realize that you gone. His heart thumped rapidly in his chest, and somehow, breathing felt foreign to him.
"No. One last time, the people will hear from me. One last time, and if I get this right. We're gonna teach' em how to say goodbye. You and I~" He couldn't even think about his next words, before they seemingly flew out of his mouth;
"Why do you have to say goodbye?" His voice cracked, and his normally deep and reserved voice was breaking down by the second.
"If I say goodbye, Tayvet will lean to move on. It'll outlive me when im gone." By that time, you reached the end of the vine path. It stopped just at the end of a cliff. Xiao then looked around, confused. Just how far had they walked in that time, it felt like a short amount of time, yet they walked so far.
The massive castle in which was made for the Creator, was no longer visible, neither was any signs of civilization.
It all happened so fast, too fast.
There was a sudden glow that came from the creator, it lit the surround trees and grass. It was bright enough to be mistaken as the sun. Xiao looked away, knowing that if he continued to look, he'd become blinded by the light. Then he heard a voice. The familiar voice of his beloved creator.
"Deliver my message to Tayvat for me Xiao, I trust that you will see my final wish through." In a sudden realization that he could no longer feel the Creator's hand within his own, he opened his eyes.
A bright orb of light floated where his Creator once was. Particles of golden dust floated in the air, as the orb lifted into the sky. Ascending into the stars. The dust littered the ground, and his body. He watched as the orb moved further away, and tears ran down his cheeks like the rain. The space around him was now completely dark.
Aside from the rainbow Cryatalfly the fluttered around him. Landing on his shoulder.
There he stood in the spot all night, a flow of never stopping tears rolled down his face, and the only sense of comfort he received was from the crystalfly, that reminded him of you.
~~~~~~~~
The next day, was easy from no one. Especially, Xiao. As he was one the whom had to bear witness to the the faces that he gave the information to. That was how he got to where he stands now. In his hands was a paper, new and crisp. He stood before a crowed of people, who were from different nations, and of different cultures.
There had to be atleast thousands of people from each nation there, all gathered in a large courtyard before the palace of the creator. Looking down at the paper, he reads off the words inscribed in the paper;
Character ;; Scaramouche Warnings ;; Angst, character death, blood Word count ;; 1.3k An | i had fun making this tbh, and i loved the way it turned out<3 Part 2
Tumblr media
As the wind blew past you, everything felt nice. The cold air bit at your skin, but it still felt nice. Your thick fur coat, given to you not long after you had started living on this forever cold land, kept you warm. You watched the evening horizon, no thoughts in your mind as the sun set behind the mountains off in the far distance.
Though it looked as if you could touch it if you just reached For it, you knew in you mind that it was far away. That however, didn’t stop you. Pulling your hand out of the safety of the warmth within its pocket, you reached for it. Only for your hand to reach nothing.
Your hand fell back to your side, and your head tilted slightly, as if confused. As if you didn’t know why your hand touched nothing instead of touching the horizon. You missed the warmth that the sun used to bring.
You missed your sun.
The light of your life, rather he admit it or not. He did questionable things, and he wasn’t nice by any means, but he loved you. He protected you, and was interested in the things that you believed, rather he agreed with them or not. He’d never let you be disrespected, let alone hurt by any means.
Scaramouche loved you.
The day you found out that he wouldn’t be returning, was the day you cried so much that your tears started to freeze as they rolled down your cheeks.
You cried for hours, all by yourself. You’d been told that he died. That the experiment that he had been apart of failed, and he was destroyed during a battle against the new dendro Archon, and a blond traveler.
You had been told that they killed him.
For a while you wanted to be upset, no you wanted to be outraged. You wanted to loath everything about those people, the people who hurt the man you loved. You wished to hurt them, to see them hurt at your feet, begging for mercy that you wouldn’t give.
Yet, as soon as it came, that feeling was gone.
You knew that the experiment was dangerous. You knew that he could’ve gotten hurt. He knew as well. But you didn’t know that puppets could die. If you would’ve had known, you would’ve tried to stop him. You would’ve made him stayed, or so you tell yourself. Now that he was gone, it seemed that everything reminded you of him. Somehow, where ever you looked, you saw him.
And it hurt.
It didn’t make sense to you. How did something like the snow remind you of Scaramouche? Maybe it was the way his skin was always so cold, or the way he’d melt for your warmth. You could hear his voice in your mind.
“Ugh, you need to move faster, the snow isn’t hard to move in. Mortals…why must you be so weak..”
He’d complain about everything, from the cold to the heat. He complained about light and darkness, the air and the uneven ground. The only thing he never complained about however was you.
He would never admit it, but he loved you. The puppet would do anything for you. From the small things, when you asked him to get you some water. To literally challenging the way of life and trying to become an archon, to be strong and protect you. He wanted the best for you. Anything you wanted, it’d be in your hands before you could even say think about it.
He learned and studied you to the point where he could understand what you were thinking just by being around you.
You blinked again, the sun was almost fully down by now. Softly you sighed, you cloud see the cloud of air that contrasted against the unforgiving cold air.
Though you dreaded this walk, you made your way back to the icy cold place of Snezhnaya. As your feet hit the snow with a loud crunch, you couldn’t help but think about him still. It seemed like he couldn’t leave you alone. Even when gone, he still found a way to be around. The last words that he said to you before he left for Sumeru were word that would haunt you to your final days;
“I’ll see you when i get back. Don’t do anything stupid while im away, and stay away from Sumeru. No matter what….Please. I love you.”
