Habe mich letztes Wochenende doch noch aufgerafft den Karpatenhund zu schauen (und mit Glück darf ich nächstes WE nochmal) und ich habe immer noch Gedanken und will sie los weerdeeenn😅

- für mich ist es insgesamt ein guter Film, aber definitiv der beste Fragezeichen-Film bisher

- das acting!! da sind so gute Schauspieler:innen!

- die Streitszene zwischen Charles Niedland und Fenton Prentice war... emotional 🥺 Aber halt auch richtig gut dargestellt finde ich!

- dieser Film ist canonically queer!! Mein Herz 🥹

- von den Fragezeichen hat mir Peter tatsächlich am Besten gefallen, bei Bob hat mir zwischendurch irgendwie die Emotion gefehlt, am Anfang hat er mich mehr an Justus erinnert...?

- apropos Peter, ich liebe es, dass sie eine Szene eingebaut haben, wo er Justus auf dessen (nicht vorhandene) Empathie anspricht

- Skinny fand ich auch stark (wir müssen nicht über die ✨ szene ✨ im Diner und die Tension zwischen ihm und Peter reden, oder? 👀 Da war doch was)

- wo aus meiner Sicht (okay, I did research, nicht nur aus meiner Sicht) definitiv TENSION war, war zwischen Riv... Rive... Riviera ? und Cotta!? I swear, they're fckng.

- Die Darstellung von Cotta hat mich wiederum ein wenig gefu-, ich habe SO viele Gedanken, ich möchte so gerne mit der Person reden, die diese Characterisation gemacht hat?

Diese Version ist cunty af und überhaupt nicht so, wie ich mir Cotta immer ausmale und er war mir am Anfang lowkey zu arrogant, aber er ist trotzdem so ein nicer Character irgendwie, vor allem am Ende? 🥹 Also nicht, dass ich Movie!Cotta für einen miesen Character halte, er hat mein Bild nur hart gecrasht

Ich kriege bei "Detective" Cotta zwar immer noch leichtes Augenzucken, weil es sich so falsch anfühlt, dafür hört sich das "☝️Inspector... Cotta 😌" am Ende umso besser an 💖 (Ich habe einfach einen soft spot für Cotta)

- überhaupt war das Filmende super schön. Mit der Visitenkarte, mit dem MG (Peters! MG!! 🥹!!!), mit der PostCredit-Scene, I'm hyped!!!

- überhaupt die Autos waren so schön, gotta love some rusty old cars

- auch das Setdesign war pretty cool und die ganzen References (hat noch jemand das Teufelsberg-Poster in der Zentrale gespotet??)

- Tante Mathilda war auch sehr cool, ich liebe ihre strong independent Art, auch wenn sie und Titus mir ein wenig zu jung gecastet sind 🙈

Tbf ist es aber auch eine Herausforderung in so einem Fandom alle unter einen Hut zu bekommen und die Älteren wie für die Jüngeren zufrieden zustellen, aber ich glaube das hat der Film am Ende doch geschafft :3

- Was die Auflösung des Falls angeht bin ich zwischendurch bei Justus' Erklärung nicht mehr ganz durchgestiegen, ich weiß aber auch nicht mehr, wie es im Original war, aber vielleicht hätte man das doch etwas vereinfachen können

Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!

For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!

Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all!

Auf Instagram hat der offizielle Fragezeichenaccount nach wilden ???-Theorien gefragt; zwar sind meine Theorien nicht besonders wild, aber ich habe es trotzdem zum Anlass genommen eine Cotta-Theorie zu kommentieren, was ich nun wiederum zum Anlass nehmen werde hier hemmungslos meine Cotta-Headcanons zu posten:

- sein Vorname beginnt ebenfalls mit C (und ist viel allgemeiner und normaler, als irgendwer vermutet)

- Catperson (obviously!!?)

- Er macht sehr starken Kaffee, kriegt es aber gar nicht mehr so mit, weil er sich so dran gewöhnt hat und ist immer ganz verwundert, wenn Gäste ihm sagen, dass sein Kaffee so stark ist

- he's somewhat queer

- Wenn er zuhause ist, zieht er überwiegend kuschelige Hoodies und einfache Pullover an, die Hemden sind ausschließlich für die Arbeit oder Dates/Special Occasions

- er hört überwiegend pre-2000s Musik

- er ist ein Hufflepuff

- er wirkt auf andere sehr viel weniger geheimnisvoll als er das gerne hätte

- er trägt nie schmuck, hat an seinem Schlüsselbund aber einen sehr subtilen Anhänger von Caroline

- er hat nie eine Karte der Fragezeichen weggeworfen. eine liegt immer noch auf seinem Schreibtisch bei den ganzen wichtigen Zetteln

- Gummibärchen > Schokolade

- früher war er immer erreichbar, mittlerweile könnte nur ein Großfeuer auf dem Schrottplatz ihn aus seinem Urlaub nach Rocky Beach holen

This is why the bit of undramatized backstory I’m most burningly curious about is probably Flint & Gates. How did they become genuine friends. (And at a time when Flint - who is a ten-time gold medalist in Not Making Friends - was presumably at his most wounded and walled-off and feral, to boot?) What made Hal so loyal to him. How did Flint also lowkey decide that Hal was his pirate dad. Is Hal even remotely aware that he’s been cast in the role of Flint’s pirate dad. Is Flint even self-aware about casting Hal in the role of his pirate dad, or is this all writhing sea serpents living in the here-be-dragons zone of his traumatized subconscious
