Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Rite of Spring #1 by Patrick Horvath

100/5 this is an amazing comic I can’t wait to see what happens.
This post is for fan entertainment; I am not being paid.
Hi everyone,
Ok I was so excited to get a hold of this issue. The start of the second series for Samantha Strong. Will Sam be able to hide her secrets of what happen 8 years in Woodbrook, or will the new leading lady be able to find out what Sam did?
Now, this takes place 8 years after the first series, but the first issue focuses on a female duck name Monica Brewer. Monica is the sibling of Daniel Brewer who disappeared 8 years ago. (I highly recommend reading the first series to understand what happened. I will be doing my best not to spoil the culprits in either series.)
Monica is looking for clues that would lead her to what happened to Daniel 8 years ago. To show how dedicated she is to this case, she dropped everything where she used to live when Daniel had stopped contacting her, went to the city that he was living in (Centerville) and started looking, one day turn to a one week, one week turned into one month, one month turned into one year and one year turned to 8 years. She has got a job and an apartment and using the resources that she has, continues the investigation into where the police have given up.
I like Monica not just because she is an amateur sleuth, she is dedicated. She states to the captain at one of the stations, that she goes over to every single police station in Centerville (and there is a lot) multiple times a week for any updates. She is the first person on the call list for the coroner if a body fitting the description of Daniel is found. She uses her job at a copy store to make and hand out flyers of Daniel.
Monica is tired of doing this for 8 years and coming up with nothing, she is not expecting to find Daniel alive, she just wants closure. This is also during the era of internet forums and computers, and she even uses that to her advantage. She goes to true crime or cold case forums trying to see if anything that might turn up of Daniel.
Monica has isolated herself in this life where she turns down the prospect of friendships with her co-workers, thinking that it would distract her from her main focus. It’s heart breaking seeing when she would get messages from the medical examiner of a potential Daniel, how she would drop everything and rush to the morgue, only to find out it’s not him.
But when Monica gets a message from one of her posts online directing her to Woodbrook she once again drops everything to go to Woodbrook to see if the lead would turn up something.
Once at Woodbrook, Monica heads to the police station to talk to the chief where the chief there explains to Monica what happened 8 years ago, showing her some evidence of a body (more clothes than the body, the body has been buried at this point). A coat that Daniel was last seen in. The Chief explains that it would be impossible to find the rest of him since the forest that surrounds Woodbrook is vast.
Monica being the one-woman investigator she is knows that the cops won’t help her so she will have to do it herself. However, she meets a local that is very familiar to us: the readers. Sitting in Monica’s car is Sam Strong, and she is offering to help Monica with finding what happened to her brother, since she is the one that contacted her to come to Woodbrook.
That is where issue #1 of Rite of Spring ends.
Final thoughts:
Now I have made serval post already on trying to figure out or bounce ideas off. Click here if you want to read.
I love this series because when you think “ok I think this is what’s going happen.” But here comes Sam with a steel chair and it goes off into left field.
I think Mr. Horvath has captured Monica’s character realistically. Having a family go MIA not knowing what could have happened to them I can’t even imagine what is going on in her mind.
Patrick Horvath knows how to hook you into a story.

Date Everything Wishes: Outside stuff
Hi Everyone,
Ok lately I have been playing or watching people play Date Everything. When I first heard of the concept that we can date our household stuff, I was unsure how I felt.
But seeing the characters and how deep the story goes for them is amazing, this is just detail game.
I love this game.
My Favorites are Lyric, Maggie, Cabrizzio, Amir, Chance & Dorian just to name a few. I am still discovering so many more characters.
But this got me thinking, of like DLC (not with Lucinda Lavish) or new updates that could/would include the garage or even the back yard.
(I know that the whole story has us stay inside just because our work would find them and take them away. But we could still at least get the garage.)
But I think it would be interesting to see the other stuff that could be included.
Some of the outside stuff could know the inside stuff. Like Tony the Toolbox and outside there is a like a big toolbox or a work bench.
Stefan could have beef with the BBQ pit outside.
It would open up some new possibilities for more interesting characters.
But I am still happy with the game we have, and there is still so much to discover in this game.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Rite of Spring Issue 2 Speculations

