Project 3: Final Photos
These are my two final submissions for project 3. Like I’ve stated before in the earlier post these two images are based off of Sevdaliza’s instagram posts and music video. I wanted to have that same singular focal point adn subject for the studio image (the image with white), just like her instagram posts. For the last image which is the context photo I wanted to use her music video with the image of the water/pool to show different forms and levels like moving texture like her music videos. With having the hyper realistic imagery within her music videos I feel my 3D printed form looks as if its a CGI or fake rendered object within the realistic background which represents Sevdaliza’s aesthetic in my opinion for this project; which is the context and theme I was trying to design for.

Project 3: Final print reflections/ Intention for photos
The first 3 images are from Sevdaliza’s instagram. These 3 images are my references for mu intention for the liquid going inside my form and the aesthetic I’m trying to relate to contextually and intention wise for my outcome. The way the liquid flows over her face is what I want for my form to have in order to have that messy look but relationship that links to her work, and the way the transparent face has strong form/shape is how my print came out and realtes to her work which is what I wanted and am glad it came out this way. Also how the silver form into the skin and they merge is a great idea I want to convey within my final photos. The two images of the female in white and then in the red material is Sevdaliza herself and her from her instagram.
PHOTO ONE: STUDIO
These are the two images I want to use for my referencing for studio shot for the final water container photo for the hand in. The way the white contrasts with the focal point and main subject and then contrasts with the background is what I intend to do in order to have my project come out more in great detail and look more as the focal point
PHOTO TWO: CONTEXT
The last 3 landscape images are from Sevdaliza’s music video “The other girl”. I want these to be my referencing for my context photos because they have her exact aesthetic, this is also the music video I used to reference me making the form for my final outcome, the reason I am using black liquid as well. The way the water reflects and has the person in the middle interests me. The way the gold is also used as contrast with the white also works with . my reasoning for choosing the hinge as well since this was another link I wanted to make design wise to Sevdaliza. The image of her face up close that is a 3D rendered object is also the shape reference, nose angle and overall face shape I wanted to create to relate. This is why I want to make my context photo like this because it’ll be able to relate to many different levels of my context and have design meaning behind my final intention

Project 3: Final making of model
These are the images that document my making of the final form physically. I printed the head upper half, lower half and the lid middle piece which holds the lid up, for a total of 12 hours altogether. I had to take all the support out of the heads hollowed out insides as well as having to take off and sand all the support to make them even. I also had to take the support off of my logo/brand at the back which is the words ESSENCE. I then glued on the middle lid holder piece that was also sanded down after the support was removed. I also then glued the lid piece holder onto the lower half. After this I then glued the lid onto it as well. I then went and bought a hinge which i was originally use a silver two holed one but instead decided with gold since it matches with the aesthetic and has great contrast with the prints form/adds more detail. I didnt drill into my print for the hinge since I didnt want to crack my print I did however cut off the ends of the screws and glue them on as well as the actual hinge because I wanted to look as if it was really screwed into my project.

Project 3: Making black liquid
Here is the materials I made to make the liquid. I used black food dye, dish soap, corn starch and pva glue. I mixed these into the container to make the water, gloopy and semi-thick black liquid I wanted to use. I think it works well for my desired intention of having the black liquid act as Sevdaliza’s essence and her ideologies of self love, masculinity, feminity and oneself.

Project 3: Final STL. files + Logo design
This is my final design for this project. These are the files I’ll be using ti 3D print except my actual lid which has already been printed by the connex printer. The files which will be printed are the upper half of the head, the lower half of the head and the lid “holder” where the lid will be placed upon and the black liquid will be beneath. I’ll also possibly be adding a hinge at the back of the head so the lid can lift up and down. I also placed the logo/brand ESSENCE along the back of the head in order to have that branding/design appeal required for the project.

Project 3: Final Form Fusion 3d creation
Here is my fusion created Stl. file for 3D printing before I create my final physical model. I originally started with a sphere in the create a form mode within fusion360, I then moulded the sphere into having features with the edit form tool. I then created a good base outline of the shape and then made a smooth version and a creased version; so I can have the geometric aesthetic look I’m wanting to create. I’ve then made the choice of combining the two geometric and smooth ideas into a mixture of the both (shown in the last three images, showing different angles of the face). The nose of the form is meant to be Sevdaliza’s shape, the strong features and lips are also meant to be hers. The strong masculine but intricate feminine features also are done on purpose to relate to my context.

