Gender Dysphoria is a Dutch Angle

I've never been able to explain my personal experience of gender dysphoria very well because I'm generally not very good with words. I think it's more effective to evoke the same feeling in art. The closest way I could put it into words is the way the Dutch angle creates a sense of unease. Dysphoria feels slanted. I have my hand on my chest because that's where this emotion felt in my body. I gaze away from the bright light that shines on my face because I rarely look at the sense of unease straight on.

I use my art as an outlet for my thoughts related to the trans experience. Funnily enough I post more online about being trans BECAUSE I can't say a lot of it IRL. Also expect a comic about "making being trans your personality" sometime soon (or not)

They're not in my head and can't tell me who I am. You also don't need to "prove" yourself to be valid

I'm kinda tired of people telling me that's it's "too much effort" to remember.... just say you don't care. Yes, pronouns are just words, but words convey meaning! It shows you want to create a space that makes people feel comfortable.

I love surprise gender euphoria. One minute you feel off, really off... and then boom! Binder. Not perfect but felt so much better. Such a good pick-me-up. Sometimes there are situations where I can't bind when I go out so I just got to wait it out until I get back.

First of all, just as a disclaimer, I would like to say that I have fully healed from this situation years ago, and now when I look back on it I feel humor rather than the negative feelings that I experienced at the time ( you can joke about this). I wanted to tell this story because it is a part of my lore, and without the backstory of the necklace, the remaining parts of the story aren't as funny.

I'm lucky that this is the only rejection to coming out that affected me, and I wasn't that close to this person. Most of the people in my life are very accepting, so don't feel too bad for me.

update: since I see some people are worried it's radioactive: it's just stainless steel, I'm fine guys -- I'm 90% sure it's just a placebo for conspiracy theorists