Warning possible spoilers from issue 1 and from the first series! Readers have been warned.
Hi everyone,
This is another theory post because this comic has been on my mind like 24/7. The series is so good, I can’t help making speculations of the future issues of this series especially after the jaw dropping cliff hanger of issue #1. So, I thought it would be smart to put my thoughts down before I forget what could happen in #2.
Again, all these theories post are just that theories nothing has been confirmed.
I have seen at least one variant of the cover for #2 and it has Sam looking down at the parking lot of a superstore. So, from the last issue it seems that Sam has “offered” to “help” Monica on “figuring out” what happen to her brother.
I also want to remember that FCB day issue where Sam is escorting Lewis out of the store. I want to say that this scene might be towards the end of the issue where she is packing up the supplies to go camping. Since they are going to be combing the forest for the rest of Danial.
Could it be possible that there is going to be a major plot point at the superstore seen in the cover art? Like in the original series when we were introduced to Cherry Gherkins, the cover art for that issue has Cherry looking at the window display for the butchers, which was some brilliant foreshadowing.
We can also argue the fact that the Rite of Spring series, the first issue cover art has both Monica and Sam on the cover. Monica looking around a vast forest looking for any clues to her brother and Sam with blood stains hands hiding in the shadows, observing Monica.
So, taking that into account that Monica and Sam have met in the first issue, what does issue 2 covers mean, and why is Sam going out her way to contact Monica.
I have a few theories:
After the Woodbrook murders and having Daniel’s body being discovered, Sam could be thinking that it’s only a matter of time before her previous jaunts are discovered. With the progression of forensics advancing, it just takes one person to start connecting the dots. (One can argue of have the cans and 8-year-old evidence that hasn’t been tested might be a stretch for the time that we see Sam in but it’s a possibility.)
A new killer- there could be a possibility that Woodbrook and the surrounding area is facing a new killer. It would be an interesting prospect but why bring Monica into this.
Loose ends- From the murder 8 years and part of Daniel’s body being discovered could Sam be trying to tie up loose ends. Also seeing that someone has been actively looking for Daniel.
Paranoia- Towards the end of the first series where Sam was in Centerville that she was suffering from paranoia seeing past victims of her hunts. Could she as the years gone by from her last Centerville hunt 8 years started developing worse paranoia from before but keeping up the face of lovable bear that runs the cute little hardware store she can’t break.
Possible thoughts here, what if the section of forest that Sam had used for her hunts is slated for a new super store. Which means more of her paint cans could be discovered and it could be linked back to her. Since in the first series, Daniel’s body is found in the paint cans by the Woodbrook murderer. Now, with that being said, with some detective work they can line up a timeline that could exclude the Woodbrook murder from those murders that happen before the events in 1986, at least to 1984 if the Woodbrook Murderer came to Woodbrook in like 1984. Because that would give WBM (Woodbrook Murderer) time to observe Sam and her methods and set things up for the murders in 1986. But those cans that have been buried prior could be linked back to Sam.

New Goosebumps Game
Hi Everyone,
I have been plotting for this Halloween season some plan actives. Trying to break up the boredom of doing the same thing every day, waiting for the best month of the year. I plan to make this wonderful time of year the best.
Besides reading my Halloween TBR (which will be in another post later) I love playing spooky video games.
So, I have been looking for some interesting games, besides some anticipated big-name games I found one I was surprised by this title.
Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek.
I love Goosebumps. I used to read the books when I was younger, I didn’t really watch the tv series until I was much older (I was more of a Are You Afraid of the Dark person.) I have played the new games that have been released and watched other people play Attack of the Mutant and Horrorland which both were great!
I am glad that Goosebumps is still thriving today.
So, I watch the trailer, the game looks like a role-playing game. We are playing a girl in a town, and I guess there is a mandatory lockdown of the town when it gets dark. So, being the curious kid we are, we gather a group of friends, break curfew and try to figure out the town’s secrets.
One of the features that we have is a spell book which I can guess is that it’s going to be a key feature in defeating the monsters that plague the town. We also have a sling shot.
We can fight monsters, mummies and take on the Phantom of the Auditorium (I don’t know if that is the characters’ name in this game, but the guy gives off the vibe).
I am excited when there is a new Goosebumps game that is coming out. I hope this is going to be a good game that I can play when I am between reading slumps. Â I really hope they will give us a new Are You Afarid of the Dark game.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring Observations & Theories

