Hey everyone!
Thank you for the great response to my first full animation project!
Right now, I'm working in the background to improve my blender physics skills and to make a short clip that I think will be really cool (which should be out soon!).
Here's a sneak peak on some of the objects that'll be in it, see if you can guess what the theme will be!

Just finished my first full length Blender animation!
These two artist mannequins step into the spotlight in an emotional tale of friendship.
Let me know what you think!

Viewport vs render: Artist bedroom 🖌️
A quick 3d render of a scene I made for an animation project in blender (another!).
For this one, I've been following Alex Cordebard's course to improve my animation skills, but have added a few things of my own.
Should hopefully get this one and the caterpillar animation done soon!

A quick sneak peek of a project I'm working on in blender!
I wonder what's inside the caterpillar's hole? 🐛
Not sure if he's moving a bit too fast, so might need to tweak it later, I originally went for 20 seconds but he was moving too slow for that.

Quick animation practice: Block boy vs. beach ball!
Did a bit of a sneaky trick to stop the wall from blocking the camera on this. The wall actually moves out of frame when you can't see it to avoid clipping 😈

Doing some testing of the first level of the arcade + flappy bird style game I made through gamedev.tv's course.
Nearly finished the cave level, so should have a sneak peek soon!

A follow-up to my current WIP underwater animation.
I gained a better understanding of material masking to bake the rough and smooth bump from the high-poly mesh.

A quick sneak peek at my new 3D fish character for an upcoming short animation reel!
Modeled and textured in Blender, this time focussing on practising my sculpting and retopology skills.
Had a bit of a mini panic when I went to bake the normals, I must've mispressed something as it triangulated and distorted my low poly mesh (luckily I had a backup!)

Been a while since I last posted an update. I've been away for a short while but it's business as usual again now.
For this model I mostly focused on learning how to work with curves to make the bike frame, handlebars and spokes. Might look into more Boolean and hard surface modelling next 😁
Bonus beaver photo from the trip:

I'm away for a while so this is temporarily a travel blog for now 😁
Had a wonderful day starting in Kolín for some brunch. After this we headed off to Kutná Hora, a picturesque town with an impressive cathedral and gardens (had to grab a trdelník of course), after which we visited Sedlec Ossuary - or the "Bone church". (No pictures allowed, sorry!)
Lastly we made our way to Pardubice, and of course get the Czech classic "Smažený sýr". Still got a bit of travelling to do, so this'll be a bit of a break from the 3d stuff 😁

Currently working through Grant Abbitt's course on environmental design in blender. Here's some of the modular houses I made that I'll be putting in a larger scene soon.
I found out the hard way that making the prefabs and joining them together makes the final build have tonnes of faces 😭 Luckily the decimate modifier came in clutch and this is a lesson for next time.
Let me know what you think about this 😃

Decided to go for a dark cave level next, where you'll have to use a searchlight to avoid crashing into things.
Might have to make some stalagmites/stalactites for some interesting obstacles to avoid.
Of course I had to make a few cave inhabitants as well to match the theme :D

I've recently been taking some of GameDev.tv's online courses for Unity 6, here's a few pics of the first level from the module "Rocket Boost". Thinking of adding a few more levels to pad it out before testing, maybe a cave/hidden tomb or a wilderness with weird plants to fit the space theme.