He didn’t even let you say it black before he quickly kissed you then left. Bitterly you chuckled at his words. It seems like he was the one to do something stupid, now look where it got him. You remember hearing the love behind the hiss in on his tongue.
The irony, you thought. The walk to your current place of residence was short, to say the least. And anything besides peaceful. As soon as you entered the castle, subordinates of your lover crowed you. Questions of various kinds were shot at you to the point of gaining a headache.
The lack of respect, and distance between you and them, for some reason angered you. The feeling of heat covered your body more instantly as more questions were asked. Irritated, you began actually moving people out of your way as you continued to walk, now having no care about who was going to get hurt.
All of the questions blended together, until your ear twitched at the sound of one particular question;
“Are you going to take lord Scaramouche’s place as the new 6th harbinger?”
You froze in your tracks, that question upset you. Were they really that ready to replace him? Everyone agreed, and started on with how ‘you’re so much nicer than lord Scaramouche’. Had they not realized how hard this was for you? Had they no respect? For his loss at the very least.
“You will not speak of him of the sort.” you turned around, looking down upon everyone, even those who were taller than you. “And just who do you think you are? You bow before you speak to me, I should have you all behead for such an act of disrespect!” Immediately everyone stoped their movements.
Fear struck a majority of the group, everyone else, a sense of confusion. Since when were you, of all people, as harsh as Scaramouche? It seemed almost out of your character. Never did you make them blow to you before, or even threaten them. Everyone fell to their knees, bowing before you, some even shook.
Everyone besides one, a newer recruit to the fatui. She stood with a high level of confidence, and ego. As if she had the right to face you.
Thoughts of the way that Scaramouche would discipline these very subordinates played in your mind. You remember at that time, thinking those punishments were too harsh. You’d believe that they deserved a second chance, at that time as least.
“Why are you still standing.” You didn’t ask a question, it was a warning, now, you were at the point that you were ready to hurt everyone around you. If Scaramouche was still be around, you wouldn’t be doing this. That fact hurt you much more than it should’ve, but it’s true.
Scaramouche was the one to apply harsh treatment upon the ones beneath him, while you would apologize, and try to get him to stop.
“You keep being nice to them, and one day they’ll try to take advantage of you. That’s why you are so weak now, you are too kind, and forgiving.”
Is this what he meant? You wonder. You wasted no time in killing the woman. Your eyes so dull, that even the lights didn’t reflect off of them. A collective gasp filed the room. You watched the body fall, and the blood spill. No mercy was left in you heart, nor did you care.
“Someone clean up this blood now! Let this be a warning, i show no more mercy.” You started to walk away, but stopped before they were out of earshot. “Never talk bad about Scaramouche around me ever again, i will kill you. On sight.”
With that you walked away, only the sound of your shoes hitting the ground filled the silence of the cold halls, and your now hallow heart.
Characters ;; Kazuha X gn!mer!reader Warnings ;; being caught in a net, PDA(kinda) Word count ;; 1.4k An |not this being in my wips for a long time and just now getting it done. And I’m probably gonna go back and edit this
Tumblr media
As a creature of the sea, you were naturally beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to see a creature of your kind? Across Teyvat, your kind was told in many ways, but every single time your kind was depicted as beautiful with an angelic voice.
Their voice carried feelings, and emotion. However had gone extinct long ago, mers, mermaids, and mermen had became only stories. Tales of fantasy and beauty all across teyvat. Though native to Fontaine, only some merfolk traveled outside of there homeland.
————-
The sound of the wind and waves crashing onto a ship mix into a beautiful song to Kazuha’s ears. A wonderful symphony of sounds mixing and colliding to create a sound that only he can understand. Made just for him. Though people laugh, and sing in the background, the only thing he can hear is the soothing sound of the wind.
His guide, and friend. The loose fabric of his clothes flows in the wind along with his white hair with his streak of red. Carefully his red, amber eyes watched the water, he noticed the waves crash against the boat, and shift at the movement of fish in the water. The way that the water reflected the sun’s rays looked majestic.
Kazuha felt himself be guided into a trance like state. No thoughts entered or exited his mind, he felt peace. For a while he watched the waves, unblinking, until he saw something splash out of the corner of his eye. Quickly, he turned his head to see what’s he had saw, but there was nothing.
Leaning forward, he tried to look closer, keeping a hold onto the boat so he wont fall. After about a minute or so of seeing nothing, he turned away from the water, leaving his own world and returning to the real one.
His crew mates still chatted, and yelled. Laughter filled the breeze. Kazuha softly smiled at the sight, it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.
His thoughts went back to water, did he see something? Had he been hallucinating? He doesn’t know. The sound of someone yelling caught his attention.
“Hey, Cap! Something big just got caught in the net!” The sound on the ship lowered, as everyone looked to one person. She stood tall, long brown hair flowed down her back, some of it put up into a bun, with her bangs covering her left eye. She dressed in reds, and browns, with gold italics. Thigh high boots, and an electro vision on her hip. She held a relaxed expression, but somehow still looked serious.
“Bring it on board! Let’s see what it is.” Her voice sprung people into action, and the crew scattered to pull a giant net onto the ship. The struggle to get the net onto the ship, wasn’t expected to say the least.