This post is for fan entertainment; I am not being paid.
Hi everyone,
Ok just to warn everyone there will be some spoilers ahead so if you haven’t read issue 1 of Rite of Spring I would stop reading now.
Now I was interested in the last page of the issue where we find that Sam was the person that contacted Monica to come to Woodbrook.
Her wording was very interesting when they were talking about Daniel. Sam said, “it was me” (see picture). That felt, to me, like she was openly admitting that she was the one that murdered Daniel, and she was trying to get Monica to come to Woodbrook as well.
I am pulling from all the books from the first series and Praludium, we see how Sam is very careful with every action that she takes when she is on her “hunts”.
Now, I am trying to wrap my head around Samantha and what’s her end game of having a member of her victim’s family come out to her hometown, seeing her face and having made contact with some of the people of Woodbrook. (I.E. The Sheriff and the other people in the department.)
Sam is risking a lot here from having Monica here. Monica is now known, and the sheriff knows that she is looking for her brother, and they know where (at least have some kind of idea) where Monica could be heading.
So, if Sam is thinking about making Monica her next target, that is a big risk here. I would also think that after the Woodbrook Murders 8 years prior to Rite of Spring we saw that people were already starting to get surveillance equipment for outside of their homes. This would be a big risk for her since she would potentially be caught on camera being seen with Monica.
Granted in the FCBD issue that like scene where Sam is saying good-bye to Lewis and packing her car for a “camping trip” going back to her first kill in Praludium, Sam could possibly have set up a new way of finding her victims. But again, Sam is too careful about her method of murders. After the Woodbrook Murders she had to completely change her M.O.
So, the big question is what is Sam doing by summoning Monica to her turf and “helping” track down the remains of Daniel.
Being that she is older now could she be trying to somewhat right the wrongs that she had done when she was younger? Or is there something more sinister in Woodbrook and outside eyes would help Sam keep her quiet boring life intact?

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring by Patrick Horvath #1 first impressions

Hi everyone,
Ok I was not expecting to make this post till next Sunday, but a dear friend surprised me with this. They got me the issue of Rite of Spring and it’s one of the covers I really wanted to have. Â
To my dear friend, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
I will try to wait to do a review of issue 1 because I don’t really want to spoil too much that happens. However, I will say after reading this comic I can safely say I want more 10/10.
But I will give fair warning that these posts and reviews will contain spoilers so read at your discretion.
Now the Free Comic Book Day issue did have some important scenes, when Monica is having her talk with the police chief. But now having the issue and being able to read it I can safely say that the FCBD issue new how to build suspense.
Now from the introduction that we got with Monica, we knew she is just trying to find closure about Daniel’s death; she is willing to do anything to find out what happen. Monica is a strong capable woman that will roll you like a drum if the situation is needed.
When I first read BTTWNS I was rooting for Sam to get the Woodbrook Killer, but I think now my feelings are switching over to Monica. It’s the whole amateur sleuth thing (which I absolutely love) that she has been doing this for 8 years trying to find a shred of evidence on what could have happened to Daniel.
This makes Monica a formidable foe for Sam. However, looking back on how calculating of a killer Sam is and having Monica posting her search online that also might make her a sitting duck. (Pardon me for the pun.)
We saw at the end of the first series about how quickly Sam is able to figure out how to turn the situation to her benefit. I was originally going into Rite of Spring with the idea that computers and tech would be outside of Sam knowledge, but something that stuck out in this issue and the FCBD issue. The FCBD had Lewis (one of Charlie’s kids, his youngest) working at Sam’s hardware store. So, I am wondering if Lewis had taught Sam some knowledge of computers and the internet. Instead of tech possibly being Sam’s downfall, it could expand her boundaries (also, the scene that I am talking about isn’t in the first issue of Rite of Spring, where it was showing Sam walking out with Lewis. So we have a scene from possibly #2).
Monica tries to portray herself as strong, but we see in some scenes that she is tired and that she has feelings about giving up. But she doesn’t. Even when she is at work, she doesn’t get too close to her coworkers, for she seems to them as a distraction to her cause. Which you can’t help but pity her. At one point there were some pictures of daisies growing in a crack of some concrete and symbolism there depicting hope, when Monica continues her routine, she has to have the measure amount of hope, too much and it will crush your whole world.
I will say that the ending of the issue had my jaw on the floor; I was not expecting to have that happen. I was wondering who was the person that gave Monica the tip on where she should start focusing her search.

