Originally I intended to draw Kaito but dang, as I neared the end he had too much of a typical Matsu-chan gangster vibe that I couldn’t help changing my plans midway~ 

And they turned out absolutely adorable!

My orignal plans included crawling too but this one ended up just as fine as the one I planned even if, with less characters. I wasnt’ sure I’d finish 3 other character by the deadline anyway~~

DCMKEmoti - Poisonous Secrets

Inspired by the dialog “The truth will come to light. With or without your input” and a picture too, but the picture will be shown in the story because it will be a spoiler. Thanks for the prompts @dcmkemoti​

She first saw him when she was on a college trip, sitting on the table across hers in the restaurant, holding a cup of coffee and working on his laptop. She didn’t know what it was, but something about him attracted her and she couldn’t help but keep glancing at him. At some point he caught her staring at his blue eyes and beautiful smooth dark skin, and smirked. Clearly his ego was stroked, but Kazuha’s was crushed.

“Oh my god, oh my god.” Kazuha whispered as she looked away embarrassed. Her cheeks became incredibly red. She wanted to hide under the table so bad.

“What? What happened?” Kazuha’s friend and classmate Mikiko asked her.

“The hot guy caught me staring at him!” Kazuha answered and tried to lower her body to hide.

This is supposed to be for @dcmkemoti and the prompt is "Do you ever just feel empty. Like the world just drains everything out of you?"

And...

I didn't expect for this to have 4000+ words

Oh well, hope you enjoy because this is my first fic that has more than 2000 words T^T

Btw, it's really slow because Kaito just dense hohoho and Shinichi too.

It was the first day school for Shinichi after he had his body back. He was glad when Ran was still treating him like she always did despite their broke up. He also glad when Sonoko didn't glare daggers at him.

.

He had told Ran the truth. He also told Sonoko as she was his besties too, though he knew he didn't need to say it.

Both of the girls had been angry at first but they decided to forgive as they knew that Shinichi had suffered so much. After some talk, Ran and Shinichi decided to broke up. Sonoko didn't like their decision but she agreed once they told both of them somehow, had a new person that they wanted to share their life together.

"It is Kaitou Kid, isn't it?"

He had blushed furiously when Sonoko said it. Ran had rolled his eyes and said he had been obvious. All those notes and heists. Ran had said how excited he had been when he was solving them and chasing KID. Sonoko just nodded and grinned.

"But is it okay?"

Shinichi whispered and that dropped both Ran's and Sonoko's amusement. They stared at Shinichi feeling confused.

"He's a boy."

They blinked and laughed at Shinichi. He couldn't helped but startled.

"Of course it is."

"Yeah, Shinichi. Me too. I like Sera and all of us know she's a girl, right?"

Long to short, Shinichi was glad he had them in his life.

He was suprised when he saw someone was waiting for him at school gate.

"Kuroba Kaito, nice to meet you!"

Ran and Sonoko blinked together and stared at the strangers who was holding three yellow roses while Shinichi's eyes widened.

"I've been waiting for you, Shinichi."

K-KID! What's he doing here???

Sonoko and Ran laughed when Shinichi's face became red. By that, they knew who the stranger was. They took the roses and Sonoko looked at Ran. Both of them suddenly apologised and left those two young men. Shinichi cursed them in his heart and looked back at the magician. The magician was wearing a bright smile and he hummed at Shinichi. Shinichi could felt his heart beating fast.

"T-thank you, Kuroba-kun."

He said it while twirled the yellow rose. Suddenly, Kaito grabbed his wrist and dragged Shinichi.

"Kaito is fine."

Shinichi could felt his heart was almost going out from his chest as the magician grinned at him.

They stopped at the nearest cafe.

"Why did you show yourself?"

"Because I've been waiting for this day to be friend with you. "

Shinichi just scoffed and ignored how his heart sank at the word 'friend'.

"Aren't you scared? I can just report you?"

"From the way you heard my name just now, I assume you've known my real name longer. But you haven't done anything yet, have you?"

Shinichi sighed because it was the truth. He had known the other's identity when he was still Conan but didn't do anything to it. He thought he would finally moved on when he did it. Afterall, he was a guy and KID liked girls. The way KID always flirted with girls proved it but his plan of move on was just ruined by this moment.

