Wood working is an incredible form of art. Hand carving on the heel of a banjo is a tradition we are proud to carry on in-house at Deering. This is a recently completed Clawgrass walnut neck before the finish to seal the wood is applied.

John Mlynczak the President/CEO of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) had the pleasure of visit Deering Banjos, long time members of NAMM this week. He came prepared to pick a few notes on the five-string! They got to have a good catch up about all NAMM does to benefit the many varied companies who work and support the musical instruments and gear all over the world. They fund research on the benefits of arts education, lobby policymakers, give valuable education on the vastly changing regulations affecting business, and fund music related charitable activities. If you are not a NAMM member it is a good time to become one.
