Every time I cosplay Ryuk, I try to make some little improvement. This time, I finally made some clay skull decorations for the book holder and belt buckle!

I cannot believe I didn't post this one here! Drawn last year, the biggest page of my fish anatomy and histology atlas.

Technically, transverse sections are more useful for looking at symmetry, so you can see if something is bilateral, but sagittal sections are just so cute! I love seeing a whole fish on a slide.

The first big chunk of a huge embroidery project I'm working on. Done on a double layer of tulle, maintaining the transparent background and working with fragile fabric have been fun challenges. Designs based on my family's Persian rugs. 🧿

Golb patch!

This was a commission for the cashier at my corner Walgreens. He asked about the patches on one of my jackets and got my Instagram. This is now on the back of his jacket, which is full of other patches and pins. Cool dude with good taste!

Finally got my Rod of Asclepius shark jaw tattoo! I can't wait to graduate in May! At long last, I'll be a real fish doctor.

Procrastinating work by adding more items to my Picrew!

I finished the saltwater fish tails, so it's just freshwater to go, and then I can work on accessories and weapons. Plus tentacle bangs and hair! I didn't want to find an octopus for every tail color I have, and you get more tentacles with hair anyway.

Saltwater fish options are squirrelfish, clownfish, regal angelfish, green mandarin goby, indigo hamlet, purple anthias, lionfish, coelacanth, and the white option pictured on the right. Anyone wanna guess who she is? 🤭

Made more progress in the past 3 days than probably any other concentrated period in the past year cause I'm so motivated at the moment.

Short and tall typical fantasy tails have been added. Also sharks! Shark tail options will be blue, great white, tiger, leopard, zebra, sandbar, whale, blacktip reef, and oceanic whitetip!

Reef fish and freshwater fish will be the other two categories. Maybe also octopuses or other oddballs if I'm feeling fancy?

My philosophy is to make the dress up game I want to see in the world, so I am going for as many color options as I can handle (it is a little tedious) and lots of variety, such as some extra fishy characteristics.

Next step is tails! I have a few generic options, but I want to do some inspired by real fish. Only going to be the hip area, but still!

I hit a sad artist milestone today: getting my shit stolen by Amazon.

I saw a 1st year student with a sticker of this design on her clipboard. Last year, I designed an updated version of this for our Aquatics Club's sticker sale. So, I was surprised first that it was such a small sticker and then realized it was the old version. Figuring she'd bought it from my RedBubble, I asked her about it.

Got it from Amazon, she said. I asked if she was sure this sticker specifically came from Amazon, and she said yes, it was part of one of those giant multipacks. I searched Amazon for vet med sticker packs, and I didn't see it in the images for the ones that came up in the first few pages, but it's also hard to tell if every sticker in the pack is shown in those previews.

It's frustrating. More popular artists can surely relate. This is my first time, and it's disheartening. I don't even make anything from my art, so even the pennies someone else is making off of that pack of stolen stickers is just so annoying and insulting.

I painted a tank stand! The Aquatics Club at my vet school, a chapter of WAVMA, moved our freshwater tank to a new location with a new stand, and I gave it a makeover. The panels have close-ups of different aquatic animals, featuring cycloid scales (common in teleost fish), harbor seal fur, blue crab shell, giant pacific octopus tentacle, green sea turtle shell, and placoid scales (seen in elasmobranchs). Each half has a fish, an air-breather, and an invertebrate. Great way to spend a little free time while on clinics!

Embroidery I did for my buddy, the fourth in the series of Godzilla kaiju patches! Like Anguirus and Kong, she's a mashup, combining Mothra with the features of a Death's-Head Hawkmoth.

Redesign of a tattoo I designed for myself 3.5 years ago! The first draft was done in 2020 after being accepted to veterinary school. Now I have less than a year left until I'm a whole doctor! Time flies, and seeing my improvement over that time was pretty nice too!