Happy Release Day of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Rite of Spring!!!
I can't wait to see what Sam has in store for us. I can't wait to get my copy. Until I do, I came up with some fun little celebration activities for the day.
I recommend watching or playing if you have a copy of the game: Naughty Bear.
Warning this game has a lot of violence and may not be suitable for younger audience.
I remember playing this a lot when I was younger. You play a misunderstood bear that goes on a murder spree. (Much like Sam, I don't condone the actions of Naughty bear.) Much like Hitman you have to get creative with getting your targets.
I also would recommend watching comic videos about the first series and Praludium, and also re reading prior comic series.
I have a cozy mystery series that reminds so much of BTTWNS. The series is called Shady Hollow.
It centers around a quaint little town called Shady Hollow. Our lead character is a fox reporter named Vera Vixen who is always looking for the next scoop. But in the first book murder has come to call on this quiet little town when the local crotchy old man-frog is found murder. Secrets are expose when Vera is on the hunt to find out is killing off the towns people. The local police bear is not making her job easy when he is by the book and trying to keep civilians (including Vera) away from the investigation.
As of now there is a total of 5 books out now and the newest one will be release in October.
I can't wait to read the series to the fullest, this is one of my favorite comic series that I have read in a long time. I am going to try to keep myself blind but in the Free comic book day issue, I already have an idea what's going to go on.
How do you plan on celebrating this amazing comic?

Kura Sushi X Hololive Collab

Hi everyone,
Ok I am a huge fan of the vtubers of Hololive. When I heard that there was a collab with Gigi Murin I was so stoked to go. I had looked at the exclusive sushi that they were offering but I wanted to support Gigi. But I also thought Fuwamoco would also like the sushi too. Hehehe.
But Gigi's sushi is a spicy tamago and salmon sushi. I wanted it to be a bit spicier, but it was still tasty. I also order a side of Takoyaki which was delicious.
I unfortunately couldn't get the cup that went with the collab (they were sold out). But I am hoping there will be more collabs in the future.

Funko pop Wishes: KPop Demon Hunters
Hi Everyone,
Woooo boy I am adding a lot to my funko pop wish list. But I came across this movie and I was on the fence about. I had seen clips of the airplane scene and when they were eating which I have never seen more relatable characters in my life. Then I broke down and watch a music video and I got hooked and just started spamming the replay button on it. (the music video is "How It's Done")
I have also seen the bird and the weird blue cat creature, I can already see funko pops of those two if not the cat.
Naturally I can see default Funko's of the girls and boy band too.
My hope they will make variants of the girls I want them hold kimbap and their Ramyeon. (I wanna see if they would actually make their Ramyeon, I wanna try Mira's)
So far, my favorite characters from this are Mira and Zoey. But mostly Mira.

Something I wish that they would make: Funko Pop editions 1.5 Steven Universe
Hey Everyone
Click here to see original post.
I was thinking about this, and I thought about it when they started making them but was surprised that I didn't see more characters from this cartoon. Now this post is not a full post like my first one but more like an add-on just because I mention it briefly.
Cartoons:
Steven Universe: Now we did the main squad of Pearl, Garnet Amethyst and Steven.
With it being done with now (Sad face) and we got so many more amazing characters too. I was/am a little shocked that we didn't get more from the series like the Diamonds, and the Lapis and Peridot. But my biggest issue is that we didn't get Ruby or Sapphire.
Just think about it, having them in their normal clothes and in their signature poses.
But think about having them in their wedding outfits. Both of them would be so cute like little wedding cake toppers, also having Garnet in the fusion outfit. There is a lot of potential here.

Something I wish that they would make: Funko Pop editions
Hi Everyone,
Click here to see the new post.
With all the comic cons that are going on and the new stuff for Funko pops that is being released during the events I got to thinking a few fandoms that I am surprised they haven't made yet. But here is hoping that if enough people who are fans of the fandoms we might get it. Like some of my other lists I have made, I might add on to it. So here we go:
Anime:
Case Closed/Detective Conan: its no surprise that I am a fan of mysteries and this series is one of my favorites. I am quite surprise they haven't made any, if anything Shinichi (and Conan) and Ran at the most. I feel they can make soooooooo much with how vast the cast is I would love to get some Funko Pops of this series.
Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi: with how popular this series is why don't we have more figure and merch of this series. I really want Senshi.
Books:
Sherlock Holmes: I have seen the comics where like Batman and the cover art for his comic is in the back. I would love to see an illustration of Sherlock Holmes like that.
Hercule Poirot: I have seen a big movement for Poirot in the last several years with new games and movies I want a funko of him
Nancy Drew: The girl detective herself, I am big fan of her, and she is a great role model too. Much like Sherlock's pop I can see her with the first book illustration and her little funko self right in front.
Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: I love this comic series so much and I would love to see Sam Strong in the funko pop form and with the other characters.
Cartoons:
Amphibia: I love this cartoon series when it came out. I am a huge fan of Steven Universe, Star vs The forces of Evil, Gravity Falls. But Amphibia is such a unique cartoon that you love everyone single one of the characters.
What kind of Funko Pops do you want to see made?
