Season 3 and sequel roster predictions
TobTo everyone’s surprise, Master Roshi was revealed to be one of the last three upcoming characters after a slight delay and teasing from multiple sources including Bamco’s Latin America page.
Two more characters are coming along the way and I think I have a good idea who they will be:
Tumblr media
Season 3
Goku ( Ultra Instinct)
Master Roshi
Omega Shenron *
Kefla
Pikkon *
* There are 5 characters for this pass instead of an even number like before tells me that they may include a character who is neither a protagonist or an antagonist like Pikkon. Pikkon is a highly skilled fighter who many strong, hard-to-counter techniques.
* There are unused voice clips for Gogeta (SSGSS) that hint at Omega Shenron’s inclusion. Also being the original final villain of the Dragon Ball series, I say it’s quite fitting we’d get him as GT representation besides Goku (GT). He also has the ability to control seven different elements so I imagine him being a mixup-heavy character.
FighterZ Sequel / Extension Roster
Tumblr media
Returning Characters
Goku (unlockable) * Goku (Super Saiyan) Goku (GT) (unlockable) * Goku (SSGSS) Gohan (Teen) Gohan (Adult) Vegeta (Super Saiyan) Vegeta (SSGSS) Piccolo Krillin Trunks Yamcha Tien Master Roshi * Videl (unlockable) * 18 17 * Majin Buu Gogeta (SSGSS) (unlockable) * Vegito (SSGSS) (unlockable) * Gotenks Bardock (unlockable) * Nappa Vegeta (unlockable) * Captain Ginyu Frieza Cell Kid Buu Cooler (unlockable) * Broly (unlockable) * Janemba (unlockable) * Omega Shenron (unlockable) * Beerus Hit Goku Black (unlockable) Fused Zamasu (unlockable) * Jiren * Kefla (unlockable) * Broly (DBS) (unlockable) * Pikkon (unlockable) *
New Characters Mr. Satan * Raditz *  Zarbon * Dabura * Caulifla (w/ Kale) * Toppo * Moro (unlockable) *
* I feel 16 and 21 may be excluded due to the events of FighterZ’s Story Mode (and the former also due to being virtually obsolete). They may return as DLC if demand is high enough.
* DLC characters may return as part of the base roster but as unlockables with few exceptions.
* Mr. Satan is the quintessential joke character- he’s much weaker than everyone else but makes up for it with unique gimmicks and other quirks
* Raditz is the villain who jump started the plot of DBZ and forced one of the Earth’s strongest warriors (at the time) to join forces. He could also be one of the more technical characters for the game as he’s known for the dual energy waves (Double Sunday), being fast, and fighting dirty.
* Zarbon along with Dodoria are Frieza’s top henchmen. Zarbon is normally very agile and elegant in his technique but he has a monster form which he sparingly uses due to its bulky and grotesque appearance. In this form, his physical strength increases greatly but he becomes slower and more reliant on grapples. He can also transform to this form in a pitch.
* Dabura is a character with many magical tricks under his sleeves. He can materialize a sword and a spear from thin air, turn opponents into stone with his saliva, and has flame breath.
* Kefla is the combination of both Caulifla and Kale but the duo can put in work individually. Kale is the muscle while Caulifla is the natural fighter and leader of the group. Kale can also use her beserker form as a trump card.
* Toppo is the leader and second strongest of the Pride Troopers. He’s fast for a large guy and uses various unusual grapple moves. He also has the ability to transform into a God of Destruction where he uses less but more powerful attacks and he also uses Destructive energy.
* Moro is the main antagonist of the currently running arc in the Super manga. He has the ability to energy from his environment as well as distorting and using it as a weapon. Again the arc isn’t done yet but by the time a sequel /extension for FighterZ comes out, it certainly will be.

Are there any REAL Gohan fans?
I ask this question because not too many seem to like Gohan for who he really is. Whenever I see praise for him it's usually for SSJ2 "Teen" Gohan, Future Gohan, or Ultimate Gohan. When his true character shines through (like the Gt. Saiyaman stuff) people complain about it and cry how he's been "ruined". One example that stands out to me is when he got cold feet against Nappa. People were giving him shit for it believing he should just nut up and blitz Nappa. What these people don't get is that while the boy is powerful, he's still only 5 and on top of that it's his first time on the battlefield, which he saw things that no kid could imagine happening (exploding plant monsters, Chiaotzu blowing himself up for nothing, Tien getting his hand punched off). But to really get insight into Gohan's character, let's take at what when we were first introduced to him- he was a polite, mild-mannered, and studious little boy with immense amount of hidden power that only surfaces through his emotions especially rage, but lacking his father's fighting spirit. Compared to Goku, Gohan lived a sheltered childhood with no martial arts training because his mother insisted it was unnecessary during times of peace. However, that all changed when the Saiyans invaded Earth as Gohan was forced to grow up early in order to combat evil. He develops a strong sense of justice as result and while he does enjoy martial arts, he never develops Goku's love for fighting. Probably the biggest criticism against him is his lack of training during time of peace which is valid but he's far from the only character guilty of this. All the other halfbreeds stop training eventually even Goten and Trunks by the end of the series despite enjoying it when they were younger. The only half-Saiyan that still actively trains is Future Trunks but that's to be expected regardless of his Saiyan lineage due to his world being a huge dystopia. Now to my last point is how his fans like to use his own mother (Chi-Chi) as a scapegoat for Gohan not being the "badass" they want him to be when in reality, they should be thanking her because she's pretty much the only reason Gohan didn't turn out just another battle-cazed freak (Goku and Vegeta) or a slacker (Goten and Trunks). People can rag on her about being a nag all they want (though I still think it's silly to pretend any other woman would or could put up with Goku) but you can never ever accuse her of being a bad mother or say she treated Gohan badly. Ever. Anyways, if Gohan fans want to blame someone for Gohan being "lame" then blame Toriyama. He's the one who built him up to be the new protagonist only to spontaneously deem him unworthy of carrying the mantle. To add salt to injury, Super also been actively making a fool of Gohan by not only making him a scrawny weakling but generally making him look like an incompetent fool. Even GT did a better job at portraying him as a retired badass. Sure, Gohan did get his chance back in the spotlight with the Tournament of Power but only after years pf constant backlash forcing writers tp finally cave in. In the end, we got one of the biggest handjobs from the entire series and Gphan ultimately ends up doing nothing. But now to conclude this post, are you really down with Gohan?

