|| 2/10/18 || LONG APPRECIATION POST. 1. I am so proud of these artists! I picked these guys to be in the show because of their passion I portray their stories as minorities. I genuinely hope that you all learned from this experience and I hope this isn’t your last show because you guys made a strong body of work. Without it, I would not have had a successful show! For my for time curating, I can confidently say there are parts I could have improved on but for a first show, I’m proud of how well it did. My painting mentors and tattoo mentor meeting each other and sharing wisdom. One of my worst fears going into the art and tattoo industry was the competitiveness of it. I believe competition drives motivation but I don’t believe it should build walls. It meant a lot to me to have people who barely know me commit their time to come to this show so thanks Anbu fam 🙏 So I you made it this far, thanks for reading all that stuff. I don’t think I spoke very well at the show because of nerves but I really wanted to create a space for artists of color to celebrate their differences and share their struggles. These artists were brave in being vulnerable and opening their stories to other people. I hope everyone who came to the show found a piece they found comfort in. So let’s celebrate our differences and keep working towards a world where we don’t judge each other by our exterior. There is beauty in age. Don’t be afraid of age. ▪️(Note to self as I enter into a quarter life crisis 😅)▪️ Update since in quit my job: it has been an extreme rollercoaster ride. Adjusting to doing a lot of solo creative projects was tough. I was being impatient and wanted results right away. It’s hard when all your friends are out with their big kid jobs and you’re still in school, financially struggling, and still depend on mom and dad. It is lonely and it hurts the ego but I’m at a turning point right now. I’m starting to see all the drawing practice I’ve put in the last couple of weeks finally show progress. I draw faster and more accurately. I can start drawing floral work without a reference and this was one of the results. (at Toronto, Ontario)

Thank you @azhariimam1 for having us at @kingpanthertattoos. I met so many people and everyone was so nice and their support was overwhelming. This was the push I needed to keep spreading awareness for stricter gun laws. I can’t do much on my part but what I can do is make art. My goal has always been to inspire others to take action and I hope at least one or two people will stand by me in this fight.  Check out @hellboydengen and his line. He will make you a sick custom one of a king piece. We didn’t expect for the themes in our works to coordinate so well but it was meant to be. I met this guy when I was getting tatted by @rarelythestudent while he was getting tatted by @girlfromqueen. I would not have guessed that the easiest choice I made to have Julian tattoo me would lead me to this show. Thank you everyone for your support and please DM me if you guys have more thoughts on the pieces.
