"isn't it unrealistic that every time some rebellion shit goes on in District 12 it's someone related to or connected to Lucy Gray" no because Snow committed the cardinal sin of dating someone from a big family in a small town

Istg if I see one more post/comment villainizing Tamanna and calling her a manipulative bitch, I’m going to lose it. After being in the Bandish Bandits fandom for literally just two days, I’ve realized how fucking misogynistic it is. Like, how are y’all watching the whole show and still missing the entire point? I need everyone to log out and touch some fucking grass.
Everybody wants to talk about that Jugalbandi scene. Okay, let’s talk about it.
When I first watched the Jugalbandi, before even watching the show, even I thought Tamanna was just some overconfident pop girl who bit off more than she could chew and by the end, we’re all cheering for Radhe because he completely destroys her on stage. But then I actually watched the show, processed the lore, and realized—wow, people are so infuriatingly wrong and I can't just sit with that (couldn't sleep last night y'know)
So here’s my interpretation of the Jugalbandi scene:
Four days before the Jugalbandi, Tamanna finds out she’s up against Radhe. And not just any Radhe—Radhe, the same guy who single-handedly made her question her entire career and almost quit music, the reason why she went from being a confident, famous musician to someone who is clearly not anymor. The same guy who, despite being insanely talented, unintentionally made her spiral into an existential crisis. Naturally, she’s terrified. She doesn’t want to do it. She asks Nandini if she can back off, but Nandini insists that she’s the perfect choice. Tamanna is at her lowest, insecure and afraid of embarrassing herself again, and the only person she can talk to about it—the only person who truly understands her—is Radhe himself.
When she opens up to him, Radhe tells her that even if he had to lose to her, he would do it happily. I don’t think he meant that he’d let her win, just that if he lost, he wouldn’t be bitter about it. And contrary to what some people believe, she never asks him to lose on purpose. She just wants him to let her hold her own. After months of struggling, being trolled and ridiculed, the last thing she wants is to be humiliated on stage (which Radhe is very capable of doing to his opponets bcs he's just that fucking talented) We see proof of this in Season 2, when she wins an award with Bandish Bandits but freezes on stage, unable to sing her own song. A complete contrast to the confident girl Radhe first met in Season 1. That’s how broken she is.
Then the Jugalbandi begins. It starts off lighthearted and friendly, with both of them exchanging vocals. Tamanna is doing really well—so well that even Radhe looks starstruck and proud of her improvement. For a while, she’s actually winning. That’s when Radhe starts to get a little confused, a little distracted. But then, things shift when Tamanna goes toe-to-toe with Mohini, Radhe’s mother. That’s when Radhe realizes: this isn’t just a competition; it’s about family honor. He looks conflicted, confused, and unsure of what to do next. And then the downfall begins when she gets overconfident. She’s not just trying to win; she wants Radhe to see how much she’s grown. And let’s be honest, even though she loves him, Radhe is the root cause of her downfall. Whether she realizes it or not, she wants to make him feel at least a fraction of the pain she’s been through. When Radhe realizes his family is losing, that’s when the shift happens. The acting in this scene? Holy SHIT. Phenomenal.
Then Tamanna makes her biggest mistake: she sings Sajan Bin. A song that’s not just any song—it’s history. It's his song, his composition. Radhe wrote it for her. And when she chooses to use it against him in this competition, where she already has the upper hand, it triggers him. That’s when he snaps. He completely annihilates her on stage, leaving her no room to fight back.
But once it's over and here’s the kicker—does Radhe look happy? No. Do his people look happy? Nope. Most of them look shocked, even disappointed. Even Radhe himself looks like he’s on the verge of a breakdown. And the the scene follows where Mohini tells her what a wonderful job she's done. Because she knows he took it a bit too far.
And here’s where I want to make something very clear: I love Radhe. I don’t think he did this on purpose to hurt Tamanna. It wasn’t some calculated move. He just got caught up in the moment. He got competitive. Maybe even a little insecure, but mostly competitive. Because Radhe is not someone who’s used to losing. Has he ever lost in the show? I don’t think so. He’s always been the one who wins. He’s hardworking, stubborn, and simply cannot let something go. He has to win. And in that moment, that instinct took over. Yes, I get that in the end its a competition and one of them has to be let down but I feel like they could have handled the situation better. Instead, they got caught up in a 'I'm better than you' competition.
After everything, yes, Radhe won the round. But he lost Tamanna. And that loss meant more to him than any win ever could. That’s why he keeps apologizing. Not because he won, not because she lost, but because he hit her where he knew it would hurt the most—her insecurities.
And yet, after all this, people still act like Tamanna is the villain of the story. That she’s manipulative, selfish, overconfident—that she “got put in her place.” What did she even do to you? Have you watched the show? Tamanna and Radhe are both incredibly well-written, flawed, and human characters. The writers did a brilliant job making them complex, yet the internet refuses to see nuance and just wants to demonize Tamanna.
If I see one more post or comment like that, I swear I’m going to pluck my eyeballs out.