Shinichi really wanted to wipe off the smirk Kaito was wearing right now.

"Shut up."

He just listened to the sudden bright laugh while his face became red again and forgot to answer the magician's question.

Aoko had wanted to meet Kaito's new friend. Kaito recently had been busy with the new friends, so she asked him to bring her too.

And that's the reason Shinichi, Kaito and Aoko were here in the cafe together.

"Aoko, this is Kudou Shinichi. Shinichi, this is Nakamori Ahoko."

Shinichi chuckled when Aoko hit Kaito's head.

"I've heard about you a lot."

"I bet all of them are bad."

"Of course they are, Ahoko."

He watched the two argued with amusement and feeling hurt a little. He couldn't helped and thought that they looked good together.

"Both of you look good together."

They stopped and stared at Shinichi. Shinichi blinked and blushed when he realised what had he said.

"S-sorry."

"N-no. It's alright."

"Me with Ahoko. No way!"

Shinichi watched how Aoko blushed furiously while Kaito looked at the side, trying his best to keep himself from blushing. Shinichi watched how both of them looked back at each other and how they smiled together like Shinichi wasn't there at all.

By that he knew, they loved each other.

"He looks happier."

Aoko said once Kaito left his sit to go to the bathroom. She laughed when she saw Shinichi's confused face.

"He always use his poker face to hide everything you know. Especially after his dad died. He died when Kaito was still eight. He always wears that and acts like everything is fine since then. I sometimes worry about him. But... For some reason, he seems happier recently."

Shinichi startled when Aoko looked at him with a soft eyes.

"So, thank you, Kudou-kun."

Shinichi shook his head and smiled.

"Don't need to thank me, Nakamori-chan. Besides, It's not me. He's the one who decides to be happier."

Aoko chuckled and this time, she was the one who shook her head.

"I still think you're the one though."

Shinichi felt his face became hotter.

.

Since then, both their friends would follow Shinichi and Kaito to their daily meeting sometimes. There was no way Ran and Sonoko would not trying to know the man who stole Shinichi's heart.

.

For some reason, Kaito wanted to sleep at Shinichi's house. He had said to Shinichi when they were having their daily meeting. Shinichi couldn't helped but feeling excited.

.

"I wanna sleep with you."

Shinichi was eating dinner with Kaito and choked at the statement.

"S-sorry?"

Kaito huffed.

"I want to sleep with you. On your bed. Together."

Shinichi just blinked and felt his cheek heating up.

"Eh? Why?"

Kaito just shrugged. He also didn't even know why but he did know that he wanted to sleep with Shinichi.

So, here Shinichi was feeling tense on his bed while Kaito tried to sleep. Their back was facing each other.

"Hey. Are you awake?"

Shinichi just hummed. He could felt his heart beating so fast.

"I've been meaning to ask this so.. Why haven't you turn me in yet? I mean, I'm still KID. "

That's right. The magician was still active as KID despite he had captured an organisation that almost similar to Shinichi's. Despite the magician had one gem that he hadn't returned yet.

By that Shinichi knew that Kaito had found the gem that he had been searching for.

"You know that I've known your identity, right?"

Kaito hummed.

"To tell the truth, I've known it since I was still Conan. I've known your reason and the organisation but I was busy with my other organisation so I'm sorry."

Kaito startled when the other apologised.

"It's okay. It's not your fault."

"It is. I should helped you or tried to help you like you did to me."

Kaito commented nothing.

"That didn't answer my question though."

"Because I know you're a kind person, Kaito."

Shinichi glanced at Kaito and turned to hug Kaito from back because his back seems small. Kaito seems tense and shaking when Shinichi hugged him. Shinichi didn't like it but he didn't mind seeing the other like this too. Seeing Kaito without his poker face. Seeing Kaito without any wall. Seeing Kaito letting himself leaned to someone. He was happy that Kaito trusted him.

Kaito cried slowly while felt the warm body behind him. He wonder why it was always easier to put off his poker face in front of Shinichi.

"Say, Meitantei."

He croaked out and Shinichi just hummed while hugging the other closer to his face.

"Do you ever just feel empty. Like the world just drains everything out of you?"