Project 3: Final Design & Shape sketch
Here are the images I’ve used for my final design for the perfume inspired shape. The image of the person’s face is an image I found on pinterest of Sevdaliza herself. I used her face as a template so I could draw geometric images over her features to get an idea of what I could do for my final design. By doing this I can still keep to the idea of me wanting to have a natural formed rock/face, which is related to the organic form of which I want to have in order to relate to the brief. The naturally formed rock shape also relates to Sevdaliza self-love ideology which relates more to my context as well.
The second image is a sketch I hand drew to just display the form, the inner workings and the placement of the lid. The second image is another sketch I made myself to represent the geometric shaping of the “organic” aesthetic I’m wanting to have. I also add the brand/logo name I made.

Project 3: Logo and Brand I sketched and looked over some ideas for my form and the logo/brand of my project. I wanted to incorporate the word essence since it directly relates to my projects theme of Sevdaliza. I experimented with Persian and French since she is Persian and uses French elements within her music. I looked into using the word reality because of how her work is about her real life experiences and her essence is a reality. I tried to incorporate Persian into my final logo but decided that a simplified all upper case of ESSENCE would suffice and hit the nail on the head for what I'm wanting to convey within this project.

Project 3: Lid concepts/Final Concept
The idea behind my lid is to have it easily able to lift so someone can access the liquid inside easily. I decided to go with a simple pop on and off lid that can have tension so it doesn't just slip off. By having it just as a hollow inner piece that’ll be easy to lift, this will make it look as if the liquid can flow easily out and escape because Sevdaliza has a creative presence that just flows out. I also wanted the lid to be similar to a perfume lids shape so it’ll look as if you dab the “perfume” (black liquid) onto your wrists like a perfume. This is where my inspiration came from.

Project 3: Chosen concept/Theme/ Container shape
Here is a sketch of my initial concept form which I’m pulling toward for the final form. The use of the transparency in relation towards the black liquid makes it look as though the etched on face has a beard (representing masculinity) but then the face is actually meant to be Sevdaliza’s (representing femininity). The geometric shape is also exhibited within my sketch since it allows for that organic formation of gems/rocks that I wanted originally. The lid is also introduced and made me realise I just want a cap lid that pulls on and off, that way the liquid and form of the project is the main elements, and allows me to focus on these aspects.

Project 3: Concept inspiration images.
These are images I’ve found on pinterest. These are the type of form shapes I want for the practicality of my project, but also to have it come in a perfume type of branding. These images embody the transparent design I want for the materials and also the geometric forms I experimented with. They also use strong colour for the liquid which I’m drawing inspiration from the elements displayed since I’m wanting to use a strong black liquid element within my container to represent Sevdaliza. The way these have also been branded creatively in my opinion is also what drew my attention towards these images, I want to photography my project images in such a statement way which would relate to these, that they all give off a creative element.

Project 3: Sketch Concept ideas
The idea of my project is to have a bottle/container that embodies Sevdalizas herself as a whole, her image, her creativity, her ideologies. I want to have a transparent container that has a black liquid inside since the black liquid will be able to be used to represent these ideas, in my opinion. The form of the container needs to be free flowing, so organic. The sketches above in the image are all meant to be transparent with a black liquid inside. I’m aiming for having a perfume type of container shape, since perfume relates to fashion and creativity, which in a marketing/branding way will sell easier but also have a design appeal towards this project.

Project 3: Inspiration/Context/Form
Here are images of Sevdliza that I sketched because I wanted to get the artistic feel and physical elements she has. The image of her plastic face and her actual face kissing one another is my inspo for the container. I want to have a clear transparent shape that’ll look similar to her but also so you can see the liquid inside. The last 3 images are rendered shapes made with a 3D programme from her music videos which convey her type of aesthetic, the materials and also the inspiration I’m getting for the 220 ml liquid for inside the container.
The Liquid:
The use of black against the textured metals/diverse shapes is the approach I want to have within the aesthetic of my project, which is shown within the last image. This then reminds me of a black liquid or type of dark form which represents Sevdaliz’s essence. By using black liquid, or a slime, I think it links towards her sexuality, her image, her aesthetic but also represents an embodiment of her essence which can then be assumed to sum up her overall; having no labels.

Project 3: Here are some random doodles I drew because they've been on my mind lately based off of things I've seen on the internet and everyday life. I want a shape that's still organic or free flowing (maybe) but also still has some interesting context within the form. I also want my container to be transparent so I can have the liquid as the main statement piece of my project since I have the liquid to have importance.

INDN211 - Project 3: Composing with Plastic Forms
This is a post about my initial thoughts and ideas behind the project. For this project I’m required to have a bottle/container that can hold up to 220ml of liquid. This container needs to convey the ideas of complex form, which relates to biomorphic or organic formation of shape. My initial idea behind this is to have a water bottle/ liquid container that can hold a type of liquid which relates to my theme than a measly simplistic water type of liquid. Since this project requires more depth I figure the main aspect of this, which is the liquid, should have more of a depth and importance. I also want to have an interesting form that has geometric formation, like natural forming rocks or gems.
