Don't allow time to pass without action. If you know you need to say it, say it. If you know you need to do it, do it. The greatest myth we tell ourselves is that we "have time." Make your mind up, make a plan, take action. I think one of the best lessons I learned this year was the art of being wrong. Not just acknowledging that I'm wrong about something, but having a bit of humility when addressing it. Allowing someone to have their say without me interrupting to make a counter point before I've heard what someone else is saying. Having respect for the outcomes even if they aren't favorable to me. Admitting that I'm wrong, telling them why and how I'm wrong, and most of all sitting back and letting fate decide how they feel without me trying to influence the outcome. They will forgive you or they won't. The outcome isn't about me, and the sooner that's learned the better. Also, and most importantly not allowing years to go by for fear of losing face while admitting I was wrong. Holding a grudge over a principle or a stance that I'm willing to move from. That's a cancer on the soul really. It keeps me sour over some nonsense, and it allows great relationships to fester, and wither away when all I needed to do was reach out. Let's not take the past into the future. It's okay to be wrong, but when will you act? Don't think for a second that the English didn't think they would roll us with ease. They've made this mistake in previous meetings. You can tell they thought they would win because of all the excuses they're making now when onnpaper they should have beaten us. One thing team USA has that most people see is a bit of tenacity and resilience about them. We're a counter punching team which we didn't pull off tonight, but we can also take the punches as well. We soaked up the pressure from some of the games best attackers and managed them. We didn't give up any soft penalties like the game against Wales which we should have won! I think on this Veterans Day I want ro thank the people that wrote letters. Sent care packages. They sent the news papers from Home that were so valuable even if they were a week or two old. The people that really made the difference in that experience. Especially the people I never met that set care packages and letters to me as a complete stranger. I can't say enough how grateful I was. It's amazing how fast time passes. You blink and and November 2005 is a bit of a distant memory. Dude, guess who's band from Twitter and Instagram 😅 It's weird, for someone so famous and these days infamous. Someone with so much talent and so much to offer the world. He shows year after year, after year how desperately he needs attention. Positive or Negative, he just needs it. There's a weird nostalgia about being in a "big box" retail space. On the one hand it feels a but too familiar in not so fun ways, on the other hand it's like being in a Blockbuster Video lol. You can't believe it still exists and that people are here, but it's such a artificial experience. It just feels like 60,000 square feet of warehouse space used to house a bunch of stuff sitting on blue carpet. The war ended, we came Home, and the real battle started. You see it, you feel it, you think you understand it, bur you never appreciate it. You blink and the loss is palpable. You remember every disagreement that ended in compromise. You remember watching someone grow up in front of you. The soldier they arrive as, versus the soldier they become. The mischievous grins, and the moments of clarity no one ever sees. If your struggling reach out, and please check on the people you care about if you hadn't heard from them in a whole. The silence always makes me nervous because this world just takes and takes. When they have so much to offer the world, it simply takes. The Buddhism tells me that all things happen as they ought, and sometimes that's just not fucking good enough. The full lives I can manage, the shortened and abrupt I always struggle with. The laughs. The debates, the handshake and agreement to agree to disagree. Everything comes full circle. Life is so very precious, were here and we have a few laughs, and it stops. The real measure of one's life is their impact in the world around them. The sunshine and beauty we deliver to others, how we conduct ourselves in the hard times. It's not just that someone is missing as of yesterday, it's everything they offered that no one saw, but brought so much joy to those who received it. Bye Buddy, thanks for everything. I don't mourn the past, I mourn the time that was cut short, and how much more could have been given to this world. Now we laugh and trade stories in quiet. Full circle.
