I feel like I f*cked up my friendship with someone

I've been friends with this person ever since kindergarten. Though we weren't all too close. Just when chances came where we could hang out, we would. But we wouldn't go out of our way to hang out

Come middle school and I find out he's dating another one of my old friends. Only thing is I was closer to my other friend than I was with him at the time, so I still didn't talk to him much. Though when him and my other friend broke up, my other friend was VERY mad with him. They asked me to not talk with him for obvious reasons.

I'm normally a very impartial person, but for some reason I decided this was the one time I chose sides. And unfortunately I chose to not take his side.

Cut to highschool and where things have cooled off more, and me and him are part of the same friend group. I think I still had a thought in the back of my head that I shouldn't get to close with him.

Though I find out at the end of this school year that he's moving schools, so there goes anymore chances of trying to rebuild our friendship and get closer.

So yeah, I feel like I f*cked up our friendship. Like the one time I decide to choose sides, the one time I decide to uphold a request to drop someone. I do it to someone who very much doesn't deserve it. I feel so bad

During graduation, I had to play pomp and circumstance with band. Once we were done and the ceremony started we all had to sit on the fields in our chairs and watch til the end.

While we we're watching, me and another kid started talking about what we should do if we see ICE coming into the school.

ICE was in the area earlier and we were especially vulnerable having everyone at graduation.

We started wondering if we should actually start screaming "La migra" and warning everyone. Or just wait til someone else sees and starts screaming.

We were very unserious when talking about it but the scenario was playing in my head the whole time and it was terrifying. Though thankfully nothing happened and it was a nice ceremony.

When it comes to my work, what I do best is set up things so later reveals can sucker punch enjoyers in their emotions

In my book series, There is one character who is oblivious that another is missing

Vaellia is unaware of my main characters' mom, Colleen, has gone missing. She really looks up to Colleen, and treats her like a literal demigod. So when our main characters meet her, they don't say anything about their mom's disappearance. Vaellia's role eventually evolves to presumed dead and following our main characters, she overhears a conversation about their mom. She begins crying and some of her tears fall to the floor, enough for my main characters to notice. When this happens, it's just written as random water droplets coming out of nowhere in this very serious conversation. Though with the knowledge that Vaellia is there with them, above them. It becomes clear that it was Vaellia crying because she just found out her ideal is missing and might be dead.

Sucker punches like that are my speciality

I went on a tour to Hearst castle. Basically this guy looked at an unstable hill and said "I should make a castle on that. Though my favorite thing on this tour was what they told us about the dining table

They told us how Hearst often had people visit and tried to talk with everyone. So when it came time to eat and he hadn't talked to you yet, you would sit close to him. Hearst made sure things were equal between guests. Our tour guide told us that the farther you sat away from Hearst at the dining table, the more likely it was you had to leave soon. Because he's talked to you enough and if you're here any longer, it won't be equal.

Retired animation kids alike. Have you ever had a song that you would want to see be made into an animatic about a particular subject or piece of media. Only for you to stop yourself because you don't want to do that to the song.

Like I have this one song called "Sale para ser feliz" and I think it's perfect for my OCs and can pass as they wrote it.

But I feel like if I do I'll be degrading the song. Cause like, only certain songs can be made into an animatic without being considered bad because of it. But "Sale para ser feliz" is not one of those songs, because it's great just as is. So I feel if I were to make it, it would degrade the song to something like "oh that song? Isn't that from that one animatic?" And I don't want to do that to the song.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I had this idea for a show and its plot twist.

Basically a show where a city that is broke and run down. Filled with crime, pollution, all that stuff. But the people in this city are told by those who own it that there is a gated town within it. This gated town is a beautiful place, away from all the chaos. Think Auradon to the isle of the lost. So it became people's goal to get into this town anyway possible, including our main character. Our main character is an orphan girl who isn't too persistent on getting in but still dreams of it. Though of course because she's the main character, she does get in somehow. But when she does she sees that it looks no different from the city on the outside. She ends up telling other kids that she is from the city outside the walls, and they bumbard her with questions about what it's like. Turns out the people on the inside were told the same thing about the city outside the wall, by those who own the city.

So everyone was just lied to and there is no escape from all this chaos, there is no better city.

I mostly came on here because I would always see those shorts posts with people making random rants and thought, "Hey, I have random things I can rant about." And so here we are, glad to be here