Once in the middle of the ship, Caption Beidou, and Kazuha along with everyone else on the ship surrounded the net. Something large moved around inside, yet was hard to see due to the light that reflected off of its scales, and the seaweed that was tangled in the net as well.
As Beidou stepped closer, most poeple were quick to assume that the newest catch would be their next meal. Kazuha watched the caption closely as she inspected it.
When she pulled out a small knife, thats when whatever was inside started to trash, and squirm violently. The sudden commotion caused everyone else on the ship to draw closer.
From a short distance, Kazuha watched the scene unfold. From his perspective, everyone else was overreacting, yet he had expected this. A gust of wind blew towards the group, causing the white haired male to continue to stare, this time much more intensely. Then he heard a sound, one that sounded almost like a cry, or gasp.
A hushed sound that swam through the wind. At the sight of skin under the thick green kelp, Kazuha’s eyes widen. He didn’t know what he was doing, but the next thing he knew, was him immediately being close to the net. The male ushered his crew mates, and caption away from the net, and after a few seconds they moved away.
“Kazuha? What are you doing?” The voice of Beidou didn’t seem to have processed in his brain, because he didn’t respond, nor did he move away from the now slightly damp net.
Carefully his hands grazed over the kelp, to which the already moved thing inside continued to violently thrash. The mocking. Voices of the people around didn’t males it to Kazuha’s consciousness. His red eyes scanned the kelp as his hands worked to remove the long green strips. When his eyes meet met another, he froze. Whatever was within the net stopped as well.
Time seemed to have slowed to an abrupt stop. Curious eyes, met scared ones, and they seemed to have connected by some invisible string. When the scared eyes blinked, all the weird and uncomfortable kelp was off of their body. As the sun beamed onto them, they struggled to keep their eyes open, had been under thick layers of the oceans grass.
Kazuha stared in awe, at what had been in front of him.
A being with the upper body of a human, a fin with shining scales replaced their legs. Scales came in clusters around the human part of their body. Their nails were sharp, and they had webbed fingers.
As soon as the net had been removed from their body, they had brought a hand over their eyes. A feeling of longing washed over Kazuha at the sight of them shielding their eyes. Just as his hands twitched to reach out to the person before him, the sound of his caption stopped him.
“Alright crew! Everyone listen up! We’re going to set them free, everyone set about to their normal business!” A rumble of groans echoed throughout the crux, yet everyone did as told and event about their own business. Kazuha, however didn’t, still crouched down before the beautiful creature.
“I trust that you’ll be able to care for them?” He looked up to find Beidou looking down at him, something like a smirk was on her face. “Just be sure to be careful.” He wordlessly nodded, not really understanding what she meant, as she walked away.
When he looked back in fro at of him, he was greeted by a pair of curious eyes. In shock, he flinched back, falling onto his but. Water dripped onto him from the mer still being wet, seeing as the creature had gotten really close to him. Their eyes flickered from his, then to his hair. Wordlessly, they slowly moved their hand to his head. Kazuha watched their hand, and stayed still as if frozen in place.
He felt them grab a peace of his hair and pull it closer towards them. Kazuha leaned closer, now understand what they were reaching for. In their hand, was his strand of red hair. They played with it intently, as if it was the most interesting thing they’ve ever seen.
“I need to get you back into the ocean…” With a heated face, his voice trailed off, something about the lack of distance, and the look of innocence in their eyes made Kazuha slightly flustered. It wasn’t like they were in some secluded area either, which didn’t help him any.
At his words they looked at him, disgusted almost.
“I….don’t wanna go back.” They mumbled under their breath. If it weren’t for Kazuha’s incredible hearing, he would’ve missed their angelic voice. Their voice was like air to his lungs, it felt wonderful o hear them speak. For a shor t while, he was beginning the wonder if they could talk. The male didn’t understand the imploring sound in their voice, but his heart sunk at their words. He tilted his head slightly, and they avoided his gaze, opting to look at the sea instead.
He wanted to ask why they didn’t want to return to the water, but figured that it would be best to leave it be. Instead he began looking around.
“Well, doubt you need to get back into water? Before your fins dry out?” They didn't say anything, only nodded as a response. Them not using their words to express themselves was disappointing to say the least. the male sighed, as he stared at the being before him, the wind blew.
His hair blew in the wind, and as he sat there with the majestic creature he made up his mind. His friend, the wind, didn’t guide him to this decision. Looking at the being who refused to look ay him, he had made up his mind.
“I’m gonna take care of you. I’m going to protect you, and keep you safe.”
Chapters; [Nav] [Previous] Part 3[clear skies] [Next coming soon] Warnings: Having chain on(in a non-sexual way) An|been working on this for so long, but the series is back, and i finally have motivation for it again <3
Tumblr media
Hollow footsteps along a cold cavern floor was the only thing you could hear, loud with a suppressing echo. You remembered the pattern to this walk from before, the stillness that it brought to the area around you. Everything except you seemed to stop when the sound arose from the abyss.
You stayed calm, heavy chains weighed you down, however that was also something that you’d remembered from before. So much so that you could even say that you’d grown almost comfortable with the feeling.
As the person walked, you didn’t even have to see them to know who it was, but when you did a ball of loathing made its presence known within your stomach. A person who looked just like you waltzed closer to you, as if they owned everything around. As if they owned you. The only difference had to be the fact that they wore a vail which covered their face.