At its heart, Wuthering Heights is a haunting narrative of two children ensnared in an abusive household, their only refuge being each other. It is centered around Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, whose relationship is marked by intense, almost feral passion that transcends social norms and personal boundaries. Bound by this unbreakable bond, they struggle in the suffocating darkness of their surroundings. Unable to escape it they are ultimately swallowed by the very same darkness that defined their lives.

I am just 2 episodes in on the new Avatar LA and I'm loving it so far!
Also the people on the internet who are being super nitpicky about literally everything from the LA - I mean every single detail or change, are starting to piss me off now. For those of you who want that much of a 1:1 adaptation, I think the only thing that can help you at this point is if you're directly transported into the animated show.

god it just that. percy was 14 when annabeth got kidnapped, and i would never forget how percy stood in cabin 3 while talking to his mom that had a date with paul at the moment and asking her what should he do, because no one seems to care about annabeth. all they care about is artmeis. and i’ll never forget how sally jackson didn’t even question it when she told him that he should go, that he should go and search for her. that she knows that if the things would’ve been different, annabeth would’ve done it for him. and i can’t stop thinking about how 2 years later he just got missing, and i can’t stop thinking about how annabeth cried herself to sleep every night because percy, her percy, crossed all of the usa to bring her home and i think a lot about how she hated herself because she couldn’t bring him home like he brought her home 2 years ago. and i think about him kissing her again in camp jupiter, and tells her that she’s the only person he remembered, and i think about how - a year earlier - he didn’t remember who he was, he fell down to the river and annabeth held his hand and i think about how percy could’ve seen any other person while he went inside the river styx, but he saw her and he remembered her, and i think a lot about what if annabeth is his achilles curse, but not his loyalty. and maybe it is his loyalty, but his loyalty to her and only her.

i know that everyone wants to see the 'percy with a photo of annabeth' thing in the show and i do too, but can we talk about this scene for a second? percy and tyson's relationship is way too underrated and this needs to be there

i am seeing so many people (esp on tiktok) shitting on the new PJO show, especially the casino episode. and i don’t get it. rick told us not to compare the show to the movies and he outright said there would be changes from book to show. i dont understand why people are up in arms about the fact that the guy who created this universe is tweaking it to fit the current day and age and also the new format of an eight episode show.
i am a hardcore believer that if you want to re-live the feeling that the books gave you, re-read the books. no adaptation is going to be 100% the same, especially with such a huge time gap in between.
the show is based on the books but it is its own entity, just enjoy the new things that rick’s brilliant mind came up with! we all enjoy his writing and the amazing characters he’s created that so many of us relate to and care about.
also (apparently contrary to popular belief), i’m very excited to see where the rest of the show takes us because of the changes that were made in the most recent episode, like now i don’t know how it’s going to play out which is exciting!
