Violet Sorrengail is one of my favourite fantasy FMCs because she is the perfect blend of badass and feminine.

She entertains herself by throwing knives at targets and picturing the faces of her exes, spends every day training to get stronger, poisons her opponents before fighting them, and pulls off complicated manoeuvres on the back of a dragon.

But she also refused to cut her hair before entering the Riders Quadrant simply because she liked the way it looked, effectiveness be damned. She likes wearing dresses and lying in bed with her boyfriend and reading fantasy books. When she’s captured in Iron Flame, she’s rescued by Xaden and lets him carry her out of the prison. She realised she was down bad for him when he gave her flowers.

She’s smart and brave and often violent, but she’s also compassionate and caring and empathetic. Even after everything Cat did to her, she still wanted to forgive her and become friends. It’s what makes her her.

I’m just tired of these FMCs who have an I-don’t-need-a-man, fuck you and your pretty dresses attitude. Sometimes I like to see the main character get rescued by their love interest, IT’S ROMANTIC, OKAY?? But I also don’t want a naive FMC with no basic survival instincts *cough cough* Evangeline Fox, which is why Violet is just such an incredible main character to me.

The Athenide twins play chess, the alternative title is 'Reason and Loyalty plan for marriage' due to the peacock at the back of Perseleia. Ares' eyes are set on Perseleia whilst avoiding Arsinoe's gaze in reference to how war lacks robs men of reason but soldiers stay out of loyalty.

Thinking of Athenide cabin (she does have a cabin at Camp Half Blood right?) Instead of Hermes, it's her cabin that welcomes unclaimed demigods. And now I think of all these unclaimed kids praying so hard to stay unclaimed so they can keep living in her cabin 😂 Luke being so desesperate to be claimed right after passing the gates of the camp and learning after he could have lived in the Athenide cabin 🤣

The "funny" thing is that Apollo is a notably good father to his demigods, but because the other gods are living their deadbeat era when the Athenide, goddess of demigods and now their union representive, came back from the dead she turned down becoming a goddess again and instead ordered them to pay their damn child support.