“What? Not enough pride to show my face to the very being that you locked away?” Your tone calm, but still cut as if you’d just killed. Everything about this person resembled you. From the way they stand, all the way to their body shape. It was like looking in some kind of mirror, but this reflection would never be you.
“I have no need to show you my face. You’re just an imposter, no one would believe that their oh so holy creator could be copied. You told them yourself. How’d the story go? ‘Something that wouldn't be entirely like them. They would make humans that would be similar to them, but none would look like them?” They stared you mockingly, to the point you could hear their smirk, and you wanted to cut it right off your their face. Their arms was crossed as they circled you, looking down at you as if you were their prey.
Your fingers twitched as you glared at the vail, the need to just tear it to shreds was whispering in your ear. Tempting you to attack. However, you didn’t.
“Teyvat’s growing more upset by the day you know…” They continued on, for some reason they ditched the mocking tone, and instead opted for a smooth and persuasive one. They stopped when they were in front of you again. For the first time, in a long time, you did’t understand what they were on about. The feeling of not knowing made a empty feeling in your chest.
“I know this.” Being of divinity, you had a connection with the land, you knew things, and so did the lands you made. “What about it?” For a second, they didn’t say anything, no noise was made, the world was still at a halt, scared to move in the other person’s presence.
“I think you should learn to control your land, before the creations have to suffer for it…” you didn’t move, confused, you didn’t understand what the person was talking about. As far as you knew, everything about Teyvat was the same, well when it come to the agricultural at least. You assumed that the people have clearly grown and developed since you’d been out of your cave like prison.
You keep a strong poker face as you though for a second, then respond.
“I thought you were the creator, and that I’m the imposter, why dont you fix it? Creator.” Your words dripped venom, and burn as if left your throat. They didn’t say anything, instead they walked away, however before they left your line of sight, they stopped.
“Control Teyvat, before I do something that will really hurt that things you love.” You gave no response as you heard their footsteps fade off into the distance. Once you knew they they were gone, the world seemed to replay once again. You sighed, looking down at your tired wrist. The chains that held them tight was really starting to worry you. As you stared at the material memories of what the world used to look like filled your mind.
You remember the warmth that radiates From the sun, the feeling of the wind blowing past you. The thought feels empty now, unlike when it used to bring you comfort. Thinking back into the past used to be your source of will, and strength. Now the only reason, it seems, that you’re still fighting is so that the place that you created isn’t destroyed. You wonder what Teyvat looks like now, how much it’s changed.
If it changed at all.
Then your mind wondered to what that person said. It came back to you clear, especially since it was still fresh in your mind.
“I think you should learn to control your land, before the creations have to suffer for it…”
The line repeated in your head as if it was a video on loop. What had they meant, and what were they planing? Thoughts ran around in your mind and the more you thought, the larger the aching in your head grows. From being locked away for so long, your knowledge of Teyvat’s well being seemingly deteriorated over time. As you had expected when you first arrived in this cell, however, what you didn’t expect was for it to get this bad.
You, as the creator, was supposed to know the land better than anyone, and yet, somehow your connection faltered. In truth you had no idea of the things that was going on outside of your cave, but why let the enemy know?
As long you could continue to get your reflection to believe that you understood what was happening outside of these stone walls, the better. In a situation like this, you needed an upper hand, or a way to make them believe that you had the upper hand. From the land, your mind went to that blond Traveler, and his flying companion.
To you, he looked like another person that you met long ago, but he was the male version. They have that same light yellow colored hair, and golden brown eye and the same skin color. Though, his hair is longer, and their clothing style is vastly different. You knew that you’d never made these people before.
Never have you even made anyone who even looked remotely close. Not to mention that their choice of clothing was one that is foreign to Teyvat. When you looked at them, you could see a shift of the glow in their eyes, and of the color of the glowing patches that they wear on their outfits.
The shift is so subtle, so crisp and perfect that you felt compelled to draw him in. You’ve had Outlanders come to Teyvat before, this was nothing short of new, but these Travelers.
They were something special.
When you called out to the blond, you did not expect him to answer. You didn’t know that he would be able to respond, it surprised you in complete honesty. It was when you saw him for the first time, that you knew that he would be the one to hold the world in his hands.
And what ever he choose to do with it, will be completely up to him.
You just hope that he’ll learn that soon. Otherwise, he may never find a home.
or his twin.
November 20th **87;
”What are we going to do? We don’t have any place to stay! And the entirety of Teyvat is against itself!”
“Pai, You need to calm down.” You look over to your companion who is distraught. His chest heaving up and down as you pace back and forth. Before he could cut you off, you continued. “We can’t stress ourselves over this, we need to stay calm and diligent so that we can figure this whole thing out.”
———————————-
48 hours ago;
With the sky being almost perfect, you’d thought that the day would be as well. With your help, Aether was able to get all of his commissions done, now all you needed to do was talk to Katherine. Since your small trio happened to be in the forested area of Sumeru, you decided it would be easier to go visit the Sumerian Katherine.
On the way it was fairly peaceful. There was less fungi and hilichurls wondering around. The walk, however did feel feel longer than normal, but the nice breeze and relaxed atmosphere made up for it. Upon making it to Sumeru everything was as normal as ever. While walking the streets you saw various people that you’ve met during your previous travels.
“Hey Alhaitham!” You waved as you saw him, he was reading a small hand book, like normal. He looked up at your group, he only nodded, a small wave came after as soon as he looked back down at his book.