Shinichi just tightened his hold and let out a laugh. Kaito then glanced at his shoulder to see Shinichi but failed. Shinichi was afterall pressed his face right behind Kaito's back.

"Of course I do."

He sounded so sad and for some reason Kaito hated it. He wanted to turn his body to face the detective but Shinichi shook his head.

"But it's okay now. Afterall, I have everything right now."

Except you.

Shinichi's mind whispered. He ignored the painful whisper and smile.

Kaito could saw the smile on the detective despite he couldn't see it. For some reason, he could breathed better than before after that night. He had talked about this to his mom, Jii and Aoko but talking to Shinichi was different. It felt like Shinichi understood him so much and he couldn't helped and felt the warth in every words Shinichi had said.

And yet he was confused.

He was confused of his beating heart that would be fast sometimes when he felt the warmth that always Shinichi gave him.

Today Aoko, Ran and Sonoko had joined their meeting. All of them could see how Kaito looked at Aoko, including Shinichi. His look had been so fond and Shinichi had a hard time to maintain his ache heart.

He didn't see how Kaito looked at him with fonder looks though.

"You really love her, don't you?

Shinichi stopped his step and Kaito looked at him. Kaito blinked and grinned with a blushing face.

"Of course I do."

Shinichi could heard his heart broke for a while. It was funny how he felt that even though he knew Kaito had someone already in his heart for two months already.

"She was the first friend I made. She is always there for me, when my father died, when my mother started to travel out of the country, when I need someone the most. She's always there, you know? Despite knowing I'm KID, the KID who always takes his father time, she's still stay at my side. That's why I love her so much."

Kaito confessed while walking slowly. Didn't want to make the other worry, Shinichi tried his best to walk at Kaito's side.

"Figure that."

Shinichi chuckled and smiled. Kaito glanced at Shinichi and was surprised how sad the smile was. He wanted to ask Shinichi what was wrong but couldn't.

"Then, why don't you confess already?"

"Huh?"

Kaito started to wonder why the detective looked so much in pain.

"Go confess to her. I'm sure she likes you too. You don't want to make her wait like I did with Ran, right?"

Shinichi closed his eyes and walked away. Kaito was the one who stopped his step this time and stared at Shinichi's back.

"Or else it will be too late."

Kaito caught Shinichi's wrist. Shinichi turned and was met with Kaito's determined face.

"I will."

Seeing Shinichi this sad, Kaito hated it.

"Good."

Shinichi said unconsciously. He was slightly red, feeling the other's touch around his wrist. Once he realised what Kaito had said, Shinichi blinked and  laughed because Kaito must thought he was sad because of his relationship with Ran.

Kaito just heard Shinichi's sudden laugh with his heart beating fast.

Aoko entered Kaito's house using the key that Kaito had given him. She entered and shouted Kaito's name.

Kaito groaned and slowly woke up. He took a bath and straight to downstairs. He watched how Aoko cooked for him and smiled, feeling thankful for her like he did every single day.

Aoko watched Kaito carefully when he watched her with such a soft smile. She then saw how the smile turned softer when Kaito opened his phone and she chuckled at her best friend's attics.

KUDOU SHINICHI

Have you confess to her yesterday?

It's been days since I told you not to make her wait for too long, right?

KUROBA KAITO

Sheeshh stop it, Meitantei ¬////¬

I need to prepare myself before ask her out.

Afterall we've been friends since we were children.

KUDOU SHINICHI

Pft

Yeah sure, Kaito.

Goodluck anyway.

Deep down, Kaito knew he didn't want to confess yet. He didn't know what was the reason though.

"You love Kudou-kun, don't you?"

Kaito felt deja vu. He looked up and met Aoko with a grin on her face while carrying their breakfast.

She put them on the table and sat across him like usual.

"Eh! Of course not. Why did you ask that?"

Kaito huffed and felt annoyed when Aoko laughed at him.

"You're blushing."

"Well. You just asked something embarassing."

"You sure about that?"

"Of course! Because I love someone else other than him."

Aoko blinked and her teasing smile softened.

"Who?"

Kaito inverted his eyes and swallowed his food.

"It's you."

His face probably red as tomato right now.

"Do you really love me?"

He snapped and stood up.

"Of course I--!"

He stopped and Aoko's soft smile didn't change.

