It’s fun to fantasize about a tomorrow not so far from here…

I am sitting in in a field. All around me I hear birds chirping near and leaves rustling far and even a faint hum of the city vibrations if I listened close enough. The sun is on my face, but not too much - my face is partly covered by the shade of the tree above me. The back of my knees are sweaty so I tuck my sundress behind them as I extend my legs deeper into the grass below. I close my eyes and inhale the air and it’s as if I just stuffed my face into a bushel of flowers and I am filled with love and gratitude and I am home.

I am a lone wolf and old soul living on the coast of New England and in eight weeks I’ll be driving across the country to live in California. I’d like to tell you I have a huge passion and a burning spirit - which I do - but I have a habit of letting that flame go out. No matter what I do, where I go, or what phase of my life I am in - this reoccurring cycle follows me: it goes from progress, positivity, and happiness to isolation, dissatisfaction, and stagnation.