“Alhaitham thinks hes so much better than us doesn’t he! He can’t even say a simple ‘hello’!” Paimon yelled, clearly upset.
“You know how he is Pai. He just doesn’t have a lot to say. He’s still our friend.” You try to reason, to which Aether nodded with you.
“He doesn’t mean any harm.”
You continued along, soon stopping when getting close to Katherine’s commission booth for the adventure’s guild. For some reason there was a large number of adventures, and scholars surrounding the small booth, which is highly unusual. Despite being well known, and very much used, it was always empty, and not many people gathered around it at once. Ever.
You could hear the murmurs amongst the group and you could only make out some of the tings that were said.
“………Missing” “………here….” “what are……..” “where…..she?”
and more things that mixed and tangled like vines and thread. You didn’t stray far from Aether as he pushed is way to the center of the crowd, clearly determined to get to the bottom of this whole situation. As soon as you made it to the center, everything was just as you had expected it to be.
The pale, black haired woman was gone. Something about her sudden disappearance sent shivers down your spine, and flowed down and up your body. Touching everything that connected to you.
“What are we gonna do Traveler? If Katherine isn’t here who’s gonna take commissions? And help the Adventure’s guild!” Paimon cried, panic already getting to her as her normally high pitched voice started to lower, and brake. “We have to do something!” She continued.
“How about we go see if the clones are still at the other Nations. If they are then there’s nothing to worry about.” He answered, trying to sound as calm as possible, but you could see the signs of panic grow.
“And if she’s not?” For some reason your voice was dry, and you worried about what his response will be.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that point…”
————————————
36 hours later;
It took over a day of a minimum amount of stops and brakes, and straight movement to get all across Teyvat. Starting at Sumeru, then to Fontaine, then to Liyue, to Mondstadt, then to Inazuma. Even after all the searching, you couldn’t find her. Now in Inazuma, you sat thinking about what to do, who to talk to even. Theres plenty of people who might be able to help, but even then, not a lot of people could.
While at each nation, you tried to speak with each of the Archons, however it seemed that all of them was busy, even Venti. Which is strange because all the bard really does is lazy around stringing tunes on his lire. He’s never busy.
While walking, you continued to think. ‘We really went all around Teyvat to look for someone. Not that she’s not worth it, but surely we wouldn’t be in such a rush to look for her. And not to mention that every time she isn’t at her usual spot, i get this horrible feeling in the pits of my stomach. Something can’t be right, or we’re just overreacting for no reason. Maybe she just took a day off?’ You looked at your companions who looked sick in the face, well Aether at least did. Paimon, like usual look perfectly healthy.
“Traveler? Are you ok.” He didn’t respond to Paimon’s question, as he looked around almost as if he was lost. He stopped for a moment, holding his head in distress. You stepped closer, reaching out to him, only for him to trip when you make contact with him.
“Hey! What’s wrong?” You try to make a move but this time he actually fell. You catch him before his body hits the ground, and hold him close. As you do so, you take a second took look around for anyone, you started to scream for someone, anyone to help your friend. But the world as empty, and silent.
What the fuck is happening.
Characters ;; Freminet, lyney, and Lynette Warnings ;; drowning, blood, almost dying, wounds/scars, burning, kinda long(ig??) Word count ;; 1.5k An | this was supposed to be Sagau, but somehow it turned into this. Also this took so long to publish like bffr
Tumblr media
Far beneath the land, past all of the lively plants and animals of the surface, there’s a cave.
Dark, and cold, nothing like an embracing hug from a loving mother. More like the emptiness of a grave site. Old and lonely, with only thoughts to fill in whatever sound is supposed to be there.
Water drips from the ceiling, falling into a larger body of water down below. The cave with a jagged ceiling and walls is full of water, that almost reaches the top, leaving a pocket of cold air.
The water is no different, however. The cold stillness of the water brings no comfort. It’s sends spikes of frost throughout your body. Starting at some unknown place within, then sprouting out to attack every part of the human body.
At the floor of the cave, broken statues lay as if it was a graveyard of bodies. Each one different, and cracked from its top to bottom. Parts of each were broken off, rather it’d be without its arm, or leg, its hand, or head. Plants grew on some of them, covering the cracks lefts behind on the statues.
Seven statues in total, all well withered and deformed to an hideous extent. The statues were hard to recognize, any detail that was once on the statues were now worn off, and forgotten to the darkness. Comparing the statues to the state they were once in, its a shame to see how far they have fallen. One statue in particular, however, looked worse than all of the other combined. The head of the statue was detached, lost to somewhere unknown, the abyss probably. Chips and cracks littered every inch of the statue, the only recognizable piece of the statues was the deconstructed shape.
The person that the statue imitated was a person who was tall. The body of that of a warriors, from the tight shoulders, and stiff form, it could almost be described as closed off.
Dead plants surrounded the stone figure, and hugged it, as if it wanted some kind of support or safety. The only thing it got in return was silence. A cold shell, drowned in even colder water.
======================
A blond diver swims alone, in the sea of his homeland, he swims. The water to him is a safe kind of relief on his body. As he uses his arms to move himself forward, he looks around. Ferminet has nothing that he is looking for, he has been through this part of the ocean many times before. The further he ventures, the less he sees however. The occasional otter or seal that typically swims around, is no where in his line of sight. Using his arms and legs, he continues to venture forward. The deeper he goes into the depths, the more he can hear. The sound of something talks to him in an inaudible tone.