"Say it."

Kaito silenced and slumped back on his sit. He started to eat his food again while staring at the said food with a confused feeling.

"Why?"

Aoko laughed. She knew Kaito had loved her. She also had loved him. But, after Kudou Shinichi had been back from the big case, Kaito had been talking about how much he wanted to meet him. So, She wasn't surprised when Kaito had gone to the detective's school. It was funny because which thief would went to a detective. The more time went by, Kaito became more excited to meet the detective. He had told her that he had slept with Shinichi for unknown reason. She had seen his expressions turned softer everytime he looked at the detective. Since then, she started to move on from Kaito, knowing she didn't have a chance.

It was funny how Shinichi didn't caught the sign yet and how Kaito didn't know his true feelings. They just so dense and stupid and perfect for each other.

"Because the one you're truly in love is Kudou-kun, Kaito."

"But that's impossible."

"Well. That's what love is."

Kaito just continued eating his food while his thoughts went wild.

"Ah I need to go now. Goodbye, Kaito."

But Kaito stopped her.

"I keep thinking about just now but I still don't understand why did you say I'm in love with Shinichi and not you."

Aoko blinked and sighed. She hoped she had her mop so she could hit him.

WHY IS HE SOOO DENSE!

"Your smile always goes softer when you're texting him or when you're talking to him or talking about him generally. There's also time when you're staring at him with a weird and creepy smile too."

"Hey, I didn't stare--! ."

Aoko ignore him and continued.

"Then, you're always excited to see him. You even wanted to sleep with him at the same bed."

"But that's because--!"

Aoko put both her hands at her waist.

"Because you don't know what was the reason and let me tell you. The reason is because you love him, Kaito."

Kaito just stared at Aoko with his mouth shut. Aoko huffed and walked pass him to reach the door.

"If you're still confused, let me tell you one thing."

Kaito turned and surprised how serious Aoko looked to him right now.

"If your heart is beating fast whenever you're with him or when you feel the want to see the smile on Kudou-kun's face whenever he's sad or when your breath is like being taken away when you're looking Kudou-kun's eyes, THOSE are the proves that you love him."

Aoko smirked when Kaito's face became red suddenly.

He probably have felt those.

"Now we've finally made you realise that you're in love with Kudou-kun, I hope you don't mind if I excuse myself. I have a date with Hakuba-kun. Goodbye, Kaito!"

Kaito just stared at the closed door and he realised something.

"WAIT! SHE'S DATING THAT HAKUBASTARD!"

He slumped down against the wall and covered his face using both his hands. He could felt how hot his face was and how tight to breath.

GODDDD I'M SOOO STUPID.

When he felt his phone vibrated inside his pocket, he pulled it out.

NAKAMORI AOKO

I forgot to say this but I think

he's also in love with you.

"Say, Shinichi."

Shinichi hummed. They were walking at the park after Kaito had picked Shinichi up from school.

Since their first meeting, one of them would wait for the other in front of their school. When both of them were busy, they would meet at poirot or blue parrot.

"Do you love someone?"

Kaito didn't know why he had the urged to ask that. The only thing he knew was that he wanted to know the person who had the detective's heart.

"I mean you keep saying how I need to confess to Aoko about my feelings. So, how about you? Do you have anyone you love? Anyone who you want to confess to?"

Shinichi turned at Kaito and turned back at the sky. He smiled.

"I do."

The answer sounded so hurt and that made Kaito glanced at Shinichi. To his surprise, Shinichi was smiling softly while looking at the sky.

"But they love someone else I guess."

The smile was still soft but Kaito hated that. Hated how sad and hurt the detective looked in his eyes.

Kaito stopped his step and gripped Shinichi's wrist to pull him for a hug. Shinichi forgot his sadness and blushed furiously.

"I don't know who do you love but you can't just give up, you know. I'm sure they love you too. Afterall, you're the great detective, the great detective from the east."

Shinichi just nodded, hiding his face against the other's chest. For god sake, they were at the park!

HE WAS TALKING ABOUT ME!

So that's why he was sad when he

told me to confess to you.

That's why he said that person he loves has someone else.

NAKAMORI AOKO

Don't tell me you said that you

love me to him?

KUROBA KAITO

Unfortunately, I did.

