SMB Movie Toad: What could’ve been...

CONTEXT: In some early drafts of the film’s script, Toad was originally a chameleon-like humanoid who lived in a quarry near the Koopahari Desert, and only went to Dinohattan for more food/resources. He drove a dune buggy too. They were considering Tom Waits for the role at the time.