Though his brain screamed at him that something deathly lie ahead, his body did nothing from stopping him from venturing deeper into the cold. The water cooled the further that he went, away from the brightness of the suns rays, away from the safety of the light.
His body moved as if being pulled on a string. He doesn’t control where hes going, he doesn’t even know where he is. The way the water surrounds him is a kind of surreal feeling. Nothing likes hes felt before. Though welcoming, his brain knows that he shouldn’t be going this far away from the surface, so why doesn’t he stop?
The water goes against his brain, and he feels his body continue to move as water seemingly win the battle. Though now far from the surface, he can still see. No light reflects this deep down, so him being able to see every jagged edge, every corner, every spike, comforts him. It’s a similar feeling that he gets when hes with his older siblings.
Soon he makes it to the bottom, where everything is sharp, and rigged with shape. He turns to look around, taking in everything bit by bit. It’s when he sees a stone surface that he finally feels cold. A shiver runs through his body, but he moves closer.
“vas, aude in custodia…”
The sound is in a language that he does not know, a song that he can’t understand. It doesn’t sound like someone he knows, it doesn’t even sound like someone’s voice, more like an echo of a song, in a different language. In a tone of music, but somehow it soothes him.
“Accede propius, Vas creationis.”
“Accede propius”
The sound is almost a muffled song, the closer he moves, the more sounds he hears. Yet the song has yet to grow any louder, it stays a musical whisper of the water. Seeing the stone closer, he now comes to realize that this is a statue, beautiful as it lies, covered in a think substance, more dense than the water that surrounds it.
The boys feels a cold shift, as he reaches closer, wanting to feel the material even though he was sure what it was. His mind had yet to agree with any of these actions, but by now, his thoughts had become something of the past.
Who needs those pesky thoughts anyway? They’re just there to make you second guess what is clearly correct.
When his hand grazes across the stone, he realizes that the stone is warm, opposite of the cold water that he floats in now. It feels like pyro, it reminds him of his older brother, in a way. The blond wonders if his brother would enjoy this?
The thought left as quickly as it came, no matter how much he pondered over the thought, he couldn’t remember what he was just thinking about. The warmth that radiated from the statue continued to grow. Alarms in his head started to sound as the heat continued to get much more intense, yet he couldn’t seem to pull away.
His body mistakingly believed that the burning heat that warmed his body was safe, though it was quite the opposite. The thing that prevented to cold from eating him alive slowly was now consuming him much faster-
“Hey what are you doing!? Don’t touch that!” The sound was clear unlike everything else under the depths. He didn’t realize until he broke from the water and was now breathing air, that somehow, he got away.
His lungs felt hot as salty water erupted from the pits of his lungs. He grabbed onto his chest as he heaved, and his torso raised and fell at an uncontrollable paste. For a long time his body burned, as he tossed and grabbed at the fabric, something wasn’t right. he couldn’t tell if the water that was in his eyes was the start of tears or the end of sea water.
The water that spilled from his mouth prevent any and all noise from coming from his throat, unless it was that unbearably harsh sound of him coughing.
“Hey! Hey!” He almost missed the sound of someone talking to him, by now he could tell that water was coming from grey his eyes. “I’m going to grab you, ok?” He couldn’t answer, and he was sure that the person, whoever they were, could understand that. His body was lifted and moved to a new position, where his head was propped up onto something wet, but firm.
Water brushed against in him in soft waves. Something was pressed against his shoulders, and as if nothing happened, he sat up.
=============
“How are you feeling?” His older sister asks as she hands him a cup and saucer.
“Better…” He mumbled with his head down. The feeling of guilt had washed over him so many times by now that he’d been drowned by it. He remembered both of his older siblings saying that they’d spent hours looking for him. They asked so many people of they had seen him, only for everyone to respond with the same pitiful answer.
“No, I haven’t, but if I do see him, I’ll tell him that your looking for him.”
They heard it so much so that Lyney had just stopped asking entirely. This left Lynette to have to do all the talking by herself, while Lyney looked around.
The only way that they were able to find him was because they heard someone shouting, and they hopped that whoever was making such a noise was their little brother. Only to find his unconscious body, drenched in water. His helmet was no where to be found, and his right hand had a make shift bandaged on it made of kelp.
“I’m sorry..” was the only words that he could mutter, he felt too ashamed to say anything else. Fearing that if he did, he’d somehow say the wrong thing.
“Also,” Lynette continued “I found this in your hand, did you find it while diving?” She showed him a scale, sharp, and shiny. It had been too large to have been owned by any normal fish, and was a unique shade of teal.
“No..” His words trailed off. Where did this beauty come from?
For the stories weren’t true. Of course they aren’t real. Why would it be true?
Stories of The most divine, their grace. The Creator.
They praise the title like its a name, like if they called it enough times then someone the creator will respond. Why do they believe that their prayers will be answered?
As if one day the story will prove to be true and-
A Shooting star…
A star has finally shone in bright gold hues as it soars across the Teyvat skies!
“Did you see the star?”
“That means the creator will come soon right?”
“Of course! Everyone rejoice! The creator will be coming soon!”
