Hello everyone, I'm taking a mini break on the current game to focus on a smaller project: I'm participating in Furry Game Jam #1 this year, I figured I could use the experience and training.

The game jam lasts until March 23rd, the theme is "Blocked".

25 years of Sims.

My entire life was spent playing the Sims, this series defined my childhood and my adulthood alike. This should be a time worth celebrating. As a long time simmer I should be so excited about the re-release of the Sims 2, so why is my heart filled with nothing but grief?

Oh yeah, cause they charge you for the price of a full modern game for a 20 years old game they actively broke. Thanks EA.

The ultimate collection they gave away for free years ago works, people. Legacy is the only version that has issues, and these people are charging us money for it.

It shouldn't be hurting me this way, it shouldn't affect me, EA has been a shady company since day one.

And yet my heart bleeds for this series that deserved so much better. My heart bleeds for people like me who love this game and have been taken hostage by EA's monopoly in the life simulation genre for far too long.

I hope other simmers are holding up OK in these trying times.

We need to stick together.

Townies & Outfits

A selection of mods designed to give you greater control over your Sims' outfits and the Townies in your save file

Last Update: 12/15/24 - First Publication for the Removed Situation Jobs Outfits mod, others are up to date.

Next Project: I'm currently working on modifying a lot of the game filter to delete townies generation, with a little configuration beforehand!

👔 No Outfit Change When Promoted

Currently in testing phase

If you are like me and you like to manually set-up the work outfits of your sims, nothing is more frustrating than having to re-create the outfit after your sims get promoted.

This mod prevents work outfits to be modified when a Sim is promoted or demoted. Additionally, it provides some options to adjust the work outfit, available when clicking on a Sim under the Outfits > Work Outfit sub category:

Regenerate Work Outfit: recreate the work outfit(s) using the current level of the sims career(s)

Copy Accessories from Everyday: copies all the accessories (glasses, hats, jewelry, nails, rings, socks, bracelets...) from the 1st everyday outfit to the career outfit(s)

Modify in CAS: quick access to the sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas cheat

Thanks to Scumbumbo for their work on the Outfit Tools that really helped me set this up, and Scripthoge for the injector that allow to replace existing scripts!

🎭 Removed Situation Jobs Outfits

Many creators already tackled this subject: many situations in the game spawn Sims and for Sims in those Situation Jobs, a random outfit is generated (with some tags used). But in most cases, the result is a disaster, and sometimes, it would be better to use their regular outfits.

I took a different approach, and instead of overriding all those Situation Jobs, I created a simple injector that allow me just to replace that part. It makes the mod way less likely to break stuff at updates (as Situation Jobs are regularly changed, last time it was for the L&D patch).

Some examples of outfits replaced:

Active Careers from Get To Work will use your Sims Work Outfit instead of generating a new one

Entertainers and DJs will use their Party Outfit

Students in High School and Teachers will use their regular outfit (even for those part of a club)

Sims spawned for many festivals or events (City Living festivals, Cottage Living fair, Island Living festivals…) will use their regular outfit

Other situations like paparazzis, loungers in parks, weirdos from City living will also use their regular outfit.

I plan to play more and identify even more outfits to replace, but I think that's already a good start 🤗

💘 Less Randos on Cupid Corner

This mod limits the number of random Sims appearing on Cupid's Corner to focus mainly on the ones from your own save. You should have 5 Sims from your save (with a stronger chance of using played Sims) and 1 random sims (this sims should be from the Gallery if enabled).

As it's a little bit less than the initial number of potential matches, I reduced the cooldown to 8 hours.

I added an alternate version that removes the ridiculous fish and trophy poses, as they don't make sense in most cases.

❤️‍🩹 Less Couples on Community Lots

Lovestruck features couples visiting a community lot, doing nothing but cuddling or romantic interactions, with two couples at a time, taking up space for more useful visitors using the lot's facilities.

With this mod, only one couple will visit at a time, and while they will still perform romantic interactions, they might do other stuff on the lot (ordering from the bar, playing games, doing spa activities, sing karaoke, etc.)

MINI TUTORIAL

Cas Texture Compatibility

This is the texture map for ALL CAS items. In previous games, we had separate maps for certain items. The Sims 4 has just this one itty bitty map, with designated spaces ( as labeled ).

When asking about compatibility, what you’re really asking is, did the creator place their item in the correct space? ANY texture bleed into a different boxed space will result in incompatible textures, as the items are fighting to use the same one image.

For example, some hair creators will use both the HAIR and the HAT spaces. This makes layering a hat on that hair, incompatible, as the hair is occupying that box, as well as its own.

This further complicates things when creators make accessory objects, such as eyelashes or bags. We don’t have a space for it, so we’re forced to use the space of something else.

It’s a sucky set-up! I hope this helps explain why certain CAS objects don’t work with other objects.

Three Person Sofa Cuddles

Hello Simmers! This place turned 4 years old not so long ago, and I made a posepack to celebrate!

I made this set of 6 poses, 2 scenarios for 3 men enjoying some sweetness and intimacy on a 3 seat couch.

Place three teleporter statues (or gnomes if you’re a MCCC user) in the middle of the sofa, facing the same direction as the sofa and pose them with the pose player.

Be careful, it might look strange on CC sofas, or loveseats!

Cottage Living inspired Archway

Hi there! Ever built a cottage in the sims 4 with Cottage Living only to realize there are no matching archways to go with the doors that come with the pack? Well a user on Dark Side Inc. did! One of the members of the Discord server Dark Side Inc had a special request for a low arch that would fit the Cottage Living color scheme for their special little Cottage, so with a lot of time sweat and tears (mostly for the translations), I delivered, and I now want to share it with you too!

This cute little Low Arch comes with each swatch that came with Cottage Living, now you might be asking “do I need Cottage Living to use this arch?” of course not! It’s entirely base game compatible, comes with its own description in almost all languages, and will add a little pop of color to any room it’s put in.

From pure laziness I’ll admit I didn’t take preview pictures of all 10 swatches, but I did do my best to stick as closely as possible to the colors of the original doors.

is cereal a soup?

Hi Hay.

According to the Cambridge dictionary, a soup is a "usually hot, liquid food made from vegetables, meat, or fish", cereal is typically composed of cereal, sugar and milk, meaning that by definition it isn't a soup.

Still according to Cambridge, stew is "a type of food consisting usually of meat or fish and vegetables cooked slowly in a small amount of liquid"

Milk counts as a liquid, and if you serve your cereal with warm milk you can consider the milk is slowly cooking your cereal, making it stew. Cereal is stew.

Ever seen that ugly eye ring that the game looooves to put on randomly generated NPCs? I don't think anybody actually likes that ring. Some stop it from being used randomly, some yeet it from their game. Me? I decided I'd make it into something better. Introducing the start to a series of CC I'm going to make: Colorarity's EA Fixes. When EA fucks up so badly you have to fix their stuff yourself!

I created a new mesh and completely hand painted the textures, no more do you have to stare at that god awful piece of jewelry!

Each color corresponds to the original colors of the ring, but I'm open for requests!

Bonus: it replaces the eye ring entirely, so if sims were generated with that ring, it'll now show up as my signet instead! Handy isn't it?

It's enabled for all occults so, your vampires, aliens, mermaids and spellcasters can all rock this epic jewelry.

Disabled for random.

For both male and female frames.

Uses the EA ring slot, so it shouldn't conflict in texture with things that don't normally conflict with rings.

Conflicts with any mod that affects the Eye Ring, only have one of those at once in your game please.
