Diary Entry #2

I suppose I should give an update on how Lily was after we decided she would live with me at the winery

The following day after we spoke to Lisa about her and getting Mondstadt Citizen documents I sent out a few letters. I sent one to Alice asking if she knew anything about this, which she told me she didn't have any explantation on the matter, but considering Lily was true in her worlds and her enthusiasm for the new world around her wasn't a threat, we both decided not to worry any further on it. Before Alice could even get back to me I already had my answer on how Lily got her, which I will explain after this. In our letters Lily came up with the idea and saying she was related to Alice, Klee and Albedo as their cousin. Which ultimately made sense. They are all blonde, it goes well I suppose. If anyone asks about Lily's family we can just go down some story route of that.

Lily was going to type up ideas for it when I informed her that we did not have a type writer. Although it has been considered before, simply put winery matters should be written by hand, parties involved feel a sense of trust from the hand written letters. She sighed and hesitantly picked up a pen and started writing, but her hand writing was ... well in her own words "its very bad"

She spoke to me about how she had chronic pains and ever since she was a child could never write well, she spent years learning to read as a kid, so writing took the back seat. It seems in this world she doesn't"t have that problem, yet she would still have to 'learn' to write, or learn how to write adequately. I simply decided to write it down for her, after all I would have to know the backstory we setup for her anyways if we ever came across a situation that needed it.

I've spent a lot of the time with her, introducing her to things around Mondstadt and the winery. She would pick up things and study every detail of them and insight to me how she liked them, or if her "predictions/theories" on how things were, were right or not. Showing her around the winery and Mondstadt made me feel... odldly happy. Which I don't recall feeling in... a long time. Showing her around my home and her admiring every little detail and being so happy and even jumpy about it. I could tell she was trying to keep calm about how excited she was. I hope to one day convey that she doesn't need to hold back. It isn't overwhelming seeing how excited someone is at your home, although... I am not used to it. Showing her around the city was the best part, I even closed down Angel's Share early to show her around. We spent a day of her trying drinks I made for her, no alcohol, "I'm only 20 and the legal drinking age in my world is 21, I want to drink then, it feels right, I can't explain it.." was her words of some sort, followed by "I don't really like drinking anyways, it gives me a headache and it doesn't taste good, just a shot of vodka in soda is good, or I suppose, less than a shot..." so it seems she only likes extremely sweet or overpowering flavors that fade out the taste of alcohol, although I taught how to taste the flavor of alcohol in even the simplest of drinks, so its hard for me to ignore.

I feel a sense of pride and joy in showing off Mondstadt to her. It's.. relaxing.

Anywho, on the matter of how she got here. Apparently a witch from outside the world of Teyvat took a piece of her from her world, and sent her here. She used so many metaphors to explain it, but all that matters is that, there is still a Lily in her own world and she is like a clone, a fallen off hair.. so many metaphors. Apparently the witch admired Lily's love of her and Lily's love of the witches story and so in return she gifted Lily the gift of being in a story she loves. Lily did explain to me that the stories she loves most or finds the most interesting are shorter, but also not worlds you would like to exactly live in. That makes sense, a story about war or intense emotional events may be more appealing, but it isn't a world you would like to live in. I didn't take any offense to it, and in her words "In my world your story is rather new anyways, the ones I really love, I read at the beginning of my teenage years." I take no offense really, its a story, Teyvat and huge and so is apparently the story I am in. Although hearing about how I am one of her favorite characters and one of.. if not thee most one she would like to meet.. its a bit overwhelming. It's not bad, but how am I suppose to react to it? She told me not to worry about it, "We shouldn't worry about weird things anyways!" I told her what mattered is that she was here and for her to enjoy herself. She seemed to take these words in and smiled and said "thank you" to me with such true gratitude, but also calmness in her voice.

The only real problem is that I haven't been able to do any "dark knight hero duties" I simply sent the intel to others who could handle it in my place. Lily asked me if I would send any to Kaeya and I replied something along the lines of "the knights are too busy to handle this, I'll find someone more suitable" which was.. a lie..

In actuality I sent a few things to Kaeya to take care of. I didn't want to. I also just... couldn't admit to Lily I did. The whole talk about how people feel about me and Kaeya and us being brothers.. I just can't handle that situation right now. I have someone new living with me and shes going to be my partner for lack of a better terms. She always asks how I'm doing, and in exchange of her intel about Teyvat I would.. have to put up with her ... "helping me emotionally with my problems" I'm not ungrateful it's just.. thats.. it's so much. I don't wish to talk about it further.

Although.. I do appreciate her kindness to help me, even if I don't know how to respond to it.

(Diluc's) Diary Entry Introduction

Now how would one go about this? I’ve never exactly been given a magical book before that allows people to ask me questions that are from another world.

All of this is so confusing to me, but when I think about it, I guess the best thing to do is shrug and accept it.

So, I will be treating this as a diary of sorts, as such I will go on with how I met Lily.