A chorus of music and cheers spread throughout the land as if it was a disease. But have they forgotten? Have they really forgotten something so important? Maybe thats just what creations do…
They have no means of importance. They do not know that they should remember. Why would they, too consumed in the thought of having to wait no longer, they celebrate.
A lost cause, yes, this place is nothing but a lost cause.
They refuse to listen, to think past words on peices of paper. Paper that they themselves deemed important! They said that they would follow the words of their god. They said! They preached! They prayed!
Hoping to please what they were never going to get in the first place…
==========
Problems that these creations face. The Archons struggle to rule. Problems in each Nation, what to do. Oh what to do?
They never would’ve expected a blond traveler to show up. They’re bright and kind. full of sprit as they help where they can. They look for their sibling that they hold so dear to their heart!
Such a kindhearted soul.
Giving everything, just for some information on a person who doesn’t even want to be found. Only to be sent on a wild goose chase, and to be face with more and more problems As they go along. The shining star faces their own problems, and others on top of that.
They’re so strong, so brave and heroic.
Struggles that aren’t even theirs are placed onto their shoulders as if they caused the problems in the first place. They continue to go on this life endangering quest just to get no where, the only thing they they’ve gained from this journey has been physical strength.
They can’t don't take breaks, and help too many for their own good. They wonder why they struggle to get out of bed, and why they’re always exhausted.
Not realizing that they are dying quicker than they should be.
Stars are supposed to burn for millions of years, yet the creations are killing the shining star in just 500!
Problems that these creations face. The Archons struggle to rule. Problems in each Nation, what to do. Oh why did they do that?
They believe that they are in the know, that they are right. They aren’t. ‘For the creators wish!’ They say to justify this cause. Such inhumane actions, it doesn’t even make sense.
They are blinded by an idea. Something that is really just a dream. No matter what they call it, it’ll only be a dream, justified by a misguided idea. Framing The Fallen star? When they’ve done nothing wrong!
They say that The Fallen star has stolen the face of the divine? Do they not know? How do they not know?
But they still believe that they are correct.
Correct to react when there was nothing to react to in the first place. They know not of the divine. They know nothing. They become hostile, and for what? A cause they made up? Go as far as trying to harm and hurt The Fallen star. Hunting them where ever they go, even if they’ve tried to make peace.
Torture, beating, robbing, hurting, manipulating, and deceiving them? What gave them that idea? Who told them to do that?
Not the creator. So then who? Surely someone must’ve told them to, right?
Who gave them to the right, the power, or even the thought to hurt what the creator made especially for this beautiful world.
These creations don’t deserve peace! They do not even deserve to look upon such a wonder of divinity. They’re a diamond that has been chipped and thrown away just because the ones who look upon them think they are trying to take the shape of another that they are waiting to get.
They hurt the very things they claim to praise, and once if they ever find out that what they’ve done has gone agains their almighty god, then they wont be able to justify their cause with a good reason. Any reason at that.
Tumblr media
========
How do you justify that?
With Freedom?
With a Contract?
Eternity?
knowledge?
Justice?
War?
Love?
There is no way to justify what has been done to the stars that The creator have been brought to this world. The pure souls have been corrupted to the point of no return, and now they are bound.
Once they meet again the realm of the creations of this world shall die meet an untimely disaster . What mercy will these creations have?
None.
None of this was done in the name of the creator….
After the creator ascends into the stars they will soon return, and grant the land of Teyvat grace by returning.
They will return exactly two weeks after disaster a star falls. On the day of their return, the world will reward the people, depending on how they treat the raising star, and fallen star.
Until the creator is displeased with the land that their creations have tempered with, the land of Teyvat will rest.
The divine knows their land, and the land talks to the divine. Rather we know it or not
They know what you ꀸꍏꍟꂵꂦꈤꍟꌗ creations have done to their star.
Except the day that the raising star, and the fallen star meet. For that day, will change history.
Do not misinterpret my words, they are neither a gift nor a curse.
Just words from a tale that has already happened.
A star from the divine
Renewed Dreams
Characters ;; Lyney, Lynette Genre ;; FLuff warnings;; Reader gives up on their dreams(ig) An|Happy new year! This is the first post of 2024!
Tumblr media
Growing up, you alway knew what you were going to do with your life. You loved music, even before you knew what music was, so when you started in the music industry, you became really proud of your talent and love for music. You even had friends who helped your dreams develop, your friends that had been around for a long time;
Lyney, and Lynette.
Twins that you’ve known for a long while, and love being around, the difference in their personalities always made you enjoy being around them. For a long time you hoped to follow them into the entertainment industry. Maybe even preform with them.
However you also quickly dropped your dreams of music. It wasn’t going where you’d dreamed it would, and focusing to much on music made your life surprisingly difficult. When you put too effort into making music, it took away from the necessity things that you need to purely survive, so you dropped it, and made a plan to hopefully go back to your musical career.
Until then you focused on becoming apart of law enforcement. Though this was clearly much more difficult than making music, the jobs that you got made you a lot more money than you’d ever dreamed of. This branch of business grew much faster and survived much longer. Over time your name became something that people looked up to.
The role of being a protector hung itself over your head, and from there you worked around. You hid your love for music behind a curtain, never really looking behind it. Now you protect the people of your homeland, Fontaine.
———-
A breeze of emptiness washed over the Court of Fontaine, as you walked along the paved floor. Only a few dogs, and mechs wondered around, minding its own business. Normally the lack of people wouldn’t have caused you any discomfort, because your patrol shift is during the later hours of the day. The times when people are starting to go back home to the euphoria that come from their households. The part that unsettled you was the the fact that it was still early in the day.
