Day 17 of #getlovedup challenge is #massage. 💞💞💞 I may not be able to afford a full body massage, but through my yoga practice I've been able to incorporate some great asanas to reach those hard to get stress points on a daily basis. 🙌🏾 -------- My favorite asana is to lie back on my mat with arms wrapped around bent knees and roll backward & forward. I make sure to roll back to my shoulders before rolling forward. It hits those knots every time. 👍🏾

A bit behind this weekend. Trying to squeeze in a week's worth of activities in 2 days! 😂 Day 16 of #getlovedup challenge is #communication. @koyawebb suggested we journal throughout the day. What I discovered about myself is that the inspiration & motivation that fuels my mornings and mid afternoons runs on empty as the sun begins to set. I try to push myself further, but my body won't cooperate. In actuality, my mind is the silly one, refusing to listen to the body & spirit, trying to go it alone without help from the other 2. I clearly lost my mind!!!🤕So not the goal of yoga. Need to remember to find the balance and respect the body's need to rest and reenergize to help get my mind right. #lessonslearned 💜🙏🏾💜

💜Schedules help to ensure I stick to my daily health & fitness goals which include yoga. Without a schedule, I feel out of balance & often don’t meet my goals.
💜But you can’t allow schedules to become too regimented. You’ll drive yourself crazy. Allow for flexibility & creativity to help keep your practice fresh & fun. ☺️ 10 minutes of yoga certainly beats no yoga at all. Do the best you can and allow your schedule to reflect flexibility, balance, grace, & love, all attributes we strive to attain through our yoga!💜

💞 Day 10 of the #GetLovedUp Challege is #meditation. For the last 7 days I've been using this free & simple meditation app to help me focus and appreciate my present moment, finding joy in the now instead of hoping for it in future opportunities. I'm enjoying it's ease of use & flexibility in locating meditations that support my intention for the day. There are other features including a paid option but I haven't felt a need to explore it yet. ------------------ 💞Day 11 of the #GetLovedUp Challenge is #totalbody. The aim of Yoga is to balance the mind and body while also moving towards spiritual enlightenment. My daily yoga practice helps to nourish my #totalbody by including movement, pranayama, asanas, relaxation, & meditation. Focusing on the #totalbody gives me the balance needed to tap into my higher self, finding the love within during my human existence on this planet. 💞

Day 9 of #getlovedup challenge is #saladaday ..... 😩ugh I'm a day late with this post. I 💜 fruit salads for my mid morning salad. I often choose fruits high in potassium to lessen the effects of sodium; important for a person with high blood pressure. This #fruitsalad has 1 serving each of mango, oranges slices, strawberries, & banana; a cool 1250mg of sodium. Happy❤️ happy life. 😍

Today’s #GetLovedUp challenge for day 5 is #mileaday. I initially interpreted this from a literal perspective of walking, running, moving at least 1 mile or 30 minutes each day. However, after reading @janalyn.rose post, I realized that I can also apply the challenge to improving my personal yoga practice. Devoting at least 30 min/day will allow me to not only deepen my practice, but also provide me with the foundation to share what I ❤️, health & fitness, with others. Got my #mileaday this morning. Then write a list of what your values are separately & see how they compare. -------- I feel as though my values are interwoven throughout these photos. -----Photo 1 represents not only my ❤️ for my family, but also my ❤️ for traveling----Photo 2 represents the value & unbreakable bond I place on my friendships. ------Photo 3 represents my Carolina roots. Day 3 of the #getlovedup challenge with @koyawebb and @janalyn.rose is #hydration. ------ I downloaded a water reminder app to insure I get 64-72oz. of H2O/day. When it gets boring, I'll infuse my water with lemon slices and frozen fruit. ---- Makes me feel special 😂! ------- If I'm on my🅰game, I'll fill a 64oz pitcher with water. I'll add juice from a freshly squeezed lemon and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Got this recipe from @koyawebb 💞 The cayenne pepper helps to keep the metabolism moving. 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

Day 2 of #getlovedup challenge: Gratitude. Throughout the year, my family will jot down on sticky notes things they are grateful for. The notes are placed in the jar. On New Year’s Eve, we sit around the table and read the notes aloud. It is such a beautiful feeling hearing that some random act you did in the cold of winter made your child or your husband feel grateful. Also, watching your loved ones’ eyes light up when they hear how their kind acts left you feeling grateful lets them know how much they are loved and how much they really mean to you. ——- 💞What are you grateful for, include the good and the bad. Both are gifts that help you learn invaluable lessons towards your life’s purpose. 💞

Getting my Level 1 yoga certification🕉; Celebrating my & my daughter's bday together🎂; successfully going vegan for 30 days🍌🍎🍊; daughter getting accepted into her first choice school🎓. -------2. What made others around me happy? Me taking quality time out of my day to really connect with loved ones. Sharing my yoga practice with family & friends. ------3. What energized me? Working out with my #gymtribe🏋🏾; my church💒. ----------4. What did I struggle with? Finding a balance between the physical, mental, & spiritual parts of me. ---------5. What made living the life I have easier? Having the love & support of my husband & daughter💞; my friends👭; my belief in a higher power. 🙏🏾