After a night of… what I suppose I have to refer to as “Darknight Hero” work. I saw a girl in the winery’s yard. She was sitting down and watching the crystal flies in the garden.  I asked what she was doing. Now I wouldn’t mind people just coming to sit and relax in the winery’s yard but, I had to know for sure that’s what was going on. 

She knew my name, which… isn’t a surprise. Most people know who I am in Mondstadt, or even outside of it.  Exclaimed she was from another world, which I have heard of, there are rumors that Alice is from another world, it wouldn’t surprise me too much. After telling me that I should relax and take breaks and let people in.

She seemed a bit delirious, so I took her in the winery and we both went to bed. In the morning I gave her some spare clothes of mind, simple black shirt and pants. If I wasn’t in such a rush to know what was going on, I would of asked the maids to find spare clothes but I suppose that doesn’t matter now, not to mention I know we were in a shortage of maid clothes.

Now that I think about it… since Lily is from another world.. I suppose she really didn’t need a change of clothes in the first place, since she just.. in her words ‘spawned in’ with them..odd word choice in my opinion.

I remember her asking concerned questions about me, I haven't exactly dealt with this level of concern over me in a long time, it’s… hard to adjust to. It’s jarring to say the least, but the eagerness to help me, the sense of acting like she already knew me… it’s a warm sort of feeling that I have not experienced in a long time.

She then claimed that in her world, I am from a story and she ended up here and… well, I’m sure you all know the rest. 

I asked for her evidence and she spoke about what happened on my 18th Birthday and that night.

I took her to my room, which was the first place I could think of in such a state, although.. Perhaps the office was a better idea, but it wasn’t the first thing on my mind when hearing such a claim with evidence to back it up.

I told her that I would give her anything she wanted, as long as she helped me with my duty to Mondstadt. She in turn, bursted out laughing, not believing the situation she was in. If I were in her shoes.. I probably would be laughing too admittedly. 

She then told me about how she loved the story I was from and how ‘my character’ was important to her.

It’s an overwhelming feeling, hearing about how someone admires you, and knows everything about you, and accepts every part of you. No one in a long time has seen me for who I am, I suppose not even Adeline and Elizer, since we barely ever speak anything beyond the winery. 

After we spoke I went into town, got her as much stuff as I could think of. She opened all the gifts and I gifted her a red agate necklace, symbolizing our friendship, similar to the gem broach father gave me, she opened this one last.

She asked to give me a hug and well I let her, I couldn’t just .. say no.  That was something I hadn’t experienced in.. such a long time. It was.. so..warm.  I ran off to the office, it was such an odd and overwhelming feeling of warmth.. It’s hard to accept.

The rest are stuff that’s uninteresting, going to get her an ID and having to explain to some of the reliable knights what’s going on. Lisa and Jean specifically, Kaeya teased me on waiting outside the headquarters for her. We held hands while I showed her around the city, she asked me, sighting that “back in my world, when I walked around, I would often get dizzy, do you mind if I hold your hand?” perhaps she asked out of comfort, even though now it seems she experiences no pain. Well it was awkward, I didn’t mind. It was actually quite nice. 

Now it’s been a while and she’s adjusting to being around the winery.  I suppose that’s all to be said for now.

current relationships as of now! Also btw the crushing on everyone BUT ayaka and diluc is a "uaaahh anime girl come to life pretty" for lily, any questions can be answered. She doesnt know people in fontaine until later in the uhh timeline btw. I kinda rushed this so if you have any questions about a particular character let me know. She also doesnt know anyone besides people in mondstadt unless i decide she does further down the lore, but she does know of them because well shes played the game duh. Also she dislikes Bennett bc of "you have to build him" meta fans, not because she dislikes him but he reminds her off it lol.

This is very rushed and i probably didnt think all of them through, also note lilys feelings are very heavily based on "now im in teyvat, how do i cope with being in a story and interacting with these characters" lol

I think writing an Isekaied version of myself and the problems/dynamics it has is super fun and interesting. Lily has a third person perspective on Teyvat and knows more about it, due to being a 'reader' Diluc meanwhile lives in it. Also Genshin is simply referred to as /the story/ since it gets too idk I just like it like that lol

- I do full literate roleplays in DMs Only, I have the right to decline, say I'm too busy etc (although.. this is rare for me) I can do OC's or as previously mentioned. I find it super weird to have anyone share my writing where anyone could see the roleplay/full roleplay. I do prefer to roleplay on discord if its a full literate roleplay.

Oh.. I guess you already know that.. If I am being honest, I am not used to this whole, 'being a character in another world thing' but I suppose that's just how it is.

Well.. Ever since Lady Beatrice gave me this diary I suppose I can write my feelings and thoughts and here. I will answer your questions, to the best of my ability and update you on my life and what is going on.

Lily told me that some people can be odd in her world towards characters... although she doesn't know of this diary.. her warning still stands. So please.. do not say anything too... weird.

