Sylus is a political protégé to the long standing Chancellor of Bressek, Adder Caito. Acting as both father and mentor, Adder taught Sylus from a young age that he would one day inherit the position.

Though his birthright has granted esteemed political teachings, the role of Chancellor is not the only thing Sylus inherited from his father.

A dark talent curses the Caito bloodline, and though the curse’s origins are unclear to Sylus, the blood of the Old God that lives beneath his skin acts as a constant reminder of an ancient pact.

Following Sylus’s recognition into the council and the sudden death of Chancellor Adder, Sylus is forced to manage the curse alone and face responsibilities that befalls a Caito heir.