Most people would be out of their houses and going about their task for whatever it was they needed. You continued to walk around searching for any clues that someone beside yourself had left their homes.
For a while you didn’t find anything, until you heard the sound of footsteps speeding toward you from behind. In a worried state of panic, you spun around, placing your hand on your signature weapon, already mentally preparing for a fight only to see a young woman who was from Fontaine standing in front of you.
The woman looked confused, and held a hint of fear behind her brown eyes. Tears had already begun to brim her eyes as she stared at you.
Immediately you stood back to your normal stance and took you hand off your weapon. You woman watched closely as it disappeared into seemingly nothing.
“Oh, im sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. It’s just the emptiness of the court is making me a bit nervous.” She seemingly eased up at your words, which worked in your favor. You’d seen her around plenty of times before, and even talked to her on a few occasions. “Do you know where everyone is? I’ve been looking around for a while?”
She pipped up at your words, surprised? Maybe?
“Haven’t you heard? Lyney, and Lynette are hosing a show. It’s been talk of the town for a few days now…I’m surprised you heard nothing of it. They even said that there’s supposed to be a special guest in the performance as well!” From there she went back to making her way to the Opera house. As she trotted away, you could hear her mumbling under her breathe. “I wonder who the guest will be? Maybe that blond Traveler!”
How haven’t you heard of this, you don’t know. Typically when any show is hosted at the Opera house, everyone and their momma knows about it. In a state of curiosity you quickly made your way to the Opera House.
~~~~~~~~~
The room was dark, the only light was the dim candles that shone from upon the walls. The curtains on the stage stayed closed, confirming your theory that the show hadn’t started yet. As your eyes adjusted to the dimness of the room, you looked at the rows of bodies before you. Some people you recognized, most you didn’t. Small conversations amongst the crowd, overruled the soft almost inaudible sound of music. All conversations stopped after a bright light shined onto the ruby red curtains on the stage.
“Welcome to Lyney and Lynette’s Magic show!” You heard the sound of a good friend of yours announce. With a loud and energetic voice, Lyney’s voice reached the ears of everyone around.
As the curtains opened, everyone waited with anticipation as they watched the stage. The only thing on the stage was a hat, Lyney’s signature top hat specifically. As you watched, a small cat appear inside the hat and pop its little head out of the hat, you also hard a familiar voice come from your right.
“How are you liking the show?” You looked over, and there he was, the man of the hour, Lyney. Your shocked face made him chuckle with an overly confident smirk. “I need your help.” He tilited his head to the side as he stared into your eyes
“With what?’ As the two of you quietly conversed, Lynette on the stage, was holding Lyney’s hat in her hands. Somehow the cat that was once in the hat was gone. Lynette, showed the hat to the crowed, proving that the cat has now completely disappeared.
She then places the hat back on the floor, this time, the opening of the hat now on the floor.
“Now i am sure you all must be curious as to whom our special guest is for tonight, and I think that it’s time that you all meet them.” Lyney says, finally entering the stage from the left. He walked closer to the hat, and as soon as he reached out for it his dear sister stopped him.
“Wait! We have to prepare the stage for them first.” Her voice, caused all anticipation to grow, and Lyney looked up at his twin.
“Well you must be right, how about we give them the proper working environment for the performance, shall we?” Without saying anything, Lynette took off her hat and reached inside as if she was searching for something. A gasp of amazement washed over the crowed, the sound left your lips as well, as Lynette pulled various kinds of props out of her hat. Musical notes of different kinds and colors, paper of various sizes, chairs, and even instruments.
As Lynette pulled decorations out of her hat, Lyney put them up. With every music note he grabbed, all he did was throw it up into the air, then the notes would then float around as if they were weightless and drifted on water.
By the time that the twins were done, the stage was beautifully dressed. Everything musical related was on the stage, and in the center of the stage, a DJ booth stood. It didn’t match the aesthetic of Fontaine, and compared to the cool colors of all the other decorations, the bright neon colors of the booth stood out like a sore thumb.
The setup was grounded, and held more neutral colors like browns, blacks, greys, and whites. It looked more “Earthy” rather than the ocean vibe that the rest of the opera room gave off. Lyney, and Lynette re-grouped in the front of the stage, returning to the unmoving top hat.
“Now that our stage is ready…” Lyney started, looking over to his sister.
“It’s time to reveal the person of the hour,” she continued. You could hear the difference in her tone from now, compared to at the beginning of the show. She seemed more enthusiastic, you concluded upon closer inspection. Lyney reached down toward his hat, and quickly yanked it onto his head, revealing….nothing. Your eyebrow raised, as you looked down at you friend.
“You really didn’t expect me, to come out of that hat, did you?” Everyone looked up to stood as you stood at the DJ booth, that was now hovering over the stage. After a beat of silence, the audience cheered, and screamed.
“Everyone! The great protecteur de Fontaine!” The volume of the crowed increased by several notches from the introduction that the people so desperately waited for. You smiled at the audience.
“Alright Fontaine, It’s time I give you a show that your not gonna forget!” As you looked down, you spotted The twins staring up at you, smiling. ‘Thank you’ you silently mouthed to your friends. They nodded, returning their gazes to the audience.
