I feel like I had a thought like this, but like on the other end of the spectrum hahaaaaaaaaaaa sorry
Idk if being diagnosed late was part of it or not, but I thought the puzzle piece was really cute for a symbol! I was like “hell yeah, I love puzzles!” I genuinely assumed it was just an adorable thing to like have something to symbolize awareness/acceptance with.
The whole thing with nothing about us without us made SO MUCH sense to me when I learned what this symbol was supposed to mean!
I still wanna reclaim it and make it a cute thing again but that’s my personal preference lol
ngl I thought the puzzle piece as an autistic symbol meant like. I am a vital puzzle piece to your society. humans would never have invented half the things they did without us. you're telling me it means I'm missing something?? buddy. listen. listen to me reeeeaal closely. no human has all the pieces to humanity. no one. no one has all the features enables no one has all the strengths weaknesses or quirks. no one has a whole puzzle. we make the freaking complete picture together. that's the freaking point.

Accommodation I should have: someone to follow me around and whisper in my ear, medieval court advisor style, how to correctly respond when presented with different social situations
"My liege, that was a rhetorical question you just heard. Do not answer it."

love when certain autistic spaces are full of posts about how autistic women are just fundamentally different from autistic men and stuff like hypercorrectness, infodumping, "weird" special interests, bluntness, aggressive meltdowns, low empathy, etc. is all male autism stuff and actually female autists are never like that no us autistic women are all experts at masking in fact we're so good at masking that nobody can tell we're austistic and we all come off as just cute and quirky and overly nice and friendly!! (especially when the post is clearly framing the "male autism" stuff as "cringe" and "gross" and "weird"). and when i say "love" i mean i hate it with a burning fiery passion.
autism is underdiagnosed in women. the medical system has a bias against women. all of this is true. but there is no such thing as "male autism" and "female autism." any autistic trait can present in any gender. autistic women are just people, and like any group of people, we come in all different personality types. same goes for autistic people of any gender. also, bullying autistic people for being autistic doesn't magically become Not Ableist just because the target is a man.

So I’m from the US and I think something else changed with the trends here, leadership. The ones who are pretending the most like “it’s done now you had your time,” are the political leaders around the country. Like, you can still see small scale feminism, but the main country leaders like regressed the country in terms of like civil rights(is that the right term for it?) issues.
What I mean is: I believe no small part of this problem is that some of the political leadership who were actually participating and/or lending their power to feminism got kicked out and are fighting to get back into those positions.
can we just have, like, any feminist movement whatsoever. did everyone just stop caring?

There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.
This is because everything in my life requires work:
maintaining friendships
keeping up with my hygiene
managing bills
making money
remembering my basic needs
sleeping regularly
outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.

i cant get over the king charles portrait. they made that thing to age in his place. that painting hangs in the house of a too-friendly family you find in the post apocalyptic wasteland who inexplicably has a ready supply of fresh meat. if mario jumped into that painting he wouldn't find a charming platformer he would be flayed and hanged like a medieval criminal by an unseeable force in a droning red void. that painting is a color blindness test for people who work in IT but believe in the divine right of kings. that painting is going to weep the sequel to blood. after he dies charles is gonna crawl outta that thing like sadako.

what “feeling better” can look like after using a coping technique:
beng able to get up and walk around safely
thinking/talking more clearly and lessening of brain fog
a willingness to re-engage with a situation/emotion (even with some reluctance)
ability to do a task you did not want to/could not do before
being able to plan and problem solve (even if you still don’t know what to do)
improved concentration/focus
more understanding of a situation
calmer and slower thoughts (rather than scattered thoughts/rumination)
slower heartbeat and breathing
faster heartbeat, if doing exercise, and momentum that gives you a chance to do a task before you sit down again
being able to sleep easier
an ability to look at the big picture and not get lost in the details
feeling that you can “manage”
ability to control outbursts/destructive behaviour or pause before acting
managing to stop crying
I think people tend to assume their mood is what will improve after trying coping techniques, however, your mood is not the full extent of your mental health, and it doesn’t totally define whether or not a technique has helped you. When disorders cause symptoms like chronic emptiness and low mood, it’s worthwhile to pay attention to your body and your abilities to look for signs of improvement, which can then have an affect on your mood in the long term.

The reason vaginal atrophy in HRT is rarely discussed isn't because some nefarious boogeyman wants to transgenderficate all your pretty lesbian crushes into chronic pelvic pain it's because people don't give a shit about transmasculine reproductive health and you hijacking the topic for your detransition propaganda will only make things worse as you discourage transmascs from researching the subject and learning that it's treatable
"You'll live with chronic pain for the rest of your life is it worth it" casual ableism aside you're saying that as if vaginal atrophy doesn't happen to half of all postmenopausal people, what makes you think you're immune
