Hailed as the largest congregation of pilgrims in the entire world, the ‘Kumbh Mela’ is being held in the historic city of Prayagraj this year. And I happened to be lucky enough to attend the traditional ‘shahi snan‘ and click some exclusive pictures of the entire event. To be honest, it was quite an amazing experience, and I wasn’t expecting anything like what I actually saw there. Though a certain confusion was certainly expected, there was more to it, than just the confusion. So one of my travel goals before I turn 30 is visiting at least 30 countries. But why the number 30? Well, I don’t know. But the number sure sounds impressive. Some people may dislike the idea of me ticking off countries, but trust me, it’s not about country counting, or following a list. It’s about the feeling I get the minute I hit the local streets in a new country and everything feels alien. Sure I’d love to spend months in each country to reach this number, but even if not, who cares. I love experiencing THE NEW. And with 20+ countries being already travelled so far, and more than 2 years left before I turn 30, the target certainly feels attainable. What do you think? So lately I've been realising that life has more to it than just running after materialism. Since the beginning of this year, I had a dramatic personality change -- I opened a hospitality venture (my campsite @footloosecamps) and even organised MOTORBIKING tours (footloosedevexpeditions.com). I even planned to open a hostel soon. But I think I'm not ready for it (call it another personality transition) because think all of this was really taking a toll on my mind. So I've decided, for now, at least, I'm not going to do anything but just run a campsite and focus all my energy on traveling and blogging. I've booked a motorbike that's arriving in January. Once I'll have it, I'll be a clueless nomad again, and plan a long motorbike trip across India. I think it's time for me to learn a bit more about people and myself than getting my hands dirty in money-making! What do you think?
