the gimmick blogs are like tumblr’s rogue gallery. yes we’ve got some heroes, yes we’ve got some villains, but more importantly if you look over here you will see some freak who devotes all their time to counting the number of “t’s” in a post

clarincy.clem on Insta (and ClarincyClem on Twitter) has some super cool characters! I love a lot of the designs and this was one of the rare occasions that I picked a pink monochromatic character! I love Jessie and her whole pink vibe she has going on so I had to draw her! This also gave me the opportunity to draw bubbles in the background!

@soturisi designed some amazing characters but Dani has my entire heart! I love her so much and her being based off Lopunny from Pokemon is so creative and makes me love her even more! I had such a wonderful time drawing her and I'm sure I'll be revisiting her character in the future!

lurking_vulpine on Twitter made a really interesting character! I love Ivory and I love her story! A lot of the details in her character design is reflective of her lore and I'm super interested to see more! She's also hosting her boyfriends characters this year which I think is super sweet!!

chromashmellow (on twitter and Insta) has so many intricate and colorful characters! I thought Ink would be a really fun character to draw so I decided to pick her! Part of the decision also was because she has a really cool scythe weapon which I thought would be so fun to draw!

I love @retropiixel 's sona SO MUCH! I was transported back to my childhood when I saw the box T.V and I knew I needed to draw it! There was also so much meme potential with the expressions I could give her on her digital face! I loved it!

@authorracheljoy made it really difficult for me to pick just a single character to draw! She had so many to pick from and they all had such fun and interesting designs that I could work with. I picked Amber because I was really inspired by all the art that Rachel posted on her character profile, and because I saw that Amber's species was a phoenix and I ADORE drawing bird wings! Amber's color palette was so fun to work with and I'm really happy with how this piece turned out!

I did a lot of reading on this character! Clyde by currythederp (on Instagram) is such an interesting character because there's a lot of lore and specific rules that belongs to his species! This was another piece that I painted rather than illustrating in my usual style and I think that it turned out very nicely! I especially enjoyed painting the plants on his shoulder (I'm a sucker for botanicals) because of how fun it was to go though and make them look as twisted as I could! I really hope you enjoy this piece and thank you for designing this wonderful character!

I've never drawn a three headed character before and Celia by @ironduckcosplay was the first. I kinda cheated by making her look to the side and thus only two heads but I'm still counting it! Celia's color palette was so pleasent to work with! I enjoyed playing around with the gradients and using white for her linework instead of my usual darker colors!

IronDuck was so cool and drew my twins!! I love this piece because both Soma and Noor look so happy, and I'm so happy that I'm able to tell them apart based on body type and not just the way they part their hair! I love this piece so thank you so much!

@levymcgarden55 was actually the one to attack me first! Mist drew Soma and actually animated it which is absolutely awesome!! I love how the piece turned out and wanted to gift something in return!

I drew Ursa and Ursa Major! Of course I had to pick the bear character and I thought this character had a really cute design! I love all of the star themes and of course the star freckles on both characters! I painted this piece rather than my usual style to try something different and I absolutely adore how it turned out!!

Steampunk is my vibe and Virginia Coppers by Catilionn on Twitter (Catilionn.art on Instagram) is my type of gal! I'm here for the freckles and inventor vibe she has going on! and the half-elf ears are such a cute element of her design! I'm super interested in her story and the type of world she lives in!

Last year I made some fun little banners to use on stuff, and everyone really seemed to love them! I was really honored by how many people ended up using them. They might look a little different this time around, since i had to redo the animations for them, but I brought them back this year!

Next, I did an animated attack with two characters created by @yakultandy named Franken Kitty and Space Kitty

I thought these two cats would be like best friends and they just happened to live in the same house. I'm not too skilled in frame-by-frame animation (I learned techniques in this year of college) but I'm really happy with how this piece turned out! The colors were nice and pastel and I had a lot of fun working on the piece. The only grievance I've been getting is that the original file size is too big

Andy gave me a piece of art as well that I LOVE! It's also my two cats, Ponyo and Kayio, and she did an amazing job! I love this piece and I think she really captured their personalities in their expressions! That and they're just so darn cute!!

My first attack was a cute creature character called Starbear created by @stryhx

I love bears and this was one of the first characters that I bookmarked so I thought it would be fitting to draw him first! I had a lot of fun with the colors and the hatching because making bears fluffy is one of my favorite things to draw! Starbear can change his size and I love the comment that stryhx left saying he would take this shape to give hugs to his friends.