I do have an AU with Lily with the traveler but I don't talk about it much. Lily is suppose to take the role of the traveler I suppose. Does she look like lumine? I hate to tell you but one of the multiple names I was given was Lily (complicated on how I have three names) and I happen to be blonde and decided to cut my hair short a few years ago before genshin. Lily is a girl who mysteriously showed up at the Dawn Winery, within a few days she became Diluc's 'partner' said to assist Diluc in anything and is rarely seen without him. Said to be Diluc's 'partner' in everything, if you ask about romance she responds flusturedly  and tells you that they are not in a relationship.  Said to be Albedo's, Klee's and Alices cousin, but this information seems to go no where without any proof. Working under the Dawn Winery and said to specialize in non alcoholic drinks and business ideas.

Lily and Diluc are on the same wavelength. Their thoughts are almost the same. If Lily needs  break from all the work they both do, or individually, Diluc will take a break. Sometimes Lily has to convince him, or he feels like he is sneaking away like a mischievous young boy to take a break and spend time with her. At the beginning Lily had to beg Diluc to take breaks. As they got closer, Diluc takes breaks whenever she does. Just being around her is relaxing to him, the feeling is mutual.  This connection doesn't just extend to breaks, often times they have the same ideas. Is this Lily predicting what he is thinking or simply them being close and alike?  Their often never seen without the other especially at the beginning, but as they grew close, Lily's duties increased and they learned how to spend time without one another. Always on each other's mine and hurrying back to do their shared activities. They do what their good at individually while the other is on their mind. Always hurrying back to do their shared work, take a break, or go on their secret missions.

Reading and consuming media is what Lily does. Lily, enthralled by Umineko, read it and understood Beatrice's pain. The Golden Witch [Beatrice] saw Lily’s love for her [in our world] and decided to isekai a part of her to a story she loved. Lily loves many stories but the one currently on her mind is..sigh, genshin impact. Which is further referred to as simply just ‘the story’ for lore purposes.  Lily still exists in her original world. Think of the Isekaied Lily as a piece of hair that fell off, metaphors. 

Beatrice either found or remade Teyvat [it doesn’t matter either way, I’m sure I change it based on my mood] for Lily to live in, without the traveler [if we are talking about the au where traveler exists, then well modify it, not a big deal]  She told Lily that this was a gift to her, and that [a part of her] can live happily in Teyvat. Beatrice ‘spawned’ her in the Dawn Winery. Giving Lily the chance to met the person she loved the most. Later Lily is given the information that her existence in Teyvat is a gift via a dream, this is how she and Beatrice communicate, which isn’t often.  Beatrice freed her of pains [Lily canonically doesn’t feel pain unless its important, example being if a cat scratches her she feels, but she doesn’t feel back pain from moving around etc] and also.. She is 5’6 compared to my 5’4 because, why not.

Beatrices Magic to Lily [Changes/Adjustments]:

-Lily no longer has migraines. She is not effected by light or sounds in a way that causes her head pain. She can not get head aches. The most she can have is slight head spinning at confusion. She still can experience a hangover but most times Beatrice elimates the painful effects of a hangover.  [I do not enjoy writing about my own chronic pains]

-Lily can't have pain outside of battle/fighting. She doesn't experience pain or has an extremely high tolerance now. Think of it almost like having a permanent 50% off pain coupon.  

If you were in pain from swinging around a sword all day, Lily doesn't experience that due to Beatrices magic. This being said she can still over work herself and feel exhausted, but not be in pain or experience muscle pains. 

-Lily's eyes are purple

- She had an extra 2 inches [of height]

Age: Fluctuates depending on WHEN IN THE STORY but she is 20 at the beginning of the story, later on I may have her turn 21, but since Teyvat/Genshin doesn't age because well.. It's an anime gacha game, Lily may not actually age herself / be a version of 20-21 Me

Character Introduction:

Beatrice The Endless Witch, The Golden Witch

A witch from another world, and also another story,from a mystery vs fantasy visual novel. Copying Lily, or perhaps the metaphor of the Lily we see is a strand of hair fallen of, or perhaps a "she is the living embodiment of the original Lilys love for the story of Teyvat" either way she granted Lily's Life in Teyvat.

She removed Lily's ability to feel pain of the head and body aches. Also making her feel pain less, perhaps its to say she turned her ability to feel pain to 40% compared to 100%

She will often look over Lily as a golden butterfly, although Lily wonders if she also can be a crystal flies. Sometimes messing with Lily as well, like a teasing older sister.

Lily's love for Beatrice (and crying over Beatrice's story) was noticed by Beatrice and she gave her gift of Lily in Teyvat as in toll. Often times she will communicate with Lily through dreams.

I honestly and truly believe all good AUs should be a little “”””ooc”””” in the sense that good characterisation involves understanding that changes a characters backstory and circumstances will have an effect on how they respond to the world around them

Good characterisation isn’t about creating a perfect 1:1 canon replica it’s about understanding why a character is different in your work and about grounding the changes you do deliberately choose to make in canon character traits