Kaito sighed and wished he could went back to his past self. How could he not see all these signs. When he received the next message, he blinked.

NAKAMORI AOKO

So what are you going to do now?

Well that's a good questions.

Kaito grinned.

A heist of course!

After knowing KID's identity, Shinichi would still went to his heist. The only different was he didn't chased after him anymore. They would met at one place and would talk. Just talk and talk.

Sometimes, Shinichi's deductions would be right and sometimes would be wrong. Kaito would pouted, which was cute whenever Shinichi deduced his trick or he would grinned when Shinichi couldn't deduced it.

Most of all, they laughed a lot and Shinichi really treasured those moments.

Whenever he was with Kaito, he couldn't helped his beating heart. Sometimes he would blush and Kaito would be worried if Shinichi caught some cold.

He sometimes wonder when would he move on from this stupid thief despite knowing Kaito had always loved Aoko.

For some reason, Shinichi felt today's heist was for him. Well most of the times, Kaito had said that heist was for him, this was for him.

But today just different.

When Kaito had been standing in front of the crowd, he would glanced at Shinichi. He would sometimes winked at Shinichi. He also had stood in front of him, kneeled in front of him and placed the gem he had stolen on Shinichi's palm. Not to ignore how he had kissed Shinichi's hand.

Shinichi was frozen for a good 10 minutes to analyse what just happened to him and blushed bright red. He then checked his phone when it vibrated.

KUROBA KAITO

I'll wait for you at our first meeting place as KID and Conan.

Shinichi blinked at the text and blushed again.

What the hell is wrong with him today???

He walked to Haido City Hotel with his heart felt like would pop out from his chest.

Kaito was waiting for Shinichi at the rooftop of Haido's City Hotel. He was staring at the moon, thinking how he should confessed to the detective. He took a deep breath and turned when the door behind him was opened.

"Kaito."

Shinichi called out and the way Kaito was staring at him with his indigo eyes made him wanted to run away. But he stopped himself.

He knew Kaito wanted to tell something important right now and that didn't calm down his heartbeat.

"What's the matter?"

He walked slowly to Kaito and once he was at Kaito's reached, Kaito took both his hands. He hold them and Shinichi just watched Kaito who was staring at his hands.

"I confessed to Aoko."

Shinichi's breath hitched but for some reason the words didn't broke his heart.

"She rejected me "

Shinichi's eyes widened while watched Kaito who was still looking at their both hands.

"And she made me realised something."

Kaito squeezed Shinichi's hands gently when he felt the other's hands shook and Kaito finally looked up to meet the azure eyes that he didn't realise how much he loved it until now.

"That I was wrong."

Kaito's eyes were so soft and Shinichi couldn't handled his blush anymore.

"The one I'm in love with... Is you, Shinichi."

Shinichi suddenly felt his eyes watery and he closed his eyes. He felt so embarrassed and stupid for being this emotional. Kaito just smiled at the sight.

"I love you. I love you, Shinichi."

Slowly, Shinichi opened his eyes and Kaito couldn't breather for a moment when Shinichi smiled widely at him.

"Me too. I love you too, Kaito."

Both of them felt butterflies in their stomach while staring at each other. Kaito slowly let his eyes stare at Shinichi's lips and he gulped.

"May I kiss you?"

Shinichi blushed redder when Kaito asked that with a straight face but deep down he knew, Kaito was nervous face. He looked down to see how Kaito was still holding both his hands and looked up again to see his boyfriend's face.

Boyfriend....

He suddenly giggled and Kaito frowned.

"You don't want?"

"No it's just... I thought it's impossible to have you returned this feeling of mine and to think you're... My boyfriend right now?"

He inverted his eyes with a soft smile on his face and Kaito blinked at Shinichi's question. He then decided to let go Shinichi's hands and put one at Shinichi's waist and another to tilt Shinichi's chin and kissed him.

Shinichi's eyes went wide again and slowly he leaned to the kiss. Kaito watched Shinichi's eyes slowly closing themselves. He could felt Shinichi's hands clenching his hoodie while he made the kiss deeper.

"Of course I'm Shinichi."

He whispered right at Shinichi's right ear and that made Shinichi shivered right after they pulled out from the kiss.