I wish Goku and Chi-Chi kept going on adventures
Tbh nothing good came from demoting Chi-Chi to a housewife. Not that I think choosing to be a housewife is a bad thing and I get why it happened (mainly Toriyama didn’t want to use her for anything beyond marrying Goku), but this is a fighting shonen anime/manga and Toriyama isn’t exactly great with women so it basically means you lose all intrigue as a character (or lose character altogether in Videl’s case).
When Chi-Chi first appeared she took on a Tyrannosaurus Rex without even trying. You may say “...but she use weapon”... even ignoring that, she was visibly outrunning the T-rex (they can up to 12-18 mph in speed) and was able to perform a clean cut so easily which clearly indicates she’s not an ordinary girl. In fact, the most you can about that helmet blade she used to behead the T-rex was a really sharp blade (which still doesn’t take away from the feat).
At that moment she shows some promise as a strong, capable fighter in her own right among a male-dominated cast and she lives up to some of that prospect in her re-appearance during the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai as we saw (somewhat briefly) her enter the hardest year of the tournament with flying colors relying entirely on her own abilities (instead of using cheap tactics like the previous female contestant Ranfan).
It all culminates with her being pitted against Goku (the main reason she was there) which is basically a means to re-introduce her into the story so she can be married off to Goku, but nobody (except Oolong) can recognize the girl as she changed drastically (both physically and mentally) causing Goku some turmoil as the girl he doesn’t know claims he ‘wronged’ her. Goku doesn’t fight back but that can be chalked up to him being (understandably) confused by the whole situation and not because she’s weak. She was able to surprise him with some of her attacks (including her initial one despite being over 20 ft away) and was pushing visibly him back even forcing him into the air while consistently keeping up with his movement. Even if he was holding back (which is most likely true), I can’t see that happening if she was piss-weak compared to him.
Even the way Goku defeats her, that some may look down on her as a fighter for, had the others (Krillin, Yamcha, and Roshi more precisely) shocked by that move’s sheer power. Muten Roshi even looked at disbelief is he thinks Goku had to punch the air really hard to perform such a move (which we can clearly see him do) and it was enough to Piccolo’s attention as it was a technique his clan uses (alluding to his training with Kami).
After the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, Chi-Chi never shown fighting again (outside anime filler and movies) and with no reference to her martial arts background till her teachings of Goten (which Super completely undid). This caused a lot of fans to forget or not even be aware Chi-Chi can actually fight and it gets mad annoying when people act like she can’t fight or wasn’t the strongest woman in Dragon World (at least #18 came into the picture).
Anyways, my point is making Chi-Chi being an actively part of Goku’s many conflicts would’ve benefited not only her character but also Goku’s as well as their relationship (that filler arc in the Dragon Ball anime is one of the rare instances where they felt like they were meant to be). She may be overshadowed eventually but it’s better than being characterized as the “nagging wife and mother” for the rest of Dragon Ball.

I don’t really have a problem Super showing more of the couples. It’s only the shilling of Vegeta x Bulma (especially at the expense of Goku x Chi-Chi) and trying to push that awful Trunks x Mai pairing.
Also, I definitely say your wrong about Chi-Chi especially your implication about her being unhappy about her simple rural life. Just by looking at your avatar and other posts I can see you’re an uber Goku x Bulma shipper so I know you can’t be trusted.
English dub vs English sub
I’ve seen some posts here, new and old, talking about how the English dub makes Goku seem like a careless husband, etc. To me, the English dub makes Goku seem more of a loving husband than the sub version. In fact, it annoys me when they try to make him sound all lovey dovey cause I know very damn well that Goku is not like that. I’m so done reading shit saying that Goku loves his wife in a romantic way, when he clearly doesn’t (read what Toriyama has said about it) and neither does she. Chichi loves the idea of being married and having a family.
Goku would never love anyone romantically because it’s out of character for him. Yeah, he does care if something happens to them, of course he DOES, just like he cares if something happens to the rest of his friends.
AND that’s why I LOVE Goku so much! That’s what makes his character special and unique.
